Americans, y u no stop being negative about Canada/Canadians?

Actually America is more like the kid who doesn't know most people really don't like them. A few American friends I have often tell people they're Canadian when over here in Europe to avoid hassle and make a better impression.

Canada, this is why we hate you

nickelback.062810-530px.jpg

We give you Elvis, Miles Davis, Jim Morrison, and Kurt Cobain, and THIS is how you choose to repay us?

When I meet someone, it's obvious that I'm a Texan but I try to let them know who the real me is and rise above their stereotypical preconceptions.

:doom: :doom: :doom:

Also S.A.A.D. explain to me anytime theres ever been "hatred" shown towards Canada. Have there been anti-Canandian hate crimes? Are there pastors in Florida burning Canadian flags? Please explain this to me.

Or maybe you're just pissed because Shawn White kicks everyone's asses in olympic snowboarding.

I don't get the hate for Nickelback. Are they bland and generally unremarkable? Yes. Are there many bands that have more talent than them that wallow in obscurity? Yes. Is Chad a dumb name? Yes. Are they the absolute worst thing in music? Not by a long shot.

I would never, ever do that. Ya'll Europeans ain't that special. :cmad:

So basically, American's have to hide where they come from because people in Europe are a bunch of haters?

Your American friends are p***ys.

I think we feel about Canada the way Brits feel about Scots. They're like the bratty little brother whose hair we just have to tussle and occasionally give a swirlie to, but it's all in good fun.

I will say that Canada has some fine ass women though. I went to Toronto for a family reunion one year.....woooooo...buffet. :awesome:
I know you mean English feel about Scots because Scots are Brits.

British people like Canadians there really isn't anything bad people have to say about them over here.

European attitudes towards Americans get old.

Many of the problems they have with us are displayed ten-fold in various European nations.

There was once a German forgeign exchange student my high school who went on this rant about our general lack of geographic knowledge, but then we had to explain to him that durring his short stay in St. Louis that he most likely wasn't going to be able to make it to Mount Rushmore, Washington D.C. or Golden Gate Bridge. He truley did not understand the concept that the U.S. width wise is almost as large as Europe.

Haters.....yeah,that must be it.

Never heard of a Canadian feeling they needed to pretend to be American

I once went up to a guy and knocked his box of Tim Horton's donuts out of his hand. I heard that's considered a hate crime in Canada.

Whoa dude don't tar a whole continent because of a few haters no more europeans have a problem with America than Americans have a problem with Europeans

I think some of you American guys are getting a victim complex that everyone hates you or dislikes your country which isn't the case. I can't speak for everyone in Europe but I doubt very much hundreds of millions have a problem with America/Americans

Yeah, I figured that technically. You know we can't tell the difference over here. :o

I agree with you however Nickleback is a strange case.

Despite their Blandness they have the world record for fastest selling ablum, or at least they used to.

Due to their least common denomenator status, they are played on a really wide range of radio stations.

It's not so much that they are bad, it's just that they are everywhere.

Clearly you've never seen a Canadian in America without a Green Card. :o

I think it's just a general ignorance problem that a lot of countries seem to have with us. We honestly don't think about you people as much as you think about us. (At least that's what I've gathered from the small view of somebody whose never even left his home country but watches a lot of television :o) I mean really, is there nothing better to do in f**king Germany or France than to f**k with American tourists to the point where they would feel the need to claim they're a Maple syrup drinking, free healthcare having, Hockey fan? (Euro Disney sounds wonderful.) Well, guess not. Honestly, who cares? We certainly don't.

While everything you say is true I think a big factor is also the amount of sheer *****e they exude/attract/cultivate/replicate/unleash on thee world, etc.

Yeah, but Christian Bale also exudes *****e by the gallon and people (as well as the sub-humans in the Batforums) seem to like him.

I have nothing but pleasant memories of Canada. It's responsible for my favorite vacation.

Whistler, British Columbia is the most beautiful place I've ever been to .

Funny, I was over in Europe in the early 90's (UK and France) and the fact that I was American made me like a pseudo rock star to some of the young women over there. Guess times have changed since the Bush Administration. :awesome:

To be fair their are alot of British people who can't tell the difference either :o

Mostly this is due to ignorance and poor education :csad:

General ignorance like that is exactly why many people have at least a distaste for America, and where most of those 'people in Europe hate Americans' ideas come from. In it's own mind, the U.S.A is the center of the world, it's not. Of course there are people in every country that think the same and the views of individuals are numerous. Just American attitudes in general often reek of an unwarranted superiority complex.

Please take Justin Beiber and Celine Dion, lock them in a dungeon or something and all of America will stop with the jokes and blaming ya'll for everything.

Really? We often forget that you people even exist. To form such opinions about people you never even met. :fhm:
