Annihilation Conquest

And due to the three children he has that he knows nothing about, people are going to unjustly think him a ****.

I'm not quite on the Genis bandwagon because I never read him in his solo or in Thunderbolts. I know him from Handbooks and whatnot, but that isn't the same.

I can understand the justification for using Adam Warlock; he was the STAR of many space epics during the 90's, in many ways more so than Silver Surfer was (who still had an ongoing up until the late 90's). Since the name of the game in these Annihilation specials is to dust off/revamp a lot of these space figures, I can see why Adam Warlock would be on the short list, especially for a sequel. In a way, it is a shame that Warlock's still not in control of his memories, because Moondragon was one of his "Infinity Watch" and so he should care somewhat about her death. But, in combination of losing his Soul Gem and being awoken too early from his cocoon, he's all ****ed up.

As for Gabe, I'd ***** if I had the power of Capt. Universe and then lost it, especially if I was still fighting an alien war. At least he went down with guns a-blazin'. Presuming, of course, the Uni-Power doesn't just return and revive him. It isn't impossible. Not likely, but not impossible.

Wraith is just sort of...there. He has a useful power and nothing more. He's the newest character, but so far things just aren't meshing. He isn't, well, Ko-Rel, or Cosmo, who could command attention within 2 issues of something. I still am glad that Ronan & Super-Skrull are still about, doing their thing. And Peter Quill's not dead yet, so who knows what may happen. DnA need to figure out how to do better with Groot, though.

The MESSIAH COMPLEX handbook had a bio on the Shi'ar and while they're usually related to the X-Men, eventually some of the sorts of things that occur in Annihilation events should drag them in, even if they do suck, and exist solely as rip-off's of Klingons. I've yet to read a good story with the Shi'ar within the last decade or longer.

I agree that the Shi'ar should be more involved with AC. I hate how the X-Men only deal them

The fact that the Shi'ar haven't been involved with Annihilation sticks out like a sore thumb. I hate it when editorial demands that major groups or characters that make sense in the context of a story can't be used. Seriously, they had to bar the entire Shi'ar race from being used? They could've at least thrown the Annihilation office a few of those featherheaded freaks. Maybe some isolated outpost that the Wave hits. They could just say the Wave never reached Shi'ar space, but the Shi'ar are supposed to be pretty advanced. That'd be like saying the US wasn't involved in a war, so therefore absolutely nobody born in the United States was involved in or affected by that war at all.

I mean, sure, they threw us Deathcry in Star-Lord's mini, but she sucks and she got blown up anyway. :o

Well, for the same reason they wouldn't involve in Annihilation, they have LESS reason to do so in AC. Mainly because, it doesn't affect them, and charging into a fight against people you've fought wars against for long periods of time isn't appealing.

However, I wish they allowed it to spread. It would be nice seeing more than just some odd squadron of Kree fighting.

Considering the Shi'ar used to rule over the Kree, and have had wars and alliances with the Kree and Skrulls, it makes even less sense. But, then again, they always suck.

The Shi'ar should be destoryed. They're boring, useless and they ruin X-Men stories. :down

ANNIHILATION: CLEANING HOUSE: the end of the Shi'ar. X-Men writers are forced to write stories about the X-Men in a world that hates and fears them, and may have to treat the themes of prejudice seriously without any distractions. The X-Franchise implodes from within. :p

No, Vulcan should just die.

Agreed. Brubaker has done a lot of good for Marvel, but Vulcan was not one of them. He's got yet another X-retcon for an origin for a franchise that needs no more retcons, and is boring to boot. His personality shifts by the story, and he is annoyingly unbeatable.

And he's the primary reason the Shi'ar weren't available for Annihilation. :o

Really? Burn.

Considering Vulcan's nature, he probably wouldn't make a bad villain for an ANNIHILATION III. Aside for Kang, of course. :p

He should be set up as the villain for the third installment of Annihilation, and then Kang should kill him and reveal that he's the true villain. :D

Eh, if Kang is going to show up in an ANNIHILATION sequel, I'd like to see it before 2009. ;)

He's been getting his fair share of beatings post-Deadly Genesis. Hell, Gladiator uppercutted his eye out lol

I see. Yeah, I didn't like DG at all, so I didn't bother. Banshee's pointless death still is sore with me.

If the plane didn't kill him the enormus liver he was packing would have done him in eventually.

Probably. If that's the case, my annoyance shifts from Phyla (who's still inferior to Wendell) to the creators/editors for instituting that stupid handicap. Part of why Annihilation was so much fun is the fact that everyone was at full power and kicking seventeen kinds of ass.

Bah, my bias says Phyla is awesome, so there.

Anyway, following the way that these types of stories usually work, I'm sure Phyla, and every flipping person of note in the Galaxy, will be all powered up for the grand finally.

I mean Galactus wasn't freed from Ahnillus until the final issue or so of the original.

Moon Dragon dying seems kind of lame (even though something tells me she'll be back) but on the plus side is spares us from having to read poorly written trashy lesbo romance. Granted that stuff seemed contained to her mini, thankfully.
