I'm guessing I wasn't the only one who wanted him to bite the bullet.

When someone has previously been infracted for posting a Sam Jackson picture with one curse word in it....posting a 38 minute Sam Jackson curseathon gets you probation.

It makes sense. It was a dumb move, especially when he point out a quote with curse words in it.

The real Samuel L. Jackson posts on Tumblr and his tweets are often hysterical. I can't wait for the NFL playoff and the Winter Olympics because the man goes into overdrive. SLJ's color commentary on even the most obscure sports is always funny as hell. Reading his tweets is better than watching a stand-up routine. And he usually doesn't really curse, he just makes up fake words to replace the bad ones.

I know for instance on old boards I was on Bruce Timm and some of the creators from the Timm-verse would post, but then it was the mods who created their IDs and they gave them special insignias and what not.

I am sure celebrities post on MBs. They get bored too and though all of them will probably deny it. I think they get a little thrill reading all of our obsessive posts about them...lol

I figure it probably happens more often than one would think but there's really no way to know.

Although personally if I were in the public eye I like to think I'd try to avoid discussions about myself as much as possible. EVERY celeb has people hating them to hilarious and sad degrees somewhere on the net. My ego's already fragile enough.

The mods on the forum I was referring to asked people at production companies if the actors posting there were the real deal and got confirmation. They didn't use their real names when registering, of course, but fans caught on that something was up because the actors' posts gave away info that only insiders could have.

These were soap opera forums back before most of the US soaps were cancelled. One of the actors joined the forum to defend his own reputation, the other was sticking up for an actress who was almost universally hated when she took over a beloved role. That was one of those Batfleck-style fandom-wide revolts that the producers couldn't get a handle on. Sometimes the producers themselves would have staffers act as sock puppets on forums. It's human nature to get upset when you read things about yourself or your friends that you don't like. Now there's Twitter for meltdowns so I doubt that sort of thing happens much anymore.

I don't know. MBs offer anonymity to say what's on your mind without backlash from the media. If you say something foul on twitter then pretty soon someone will want you to apologize for offending someone. People are so easily offended these days.

Anyhoo...back on topic. El Payaso was a funny guy or gal and I miss his avatar popping up now and then. His avatar rocked!

Temporarily. Then he was unbanned and later came back under another name claiming he had his old one deleted (it wasn't) and that he Googled himself to see who was talking about him afterwards and to deny he was looking for attention (he was/is).

Heh, I noticed that too. I was gonna warn him, but I didn't because the whole "pretending to be Sam Jackson" shtick got annoying. I didn't expect him to get put on probation for it. I don't think I've ever heard anyone get probanned for posting a video with cursing, just infracted.

we definitely have some comic artists on the boards, some who have openly admitted it as well. sadly in the past, some of the "celebs" who have joined, vacate because of stupid people harassing them just to make themselves feel cool. it's a shame really

That is a shame. I do remember Casper Van Dien posting here once upon a blue moon ago...but I wouldn't doubt he met someone who is...not so nice here on the Hype who probably drove him away. le sigh...it was probably by someone who has been banned and lamented in this thread.
