ARC LIGHT: The Official Character Discussion Thread

I think the main problem I have with using a character like Arclight or Stacey X is the fact that there are much more prominent characters and villians that can be used for a film of this calibur. Use the good ones that we have all learned to love (or hate).

The only thing that classifies a good X-Men character is their popularity and history in the comics...Just because they're not very popular, that doesn't mean that they're not worth bothering with...

There are alot of good characters out there that haven't had the opportunity to shine alot...These X-Men movies have made good use of putting lesser-known and/or new renditions of characters...I have no doubt that they'll give Arclight and the other plot-movers (Multiple Man) alot of memorable moments in the film...

Exactly. Arclight was a big part of one of the biggest X-Men crossovers in history. She is a perfectly fine choice to be featured on film.

She most certainly is Arclight, no doubts now...

Even qualifying the name by creating an electrical arc as she claps her hands together.

My only concern is that the electrical arc is a little too much like Storm's lightning (which we also see). I'd have liked a bit more differentiation there, even if the powers themselves are very different the effect seems similar.

My guess is Arclight will make some sort of a shockwave with her hands... the electricity is just for show.

But I'd rather the electricity somehow looked different! Another colour or a slightly less lightning-like effect.

I'm not to familiar with Archlight. I don't remember her shockwaves or w/e being purple. Is there a reason, or is it just for looks?

Yeah...A difference is that Arclight has superhuman strength and resistance...

I think her shockwaves work a little bit differently than Avalanche's too...She sends shockwaves through anything...I think Avalanche's powers were a bit more limited..

The purple gloves that Arclight wears might also play a factor in the purple hue in the energy she creates through her hands...(Arclight has purple hair in the comics, too..)

I think she looks pretty good in the film ... granted the 'effect' of her shockwaves kinda resembles Storm's lightning a little too much for my liking, she looks like she's going to get some good effect shots in it.
