Annie Remake

So is Will Smith basically going to BUY his kids careers? I can understand wanting to help give them opportunities but c'mon...

Will Smith has turned into the Little League coach who always lets his kid play even though he sucks.

There are a lot of things the world needs. Another Annie movie isn't one of them.

:barf:

Except that I think Will Smiths son is actually a great actor. Especially for a child actor.

Does anyone even care if Annie is remade though? You don't see too many Annie fanboys running around. This movie will appeal to the tween girl market that the Annie brand has always appealed to. I can't imagine anyone getting upset one way or another.

At this rate, I'd believe the Lethal Weapon remake has Will Smith playing Riggs and Steve Carell playing Murtaugh. Yes, I typed that correctly.

Iiiiiiii feel like this has something to do with Will Smith wanting to prove that black people should play old roles performed by white people, and that he ultimately wants to be Superman someday.

I guess the problem I have with this is that Annie has been a comic strip character, a radio hero, and a musical. What she's been has been pretty consistent for decades. And it was just done wonderfully in 1999. I guess, by recent Hollywood standards, it's not too soon for a film remake. I'm a little worried this would be modernized, which would be awful. If he wanted to make an action film based on her radio adventures, that I wouldn't mind so much. But remaking the musical as a film? It's been done. Take the girl to Broadway, see if she can hack it there. But this just seems stupid. Maybe he could create something else for his daughter, or a remake of PIPPI LONGSTOCKING, or a musical adaption of POOR LITTLE MATCH GIRL or whatever. Though if he does make this, I want him to make Willow wear opaque contact lenses so Annie has those creepy blank eyes.

I wish they'd make a Little Orphan Annie movie along the lines of the comic strip. Where Daddy Warbucks is a violent, borderline criminal who runs a union-busting syndicate.

Ken Jeong can play The Asp. :funny:

this

it's bad enough we got a crappy remake of the great Karate Kid starring his son, now we are getting an Annie remake with his daughter

The new karate kid movie wasn't a crappy remake. It was actually a good film.

Most kids today know nothing about Annie today so what's wrong with a new version?

I want to hear Annie sing "I whip my hair back and forth"...

Why can't Will and Jada stop pushing their kids on us at all? Just because you guys are talented doesn't mean your children are.
When did they start pushing their kids on us? Last I checked he was just getting them work in things we could choose to watch or not. When did they start forcing us?

Why doesn't Will Smith just remake "The Pursuit of Happyness" with a daughter instead of a son this time? and from now on just make a movie that involves himself starring as a single father with a child then he can intertwine which kid gets to be in the movie with him. Hell film the same movie twice with just the different kid.

Imagine Will Smith has another kid an he wants to be a doctor or a lawyer and how disappointed Will would be.

He has an older child from a previous relationship. You might remember him from the "Just the Two of Us" video.
