Annihilation Conquest

There's also nothing wrong with letting a woman know where you stand on things. :o

Sounds pretty damn Islamic to me. And I haven't tried it myself so....

A manly man in my opinion is a guy who can walk out of his house with a white T-Shirt with Winnie the Pooh emblazened on it, walk down to his 7-11, pick up Penthouse and some Camels, gets into his old Cadillac, cruising down the street where he successfully talks a single mom and a nun into having a threesome with him and then takes them out for a nice dinner at Taco Bell. I miss you Juan...

He never got to that part. His habits aside, he was a passabe Catholic till he met this Chinese girl he was talking to me about. Dunno what came of it. I got the hell out of New Bethelhem by then.

Of course he does. Sister Mary Whatshername said the same thing when he refused to spank her. I felt it was rather principled of him.

Not laying a hand on a deserving woman when she's asking for it? Total *****. :o

It is possible that somehow losing the connection to his Soul Gem is part of why Adam Warlock is messed up. He's spent most of his life with it attached to his forehead, a part of him. Now, he can hear the voices of the dead but has no way to channel it with the gem. The exact specifics of how Reed got the gem in ILLUMINATI #2 are not known; he simply had it in his briefcase. Adam has been seperated from the gem a bunch of times before; it may've simply been that it got torn from him during the chaos of ANNIHILATION, and Reed happened to snatch it up afterwards. Then the coccoon, then Phyla and Moondragon awake him too early, and here we are.

Still, Mr. Fantastic's met Adam Warlock before, and knows the Soul Gem was part of him; surely if he was a compassionate human being, he'd be wondering why it was seperated from Warlock and might want to help. Eh, who am I kidding?

What is interesting is Gabe is still wearing his Capt. Universe mask, even without the Enigma Force. It isn't like he has a secret identity in space. And hey, it Starlord can be fine without his cybernetics and just his guns/training, then so can Gabe. Even if Starlord has more space experience.

Hopefully they don't ALL die during AC. I can forsee at least another one of them dying, but hopefully not all.

Adam Warlock is being groomed as a hero this time around, but if Moondragon really is dead, Phyla will have the revenge factor going vs. Ultron. Of course, the ol' Capt. Kirk method won't work on Ultron. It still is up in the air.

Really, the only characters I give a damn about in this whole mess are Peter, Gabe, Rocket, Groot, Mantis, Bug and Kl'rt. The rest are expendable.

I don't feel quite that extreme. I give a damn about Starlord & his team (naturally all those mentioned), Warlock, Phyla, Ronan, Kr'lt, and Wraith, in that order of importance. I have counted Moondragon for dead and never really cared for her.

Part of the thing is I really never read much into many of these characters before ANNIHILATION. Some people dislike Warlock from the 90's, but I never really read him there beyond INFINITY GAUNTLET and other assorted reprints so my slate is rather clean. His whining is getting on my nerves, though; he is acting like a fairly typical, "I dunno who you are, LEAVE ME ALLOONNNEEE!" hero like half of all heroes in video game RPG's who of course go on to save the universe. But he has potential. Phyla is starting, key word STARTING, to almost grow on me, although I probably liked Ko-Rel more, which probably says something. Ronan and Kr'lt kicked ass last Annihilation. Starlord & Crew are naturally bad-asses. And Wraith is just...there. At least Drax had a genuine role to play in the last story, as Thanos was working with Annihilus. Wraith just seems very randomly thrown in, and while he has potential, he is a bit one-note.

I'm mostly just happy to have Ultron in his manly body, looking bad-ass again.

Damn, I love how manly this thread has gotten. The appearance of Tom Selleck even in a mere avatar form will do that.

Anyway, I don't mind Adam. I used to even like him a lot. I just don't like his current emo self. Gage ruined Phyla and Heather for me and I don't really care one way or another about Wraith. I guess I'd prefer it if Ronan made it out alive. Him leading the Kree is a pretty cool progression.

Yeah, I do like Ronan leading the Kree. I mean 40 years of a giant head in a jar is enough.

Being emo is typical of being a "main hero" nowadays. Blame society.

Like I said, Wraith is just "there". He's the most randomly fitting character in the story so far, which is not the best reaction to have with a new character.

All Wraith's mini did was prove to the world that Grillo-Marxuach and Hotz need to get to doing a Super Skrull ongoing, like yesterday.

Since they're the foot soldiers, I think they're the most expendable in this war. :o Oh yeah!

Now that Ultron is master of the Phalanx, who do you think is stronger? DC's Hank Henshaw or the Phalanx enhanced Ultron?

They're not gonna die. They're too good a bunch of characters. Some of them, maybe, but not all of them.

Yes.

Just because they're expendable characters as far as the mission goes, doesn't mean they're bad characters.

I didn't say they were. But they aren't the ones I care for the most in this war. If they're willing to risk their lives by all means don't let us stand in their way. We'll still love them for it. We'll sing praises for them. Some even louder than others.

Yeah, well I'll sing their praises even louder if I can continue reading them in post-AC adventures.

I wonder if anyone'll get a post-AC series like Nova did after Annihilation.

If anyone does, it'll probably be Phyla. Marvel seems to have a major hard on for her. :down
