Anyone think the FF2 will be better Spiderman 3?

IMO a movie doesn't need a lot to be better than Spider-Man 3, but FF2 looks so good and epic, so I'm sure it will be a lot better than SM3

I don't know...I've liked every part two in a comic book series that has gotten this treatment better than the first or third movie...so...that said...I liked X2, Spidey 2, and Blade II the most...it feels like the middle movies are always a gauranteed win...the movies that bridge the gap to the 1st and third are always the ones that get me excited....but in the end...I look at the movie (if it gets a trilogy treatment) as one long movie...one whole story...so...I'm sure this one is gonna rock! But Spidey has completed its arc...as a whole, I don't hate it, nor do I hate X3.

I agree with everyone saying it won't go near SM3's box office sales. However, I think most fans will enjoy it more than than the first FF, based on the pure awesomeness we're seeing here in the trailers. It seems to be the 2nd films in these Marvel movie franchises that are the best of the series. X2 was my favorite of yjr X-Mens, SM2, again my favorite, and not to jump the gun, but FF2 looks to be following in this tradition.

It is also my personal opinion that Blade 2 was the best of that trilogy. Up next, the Incredible Hulk.

I have high hopes for FF2, I just hope to God Alba's acting and annoying high pitched voice doesn't ruin the movie because if FF2 fails then it's going to be end of it(unless dvd/hd sales comes swooping down like mighty mouse saving the day) and any hopes for a SS movie.

I've observed the FF2 trailers(especially the new Tv spot, which was awesome)and I must say, this will be great. Than I thought, what if this film is better than Spiderman 3? The plot has a balanced central story and the Surfer looks nicee!


Anyone think FF2 has a good chance of reaching or nearing Spiderman 3's box office gross? Or will be better than Spiderman 3?

It will not reach Spider-Man 3's boxoffice #'s. If it does 400 WW, it will be considered a huge suscess. I predict 200 domestic, 200 to 230 overseas. 400 to 430 WW. t: 80 opening weekend.

It has the potential to reach Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Peril with 300 domestic and 600 WW. This will be the surprise of the summer at the box office.

And do any of you realize that if this movie doesn't reach blockbuster standards, we will never get to see a Silver Surfer movie and/or Galactus for that matter.

So support this movie as much as you can because I know this will be a great movie.

Financially better than Spidey...sadly no....but a better story and more enjoyment...easily by far....like one of our other discussions in another post, I haven't seen anything yet that is making me cringe or want to cry...all has been incredible and we know Fox, despite a LOT of their flaws, their marketing department for the most part, is unparalleled(sp?)...

FF2 will never equal SM3 in terms of box office. It won't even reach SM1. But Spidey 3 was so sappy with Peter whining through the movie I expect FF2 will blow it out of the water in terms of storyline. Plus it doesn't hurt to have one of the most powerful beings ever created in your movie.

Dude, a whooooole lotta fans thought Spiderman 3 was ridiculous.
I've watched Spider-man 1 & 2 many, many times - but I have no desire to ever see Spidey3 again.
The "Emo Peter Dance-a-thon" alone made Spidey 3 more painful than I care to think about.

Personally, if I enjoy FF2 half as much as Spider-man 2, I'll be one happy fan.

What is ridiculous is people spewing their opinions like they are facts.

You'll note that most of the regulars around here make a point of using phrases like "I think" and "In my opinion."
It's called civil discourse.

Bottom line is that FF2 isn't out yet, so this is kind of a pointless discussion right now.
How 'bout we table the debate til June 15th?
I don't think most of us really feel like watching this devolve into a petty quarrel over the merits (or lack thereof) of the other Marvel franchises.
