Annie Remake

When did they start pushing their kids on us? Last I checked he was just getting them work in things we could choose to watch or not. When did they start forcing us?

You mean Will Smith didn't show up at your house and say "Aaaah Hell nah! You aint watching my son's Karate Kid remake? What's wrong with you man!"

But no, I agree. If you don't like it, you don't have to watch it. I can't believe people are seriously up in arms over ****ing Annie.

this

it's bad enough we got a crappy remake of the great Karate Kid starring his son, now we are getting an Annie remake with his daughter

Actually it was a pretty good movie with decent reviews and did excellent at the box office. This is from someone who grew up in the 80s with the original one. Never was a fan of Annie though.

"But you're stomping on my freedom and my rights, Will Smith!"
"Welcome ta Earf!"

Ah nepotism, how I love it in all its different forms.

Oh please! Will and Jada are far from the first to get their children into the business and I would do the same thing too if I had the same power and resources:

That's not the problem. The problem is Will and Jada pushing them in big budget remakes. I don't see why they just can't be in a non-remake, especially they haven't really proven anything to begin with.

What did Tatum O Neal prove when she first starred with her father in Paper Moon. Her first role that she ended up winning an Oscar for?

Again I'm sure Will is not the first to do this not that it makes it ok but can you give me a good reason why he shouldn't other than you not personally liking it?

The Karate Kid was a remake that he didn't illegally obtained, it got good reviews as well as did Jaden for his acting, and it made the studio lots and lots of money. What did Will do that was so wrong? Men of great wealth, power and influence in all fields have put their children in positions to achieve greatness. Did any of them earn it or were they just fortunate to be born with a silver spoon in their mouth?

How do you think JFK became President? His father moved heaven and earth to make it happen. Was that right? Doesn't matter. Until the end of time fathers and mothers will use whatever influence they possess to put their children into positions to succeed regardless of the line of work.

By the way Lloyd Bridge's cast his young sons on his TV show in the 60s. They are Beau and Jeff Bridges. You never know, Jaden and Willow could exceed their parents one day.

Think I'll be skipping this one

So now Will Smith is going to try and shove his other kid down everyones throats with another craptastic remake? Smh

I wish this movie had been made a year ago and got nominated for Best Comedy at the Golden Globes.

What does me not liking Willow for Annie have to do with me not liking what famous father and mothers do for their kids?

Won't disagree with anything you said, but I don't get why you're thinking I'm against Will doing everything for them. The problem isn't him pushing his sons and daughters, but there's a difference. I don't criticize "Whip my head" because it's a harmless original song. But when you push you're sons and daughters in remakes you already have an uphill battle because of backlash.

I did acknowledge that the Karate Kid got good reviews and wasn't fully against it when I first saw the trailer. This could surprise, but once again I'm incredibly skeptical.

Just think if the Wayans and the Smiths decided to work together?

Hollywood would for sure be dead...

You said the problem is Will and Jada pushing them in big budget remakes, not that you didn't like Willow for Annie. So I ask you what is wrong with Will putting them into big budget remakes? First of all anyone who makes a movie wants a big budget if they can get it so I don't blame Will for that. If you can get it then use it. Second, Hollywood has been remaking movies its entire history. If your criticism is remakes in general, then thats one thing, but if its the fact that Will Smith is getting into the game then why hate on him and his kids, especially with a remake of a movie that sucks anyway and never had any real fan base. Karate Kid I can somewhat understand, but Annie? I don't understand how Will Smith is forcing his kids on us. I don't hear people complaining how Billy Ray Cyus forced Miley on us.

I personally think its people hating on Will Smith because he has the power and willingness to do what he is doing. Otherwise who cares? No one is forcing anyone from watching these movies. You either choose to watch them or not. If its such a problem then if no one goes and these movies fail at the box office then that will stop the Smith family and their dastardly power play in Hollywood.

I didn't know fanboys were such big fans of Annie or hated Hollywood nepotism so much considering they loved Jeff Bridges in Iron Man, Lebowski, and Tron.

Me too. Nepotism is a big part of the fabric of America. I'm sure that it being Will Smith has nothing to do with it though.

Most things don't get fanbases until they're about to get remade, silly!
