Application:The Future RPG (Name in Progress)

I know one can't really mix two classes, but would I get away with having my character be both an Assassin and a Bounty Hunter, depending on what he's getting paid to do (Killing them or bringing them in alive.)

We're going to allow a little wiggle room with the classes. So, you can be a Bounty Hunter who ends up killing people because he likes it, or an Assassin with a heart who tries to avoid unnecessairy bloodshed.

That'll work, thank you.

Also, in case anyone's wondering, terrorists and guerilla fighters would fall under the catagory of soldier, unless they have specialties that would classify them as spies or assassins.

Hm... When you type up the factions, can I reserve a character, even if just by listing a race, class, and aforementioned faction?

Well, there's no need to reserve a character, as you're crating the character. You only need to reserve characters if they're pre-existing.

Definitely have five interested parties. Now just need the approval from MB and Twy. Course that'll probably come once the RPG's backstory is finished.

Well, we've already worked out some stuff since the history was posted. If we just buckle down with that, it'll be pretty easy.

Well me and Doom talked it over a little bit today so if he tells you what we have than I'm sure well have this baby up and running in no time.

And Dang Question you sure are all over this thing.

The only think that's bothering me is the Ravagers, mainly because they're an aweful lot alike the Reavers in Firefly. Don't get me wrong, I like havng a race that, to all other races, seems like this unstoppable, vaguely parasitic or viral force of destruction that they're all scared ****less of, but I think we could get a bit more creative with it.

Well I've actually never seen Firefly..... I actually got the idea from Marvel Zombies but I see you're point I guess I could try to make them different than most zombies. Maybe they could use weapons and stuff.

Well, what REALLY seperates the Ravagers from the Reavers, is that Ravagers are completely sane. They still have access to the intelligence they had before they were infected. But Reavers, they're crazier than a 3 dollar bill. Reavers don't care about the other races, really. They're just crazy. But Ravagers are aware of what they are doing and are constsantly searching for a cure. They KNOW that they're killing innocent people, but they can't help it. They HAVE to feed. But, if you still think it needs more work, I'm sure Jinn wouldn't dissapoint. After all, HE made em'.

Granted they are similar to the Reavers, but the intelligence factor is a major difference. Personally, I think they're fine, but that's just me.

Man, when are we gonna get approved?:csad:

Like I mentioned above, they're probably waiting to see the backstory of the game before approval. I know it's what I'd do in their shoes.

Alright, then. I'll post that backstory.

Alright, folks. Factions:

The Mold: When the question of the civil liberties of Robots turned into a full blown rights movement, The Mold, an organization of militant guerillas fighting for Robot Rights by any means necessairy, appeared. They're scattered all over the universe, pulling off bombings, kidnappings, robberies, and so on to get the point across. In their minds, there is a war on that will not end until Robots are veiwed as full citizens by the UA. Naturally, of course, there will be some members who, if peace is ever acheived, simply won't know how to stop fighting. Their chain of command is the same as the Earth Military.

The Universal Alliance: The Alliance of millions of worlds across the universe. Their meeting place is Alliance Planet, a prosperous world covered mostly in jungle and decorated with centuries old architecture as well as modern technology. The meeting hall of the UA is Alliance Hall, in the capital city of Ninpa. The hall is fitted with a space/time compressor, which allows it to house the millions of deligates who atend meetings regularly, and allows time to flow in such a way that all can voice their opinions without the meeting lasting forty years.

Tuntan: The military force of the UA.

Contan: The police force of the UA.

The Knights of the North Star: Solar-powered peace-keepers and upholders of justice throughout the universe. They don't answer to any type of government, but instead, act on their own free will to ensure the safety of the universe.

Society of the Mind: A Setzer-established group who recruit others of different races with strong mental abilities. They scour the universe for evil, and eliminate it at all costs. They are fierce rivals with the Knights of the North Star.

The Red Republic: A group of humans who believe that mankind is the dominant race of the universe, and that all other races are freakish monsters. They are lead by the Crimson Council.

Of course, these are merely the universal faction. Individual planets' governments, militaries, and police forces also exist, as well as countless crime syndicates across the cosmos.

Also, one last race before we start. I swear, they're the last:

Falatangu: The origional inhabitants of the planet Mars. Millenia ago, they had a prosperous civilization. However, by the time human colonists found them, there were incredibly primitive, living in underground caverns and only journying to the surface for water. To clear the planet for terraforming, the humans forced them to leave their homeworld. Now they are nomads, living on the fringe of society and doing their best to survive. They're tough as nails, and they generally don't like humans.
Stats: Darkvision (can see in near perfect darkness); Burrowing (Falantangu are highly skilled and digging and mining, and have a great deal of knowledge about geology); Riding (since their exile, the Falatangu have mastered the art of mounted travel, and are experts in the use of mounted creatures from across the universe); Weaponers (Falatangu are considered some of the best weapon makers in the universe, at least when it comes to melee weapons); Falatangu cannot survive in ogyxen environments, and need Carbon Dioxide tanks to breath in non Carbon Dioxide environments.
Strength: Less than a human
Speed/Reaction Time: Slightly quicker than a human
Endurance/Durability: Much more than a human
Agility: Less than a human

The history's coming soon.

Okay, everyone. Here is the history of this universe:

Earth: It was a world full of war and wonder. A world inhabited by a young race of beings known as Man or, humans. Over the years, humans have been able to influence their surroundings in new and often dangerous and unexpected ways. Man had evolved from undersea creatures, to land mammals, to the upright beings they are today. However, Man was not yet done with evolution. Some humans began developing strange new abilities. Some used their newfound abilities to fight crime and protect the innocent. While others used their powers in more selfish ways.

Now we go to a world many, many lightyears away from Earth. This world is known as Varn. It is an incredibly dark and evil place, completely covered in a black fog that poisons any creature not native to Varn. On this planet, there lived the Varnor. The Varnor are an evil race of spectral-like beings. They have no true physical form, instead, they "possess" inanimate objects and use them to influence the physical spectrum. While the Varnor may only be able to physically harm you when they have possessed an object that would allow them to do so (a suit of armor, a sword, a gun, etc. They usually prefer cloaks and weild long, poison-tipped swords), they CAN poison or telepathically harm you.
This world was soon discovered by a Carpen (a race of beings who resemble humans but are much stronger) known as Xandir Karn. When Karn discovered this world, he is horrified, and fears that the entire universe will soon be consumed by this evil. Karn gathered many of his race and formed a resistance whose goal was to defeat the Varnor and wipe them from the face of existance. Eventually, a group of intergalactic police known as The Protectors, came and discovered planet Varn, as well as Karn's resistance. They decided to help him and gave him a weapon of incredible power, sword, which Karn used to become an increasing threat to the Varnor.

The Varnor decided that it was time to destroy their enemy, Karn, and his allies, as well as the Protectors. They attacked a freighter near Karn's homeworld. This freighter was piloted by Karn's sister, Sy. They captured Sy and took her to the surface of their homeworld where she soon succumbed to the poisonous atmosphere, and died. The Varnor then stripped her of everything but a necklace she wore, and kept her body intact. When Karn discovered the body of his beloved sister, he took the necklace (which was, as the Varnor predicted, a precious family heirloom), and traveled to the Protector headquaters of Tamriel 0, in order to enlist their aid once more.

Little did he know, a Varnor Infiltrator had hidden itself in the necklace that belonged to Karn's sister. Once Karn reached Tamriel 0, the Varnor left its hiding place and headed towards the Sword of the Gaurdian (which supplied energy to all the Protector swords throughout the universe). There, the Varnor introduced a virus which infected the Sword and, in turn, every Protector in the universe. Soon afterwards, the Protectors were destroyed by the virus which had plagued thwm, including Karn (who caught it from a female Protector he had made love to). With no one left to oppose them, the Varnor took over Tamriel 0 and rebuilt the planet in THEIR image.

Word of Tamriel 0's fall reached Earth, and the heroes left the planet to defeat the evil which they feared would eventually reach Earth. Sadly, the Varnor proved too much for the heroes of Earth, and they were beaten, unmasked, and executed.

Soon, Earth's villains made their move, and attempted a world-wide take-over. However, the villains became too greedy and began fighting each other, starting a large-scale war that destroyed many of Earth's greatest cities.

Years later, a group of powerful peace-keepers arrived on Earth and were shocked at how ravaged the planet was. These beings consisted of many races, and they formed an alliance known as the Knights of the North Star. The Knights believed that Earth's corruption would prove too much for even THEM to handle, so they allied themselves with a race of poweful beings who fought evil using psionic weapons and telekenesis. They are known as Setzers.

Soon, they wiped out the evil that had plagued Earth for so many years, and brought about a new wave of peace for the blue planet. The Knights gave them a new source of energy, the same source they used to power their weapons and armor. The Knights' technology was solar-powered by the North Star (which is a sun many times larger than ours). They developed a way to harness the power of their sun even from billions of lightyears away. With the Knights' new source of power, pollution came to a stop, and our technological advancements skyrocketed. Earth began creating space-crafts to explore the universe and discover new planets and galaxies. They soon formed an alliance with the many planets they had found, and they began calling themselves the Universal Alliance. The rest, as they say, is history.

That's basically the gist of it.

By the way, I just want to let everyone know: The Kazarians are NOT anthropomorphic. Well, not entirely. It says in the list of races that they are cat-LIKE people. Basically, they have fur on their shoulders, fore-arms, and lower-legs (not the thighs). They also have cat ears and tails. Their faces look human except for their animal-like teeth. They also have clawed hands abnd feet.
Also, Setzers CANNOT create psionic guns. They can't make anything with internal machinery because it takes FAR too much mental strain. Many DO, however carry guns with them and create psionic ammo for them.

Honestly, I think it would be better if they were more cat like than animal like. We have too many races that look alot like humans as is.

That's a pretty fascinating story you guys have come up with. I especially love the part with Earth's superheroes and villains, as it makes me think it's possible this might have been the Marvel or DC universe. (I know it's not, but you get my point :woot:)

Okay..best name ever.

Also glad to have you back in the saddle Q...don't dissappear on us again! :cmad: We missed you. :csad:

Okay, sorry it took so long peeps, I had a death in the family and everything has been busy recently, or I would have posted sooner. >.<

You by all means, have my approval!

I don't know what MB will say *probably yes*, but other than his word, you're good to go

Approved. Let's make this happen.

Alright, we're in buisness. Now we just wait for LD to get back and we can set up the OOC thread.
