Amazing Spider-Man teams REVEALED!!!

The instant you posted Slott, I had a geekasm.

Damn good line-up. I'm on board.

Totally underwhelming

I guess they figure that this 4-team schedule will allow McNiven to get his stuff done on time. Not complaining about him, though, he's the best guy Marvel put on this job

Actually scratch what I said. I don't think McNiven's stuff is kinetic enough for Spidey.:o

I'm a bit of a b**ch.

Totally underwhelming

I dunno man. Slott and Zeb Wells have both written some great Spidey stuff before...Im real glad to see them both on board (not too familiar with the other two writers, other than Back To The Future)...

What spidey stuff has Zeb Wells done?

Ideally I would have preferred:

Whedon and Cassaday
Slott and Marcos Martin
Brubaker and Jiminez
Kirkman and McNiven

this is basically just...meh, whatever, Slott and McNiven is the only exciting team, and McNiv isn't exactly well suited to Slott's storytellingm, plus he's got something going on with Millar later in the year, so how long will he even be around?

eh...couldnt it just have been slott and mcniven, with jimenez to make up for mcnivens inevitable lateness?

Either way, I'll try it out. Been waiting for JMS to leave so i can read some amazing again...

The only change I'd make is putting McNiven with Gugg, and Jimenez with Slott.

Peter Parker: Spider-Man #51 through #57...

Tangled Web #12, and #20.
He also wrote the five issue mini series Spider-man/Doctor Octopus:Year one. That was pretty good. Here is my opinion on the creative teams.

Dan Slott and Steve McNiven-Slott is the best part of this deal.Mcniven is great but is late at times.Grade A

Marc Guggenheim and Salvador Larocca-I love Larroca's art.Guggenheim is hit and miss.Blade was Below Average.Wolverine was Ok a good story but the whole healing factor thing got out of hand.Grade B-

Bob Gale and Phil Jimenez-Jimenez impressed me with Swing Swift.I don't know Nothing bout Bob Gale but he seems to love classic Spidey.Grade B-

Zeb Wells and Chris Bachalo-Zeb Wells is really Underrated.Bachalo I don't know.His art is so-so.Grade B

Slott and McNiven.

Oh thank ye Lord for this Feast I am about to recieve!

This brand new day stuff seems pretty obvious. Look at the preview art, Dr.Strange's presence implies the Wally West retcon in dealing with Spidey's ID. If that smiling McNiven cover is any indication, thats whats going on.

1. Dan Slott and Steve McNiven
2. Marc Guggenheim and Salvador Larocca
3. Bob Gale and Phil Jimenez
4. Zeb Wells and Chris Bachalo

I agree.

Guggenheim's a mixed bag. The only bit of his work I read was his WOLVERINE arc for CW, and while it wasn't perfect, it wasn't terrible either. Zeb Wells proved surprisingly efficient with YA/RUNAWAYS after virtually the entire fanbase predicted disaster. All the teams sound good, with the exception of Bachelo, who is miscast. Between Scottie Young on NEW WARRIORS and Chris "Everyone looks like Melting Clay" Bachelo, Zeb Wells sure seems to like goopy artists.

This change of pace after ONE MORE DAY may be just the thing to get me back into ASM. I wouldn't mind a Dr. Strange retcon, so long as we don't have a Skrull Marriage retcon. Spidey with no secret ID doesn't work for long and the story will run it's course. Why not undo it in some way that makes sense?

Some good news for ASM. I wonder what Slott is going to do with Jackpot. ;)

Bob Gale? That's as out of left field as one can get.

Also, this should be merged with the regular Amazing Spider-Man thread. That, and/or the SDCC thread. You know the one...the one that was created for the exact purpose of not creating threads like this...

I guess the team is alright. I haven't gotten to read much spidey, except for Civil War and Back in Black, but I get the feeling that many fans complain that Amazing has been very editorialy driven, so I'm kinda wondering about the whole One More Day thing, as even the best writers can write bad stuff if it is nothing like the story they want to or (given the constraints) would write.

I guess what I'm trying to say is how much of this is going to depend on the writer's vision as opposed to Joe Q's? I am a lot more psyched about the art than I am the writers though.

I am very pleased about the Slott/McNiven team......but I think this three issues a month alternating between 4 different sotry arcs thing is stupid as hell.

I'll be picking up all the Slott issues......but the whole thing is silly and wierd.
