Any word on the spring update yet? And what would you like to see in it?

It seems to happen randomly to me. Sometimes there wont even be that 5 seconds, I'l just turn it on, and it'll all come up. Sometimes it'll make me sign into my account manually, and then there may or may not be loading times. And sometimes it signs me in automatically, and it'll take 5-10 minutes to load the blades.

Using Window Media Connect you can actually play files right from your computer, but anything that needs a codex you cant play. You can play things off of data discs too, but once again, if it needs a codex, you're out of luck. Throw me in the boat of people who wish they would throw a bunch of codexs, or a way to install codexs, onto the sytem.

Why though? Theres other means to achieve what your shootin for without the xbox,..
If you're wanting to use the 360 as a as a dvd player or dvd alternative IMHO you're playing with fire.
Most dvd players can already play ISO burnt discs, and if its something like an MKV that you dont want to waste a blank disc on,just run a svideo cable to the tv.
I guess my point is-Why up the usage of a device thats prone to burn out?

My compute isnt in the same room as my TV, so I dont want a wire running through half my house. And yeah, there's alot of stuff I wouldnt waste discs on. It would be nice to be able to just connect wirelessly to my computer, and watch my downloaded Star Trek or whatever in my living room, as opposed to my computer room. And not everyones TV has S-Video (mine does, but not everyones).

And the new models of the 360 arent prone to burn out.

Ok, circumstances for individuals are always different. Not everyone has a computer with a vid card that can run either s , or a composite video cable.
And Im still rolling with the old model. That why "I" wouldnt use it as a dvd alternative.
I guess theres a potential there. If you were doing it the smart way with a usb device,..I can see it.Im sure even the falcons(Im assuming) get their hottest when a discs in the tray.

If tptb ever do decide to go that route. They need to produce some sort of docking station/USB device for the hard drive. It would certainly save on discs if you could slap whatever you wanted on the hard drive and slap it back in the 360.

Mine sometimes takes up to 5 minutes...in fact, I started a whole thread about it that's still on page one, and I'm not the only person to have the problem. So maybe you should learn what you're talking about before talking about your ass, yet again, in this thread.

:whatever: Mine has never taken more than 10 seconds to connect. It's not my problem if yours does. Sorry if your connection/system is s**t.

And the BC list does need to be added to. They added nothing good last time. The BC update is usually right around the system updates. So in a thread about the "spring update" I am more than able to mention BC and how lackluster it has been the past 2 updates.

Stop being so angry, I have no idea what your problem is.

I never disagreed that BC shouldnt be added to. I did disagree with yoru vast overstatment of all that's on it being Halo and Madden

And the load times are a common problem with the dashboard. I never get lag or anything like that, and when I get into a game, even when it's doing the load times, everything runs perfectly. And the fact that I've had several people confirm that it's not just me shows that it's at least semi-common.

If they only fixed problems you had, then there's a chance they never would have done anything about redlights of death. Cause you know, if you never had it happen to you, it must not be a problem.

This is why I'm "so angry." It's because you apparently dont understand that there are problems that while they may not affect you, do affect others. You have no sense of logic, and you're acting like a tool.

I did have the red lights, so ass talking for you goes up 1 point. Congrats :cwink:

You are still way to sensitive about all of this. Calm down, man.

I didn't say they shouldn't fix things that are a problems for people, nor did I say I didn't care about those problems. I said that I didn't care about you having those problems.:o

Anyway, BC is still missing a lot of good games, and hopefully the spring update will bring with it a BC update that doesn't disappoint.

Careful, careful. If you don't care then don't worry about it Geo and just leave it at that.

I merely said that BC is lacking and that my dashboard loads quickly, and he keeps jumping down my throat.

"If they only fixed problems you had, then there's a chance they never would have done anything about redlights of death."

Eh-hem. You see the "THERE'S A CHANCE" part? See, I figured you may or may not have had red lights, and took that into account. And if you dont care, dont say anything about it. It's not that hard. You started all this, not me.

BC games that aren't "Barbie's wonderland" and "Madden whatever year it was" would be nice.

Me replying to what I'd like to see in with the spring update, a wider variety of BC games, because there really are a lot of cruddy games and sports game.

The spring update has NOTHING to do with BC. Also, there's a s**tload of games that are BC, if you think it's only the crap from launch, you're living in the past.

And who knows when it'll actually come out, they have no real schedule for them anymore.

You instantly attacking me, saying I'm wrong and that I'm "living in the past" Complete attitude right out of the box.

I know what's on BC, and they haven't put a game I want to get on there in over a year. There's a s**tload of sports games and Halo on the list.

It's not like I made up a list in my mind and came in here to complain about it. :whatever:

And they typically update BC around the times they do the major updates.

Me retaliating. Re explaining what I said, why I said it in your "spring update" thread, and telling you I know what I'm talking about because I have seen the list that you act like I haven't.

Ok, that was the BC fight, which you clearly started.

If they could reduce the long ass load times on the dashboard when you connect to live, that would be great...

You saying you want to load times shorter, in your classic sarcastic/pissed off way.

Yeah.. those 5 seconds are brutal.

Me making a joke.

Mine sometimes takes up to 5 minutes...in fact, I started a whole thread about it that's still on page one, and I'm not the only person to have the problem. So maybe you should learn what you're talking about before talking about your ass, yet again, in this thread.

You retaliating back in a very angry way, telling me I'm talking out of my ass and to learn what I'm talking about.

And then we come to page two.

There's a recap for you, since you're probably so blinded by anger you can't go back and look at page one. But I never said anything hostile or bad towards you, until you said them first and even then I never attaked you. I try to use logic with you and you tell me that my ass talks.

Man you seriously, seriously need to relax. Every post from you is boarding a violent outburst.

So either stop arguing with me and we'll get your thread back on topic, or I'll just get Matt to shut it and we can start over.

Is there anything in XBL that's like the VC gifts? Where you can buy things for other people? That'd be a cool thing to add.

MARVEL VS CAPCOM FOR DOWNLOAD!!!!!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!

do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You know whats buggin me? It's so simple. The inability to chat with more then one person at once. I hate having to leave my private chats and talk on the Gears servers with my buds because sometimes we talk about "school" related things that I don't want other people hearing.

Ahh, yes! That and multiple video chat!

I see no reason why we couldn't have 4-way video chat, with the screen broken into 4 quadrants with one video on each screen.

Big thumbs up to multiple chat/video chat rooms.
