..because I certainly don't :hehe: :funny:.

Just the other day I had the chance to watch the deleted scenes (always skipped to the 2nd dvd and forgot about the 1st one's extras for a while) and.. let's say there are 6-8 deleted scenes, and he's in -at least- 3 of 'em. And boy he sucks. I always hated the way he acts in the car, while talking with Potts on the phone. That was really really bad, so bland it could be funny.. but it's not.

What's also good about the deleted scenes is that you get to notice Favreau's good discernment: all the deleted scenes added nothing to the movie--plus he left out that stupid scene with the three ****ties that Tony brings to his room in Dubai*. No cheap shot of the girls' asses! Raimi could learn something from that (though he loves to shoot cleavages)

*was it Dubai?

It was Dubai.

And after seeing them, the deleted scenes didn't add much to the film.

Terrence is one of those hit/miss actors. When he hits, he hits hard and when he misses, he misses hard as well. It's just his acting style as well. It can be considered quite unorthodox. I've heard a couple of directors mention how his acting can sometimes be a little hard to work with.

But as for not re-appearing in IM2, I don't know if I feel BAD for him per se...I mean, I still don't know everything about the situation.

I feel bad in the sense that I liked his Rhodey, and I was hoping he'd be back as Rhodey and then War Machine.

"Next time baby" Just doesn't sound as cool now, does it? :hehe:
In the extras, he goes like Oh I so envy you guys and Favreau replies -after a second of hesitation- next time.. someone should freeze that scene and add a huge NOT!!! in front of 'em :hehe:

Him not re-appearing in IM2, I actually do feel bad for him because he did such an amazing job in the first IM, and seeing him not being able to come back for the 2nd took me by surprise.

Don't get me wrong though, I'm really excited for Don Cheadle to be in IM2, but I do think Terrance did a great job.

I feel bad he's not returning, I was hoping Iron Man wouldn't fall prey to the one flaw in Nolan's Batman series...same character, different actor/actress. I think its more with who they replaced Howard with as opposed to replacing Howard. I just don't get the "James Rhodes" vibe from Cheadle, some say Howard sounded wimpy, but Cheadle looks wimpy. He's a great actor, but I don't see him in the War Machine armor.

Yeah i do feel bad i think even after winning oscars he's still an underrated actor and Marvel just ditched him.
I thought he was the perfect James Rhodes

Howard looking for Stark in his house:

"AYEE YO TONYYYYYYYYYYYYYY".

It made me sooo mad.

I feel kinda bad for Terrence Howard, personally speaking, in that after being around for the Rhodey set-up he misses out the chance to play War Machine.

But in terms of the film in general, I don't feel bad at all. Don Cheadle is, in my mind, a much better actor than Terrence Howard, or at least much more consistent. The only doubt I had was would he have the physical presence to be a convincing Rhodey - and the Comic Con footage showed him slipping into that role like a hand into a glove. In my opinion, Cheadle is a more exciting name to add to your all-star ensemble than Howard, so the sequel is going to benefit from the recast.

I sort of disagree. I thought Howard added a lot of legitimacy to the role when he was announced, and really I liked how he played Rhodey and feel he did a good job of capturing the attitude to the character. I mean I like Don Cheadle, but I'm not a huge Don Cheadle fan.

Anyway, I've moved on from it. I mean I wish things worked out and I wish they didn't have to re-cast. Its not as devastating as losing Downey would've been to the movies.

Pretty much what I think, yeah

I'm not a huge fan of either of them, but I agree Howard initially added some legitimacy to Rhodes's role. But he didn't do anything special with it. I'm totally fine with Cheadle. Most important thing to my mind is that the actor embody the character and get along/work well with the director and the rest of the crew. Howard really didn't do that. He turned in a fairly standard performance. Not horrible, not Katie Holmes/Batman Begins....but not on par with what the other main actors did.

I do wish Howard would have been able to continue the role, not only because I thought he did very well in the role but I just hate re-casts, it takes you out of the movie, especially in the future when I will be watching these movies back-to-back.

Heh, the two year gap already did that for me. I know what you're saying about eventually watching them back to back(then it may be true) but so far in theaters unless they trade a guy/girl up in the middle of the movie, well...it won't take me out of the film. Now if I started watching IM2 with Howard playing Rhodey and by the end Cheadle was playing Rhodey, then there'd be a problem.

Terrence has a successful new TV show with Empire. So at this point he's doing fairly well, all things considered.

New interview with Rolling Stone and performance aside it really is not surprising why they cut ties with him. :loco:

I lost brain cells reading that article. It was not because of the mechanics but the content. He's nuttier than squirrel poo.

How can you say that? This interview doesn't even touch on his imaginary PHD in Chemical Engineering from a school he never attended, how he grows his own diamonds, and how he's on the road to curing cancer and all genetic ailments. :o

Just read it and had to drop by just to say wow...

Please, please, never put this man in a room with Kanye West. The results could spell disaster for the universe.

PS: I almost started a new thread called "Terrence Howard IS NOT Rhodey... Thank God"
