Am I The Only Person Here.........

I've come to learn that hardcore Nolan fans hate any superhero movie that doesn't look like Chris' approach.

Maybe its cause this is a different fan base all together

Hell I saw the trailer it was ok only shot i liked was the end with all the swat team going after punisher everything else was boring to me

I dont want the movie to fail but this trailer just didnt get me hyped I like'd Jane more than the new guy

hardcore nolan fans are not the same as hardcore nolan/batman fans. i've been a fan of the guy since memento, which ranks amongst my top 5 films, and he quickly became one of my favorite directors. nowadays everybody is on his bandwagon, not that there's anything wrong with that.

I did not know he directed Memento. That is one fine film.

I thought Batman Begins was better than the other Batman movies, but it didn't land very high on my favorite comic book movie list. TDK looks like it will be close to the top of that list though.

I'm not saying Castle is an intellectual, but he is pretty damned intelligent. You can't be a dunce and stay alive in his world. Stevenson has a medicated look in his eyes, and I don't mean the shot of him with his dead family, I understand he should look bad there.

Again, this is just a take on the trailer not the film. The trailer doesn't sell me on it and there have been many trailers for other movies that have.

Nolan should be recognized for the brilliant director that he is. He is saving Hollywood from all the talentless hacks.

He still can't apparently shoot a good fight scene though.

Apparently from the reviews the fight scenes are very good and he pulls the camera back. He had to film the scenes up close the first time since the suit didn't allow Bale any kind of mobility without it looking awkward.

But in all honesty I'm very interested in seeing this Punisher. My only complaint is that I wish they didn't wait so long to do it, which in the process, had them lose Thomas Jane who was an excellent Punisher and I was excited to see him in the sequel. But Ray looks great, Jigsaw looks pretty cool, and I'm hoping this is the Punisher movie I've always wanted to see.

That might be a bit of an overstatement.:whatever:
Exactly! That's exactly why batfans are the most hated fans on the web(more so than Barney fans)because they go overboard and won't stop with crazy statements!

I don't care about woman directors, my sister is a director and she's crazy. But like Claydogg said, if I don't see a trailer, or poster, my guess is D2v!

I agree. A director is a director.

Surely you don't mean the purple dinosaur from the early 90s? Someone is out of touch with reality. My prescription: Batman Begins. That'll clear you up in no time. Nice sig though.

Just saw the trailer........oh well.....Punisher is what he is......wasn't expecting Shakespeare but......ugh....there has to be a Punisher story out there with more "meat and potatoes"......was LG even trying to do something special or just make a buck?

All signs point to making a buck, Jane wanted an overhaul of the script, LG didn't want to spend anymore time on it as they were getting closer and closer to losing the character rights. And you know the rest.

I'm guessing Marvel has a deal with LG similar to the one they have with Fox; i.e. studios will churn out movies for the sole purpose of keeping the rights to make money and won't do anything worthwhile with the character(s).

It may be time to write off the Punisher as a loss on film, along with X-men and FF.

Not really. So many directors in Hollywood are there not because of talent but because they're smart business-wise. Chris Nolan is one of those few exceptions who has both. I'm not boasting him just because of Batman, but because I admire him as a director for all his other films as well. Following and Memento are two of my biggest influences as an aspiring filmmaker.

Nolan's a great director, but his fanboys really need to learn that not everything is a failure if it has CGI or focuses on action. I mean, for God's sake, the man likes Superman: The Movie (which is filled with things that couldn't plausibly happen in real life). I'm not thrilled about this movie being made, but there's no rational reason to bash on this just because it's not Batman Begins.

Yeah, but when you have the director saying that Frank Castle wouldn't fit in a realistic environment (which is BS). And then you have Batman Begins, which places a ridiculous character in a realistic world, and succeeds pretty well at it, it's kinda disheartening.

I don't know if I would call Gotham City a realistic world. It's just like any comic book hero. You have to be careful about what kind of environment you put them.

It really has to do more with that comment, the Punisher can't be put in a believable/realistic environment, because he is a COMIC BOOOOK! character trying to kill a guy with a ****ed up face. It's ******** really, which is why I bring up the Batman comparison, a guy in a batsuit running around fighting crime is pretty ****ing ridiculous, but Nolan was able to put that in a more realistic world. It's weird to think that a Batman film was/and is going to be less cartoonish than a Punisher movie.

And to go a bit off topic when I think of the Punisher's environment I think of dark shadows, like the teaser posters that were just released. Not steel blue, sodium yellow (a whole lot of sodium yellow), green (along with some sodium yellow too), red, blue/purple colors, probably more.

I'm worried about it just in the case of where it'll be way-too-over-the-top violent that there's not going to be a story. Just "Let's see how I can kill someone next." Don't get me wrong, "Shoot Em' Up" had a fun John Woo-premise to it and the stunts and action were good but it was little lacking in the story. I fear the same will come too. I am a big fan of the 2004 movie, sure they took some liberties and made changes but Jane was a kick-ass Punisher. I like the new trailer better than the first just because Stevenson's God line is toned down and redone.

I just hope this isn't like Marvel's "SAW" where there's too much gore and useless gratutious violence and no heart or story.
