Annoying People in the Movie Theater

I usually get up and move if sitting next to loud people. One time a guy saw me change seats and he said loudly "Guess he don't wanna sit next to black people" No, I just don't want to sit next to loud people of any race.

^That one I will give you, as the guy was just being an ass to be one.

Some of the idiots I encountered at DOFP (spoiler warning for those that haven't seen it):

-People constantly laughing at the first Trask / Dinklage reveal. Apparently, some people are still too immature to take a midget (or is it dwarf for Dinklage?) seriously without acting like a child.:doh::doh:

-People cheering when Storm was killed. I get that Halle as Storm hasn't been the most well received casting choice of all time, but really guys???

-The aforementioned laughing at the first shots of Nixon.

-The last couple times I saw it, I was surrounded by idiots who couldn't shut up through the movie.

My theater had this going on as well with a group right behind me. At first, I didn't know what they were laughing at, but then, EVERYTIME he was on screen I heard it and made the connection.
The interesting thing about that is, Dinklage is a BOSS actor and probably has more money and sick pimping lifestyle than they will ever have. Jokes on them, imo.

I think that's hilarious that people cheered when Storm died (didn't happen in my theater, talking about your notes). I know that I do the same thing when I am pulling for characters to get killed off. I had some folks get a little pissed at me when I yelled at the screen when Spider-man kept freaking crying in SM3 and telling Trinity to just go ahead and die in one of those awful Matrix sequels.

The Dinklage thing has been annoying. I've seen the movie 7 times at 4 different theaters and it has happened pretty much everytime.

The Storm thing happened just once, the first time I saw the movie, but it was annoying since Storm was one of the best things about this movie (as little time as she had) and the best she's been yet (as little time as she had), and that was right when things were getting real in the movie and I was trying to be invested, not distracted by annoying people in the audience.

I can understand ( but hate it ) : pop corn, texting, making comments, even kids ( note : people here don't bring their little kids to movie unless it's for kids ).
Anyway, what I don't understand is people laughing at Peter Dinklage because he is little person, that's baffle me, I can't grasp it. Are these people from the middle ages or what !

There's only been about 3 or 4 times I had to deal with annoying people, thankfully.

I remember seeing Episode 3 the first time and in the scene where Anakin saves Palptine from Mace Windu, there was this middle aged couple making these rather loud obscene noises. That was probably the only time I was "fit to be tied" as they say.But they promptly left before the scene was over.

During the first JJ Abrams Star Trek,I was seated behind and slightly to the right of 4 or 5 black teenage boys that felt the need to underscore certain scenes. Most often it was when a character died to say "SUCKA!" another memorable one was when the Vulcan kids called Spock's mom a W**** and one of them said "Don't talk about his momma like that!" Still annoying.

Seeing the Wolverine and (I think I already posted about this one elsewhere) a group of redneck guys come in and sit in front of me.They weren't loud as much as the guy in front of me kept checking his cell phone every thirty seconds. Here's a clue,if you're expecting an urgent call, don't go to a movie! He eventually moved to the front of the theater to take a call.I moved (one of the rare times I do this) but I was now seated in front of a middle age couple of whom, the wife didn't know how to speak quietly."She's so skinny!I can't understand her!"Like watching Tv on the couch with aunt Agnes and uncle Ned.

When I went to see TPM,there was a small group of guys way in back who decided midway through the movie to yuk it up MS3TK style. After an awkward 5 minutes,a middle aged woman called out "You guys wanna knock it off?"One of them sheepishly replied "Sorry" but they remained quiet.

Why would a 5-7 year old even be in that movie? :wow:

I asked myself the exact same thing just prior to seeing Ghost Rider in the theater. A man brought in a very small boy who couldn't have been more than 5 or 6. Halfway or so through the film, when characters like Blackheart started appearing, the kid was screaming and crying. Did dad (or whoever he was) take the kid out of the theater? Of course not, that would be too logical.

I laughed at dinklage when he came on screen , but not because he's a midget/dwarf but because the footage of him slapping Joffrey kept rolling in my head lol I wasn't that loud but If apologize to the theater if I could lol

You guys do know that there is another topic like this in misc films boards not to be a *****e btw. Anyway, I am a movie buff so I have had my fair share of good, bad, and down right weird experiences in movie theaters that I have posted in the previous topic. I do enjoy watching movies with large crowds as they really add to the experience for certain movies such as horror, comedy, and super hero flicks.

I just smh at the fact that people bust up laughing at the mere sight of a little person.

Like, why is it funny? I don't get it.

You know why it's funny, the same reason anything not viewed as "normal" is funny. The lowest common denominator just can't hold it in for whatever reason.

lol really?

That pisses me off to no end. When a theater is somewhat empty and some people decide to sit right behind me. One time when I was catching a movie with my friend some guy sits right next to him. There were numerous seats available and this guy plops down as if he knew my friend. He didn't have the courtesy to keep an empty seat in between them. I'll never forget the look of horror on my friend's face.

That one is such an easy fix, too. "Sorry guy, that seat is taken". By the time they figure out you were lying, if they ever do, the movie has started and they're sitting somewhere else.

Ya, 2 of my best friends are black and they never act like idiots at the movies. If the loud people were white, Chinese, etc... I would have left the seat the same.

The only thing is when you want to move seats and are with your girl, she thinks it is dumb to move from loud people. She's like "Oh just ignore them and watch" but I can't :o I just know I will get aggravated and make a comment at them if we don't move :o I find it rude as I have paid to watch the movie and being purposely disruptive is just asking for people to lash out at you :jedi

Last movie I watched in a theater where there was someone being rude, was Blades of Glory, and some guy whipped out his phone and made a call, and proceeded to speak loudly, in French. It's not like he got a phone call, he made the stupid call.

That's what made me laugh so much is because my foolish friend didn't bother to say anything. So he sat through the movie feeling violated.

To the people who mentioned that others were laughing at Dinklage in X-men. Yes, it's possible they could just not like midgets/dwarves(I don't know the proper term anymore)but there's also the possibility they were laughing at dat hairdo.

Yea thankfully nobody laughed at Peter Dinklage during my screening of X-Men Days of Future Past. But the proper term I believe is little person not midget or dwarf.

Last 4 years have been so bad, I always wait to go on Tuesdays for new releases. Plus, at AMC theaters, price is half... 4 day wait is so worth it; peaceful, quiet, and cheap.

Well I'm gonna try and catch Dragon 2 and Jump Street right after tomorrow night so I'm sur I'll have a story or two.

I saw Godzilla a few weeks ago. Around 20 minutes in, a woman sitting a few seats down from my friend and I pulled out her phone and did something to it that made bright lights flash out of it as if she were taking about 100 photos a second. She did it three times.

A few weeks ago when I went to see TASM 2, a mother and her several (4) young sons took their seats a couple of rows in front of me. The kids were quite annoying (kept switching places...) I told myself "Oh f***ing kids... This won't go well" and I kinda was.

One of the kids took out his smartphone and filmed the scene when [BLACKOUT]Peter and Stacy were having their chat before Electro's attack on NYC[/BLACKOUT]. The mother didn't notice at all before a man told her about it... And she was sitting right next to her son.

Little kids with those shoes that light up. Stop.
