Dan Slott, Howard Mackie, Jamal Ygle used to pos here if i remember correctly.

Back when Punisher; warzone was still in production, the director, Lexi Alexander used to post on the punisher board as well.

That turned out to not be Lexi after all.

I seem to remember Christopher Yost posted here a few times while Earth's Mightiest Heroes was still on.

Here's a sketch Jamal did for me this earlier this year....unfortuantly I still can't get him to post here again after the way some people treated him.

That was a bogus Lexi? wow...i remember how convincing it was.

That's a shame...what happened?

Alot of CB artists and writers posted pretty regularly on the CBR forums...which i don't get because the posters there are a lot less friendlier towards them than the posters here.

I mean, we see people here in hot discussions all the time. They keep coming for more. And I think they are as good/bad/touchy/resilient as anyone else. So yes. Really.

Not that I would blame those artists if they don't want to keep coming. But it's internet forums we're talking about here, and these places can be tough, that's common knowledge.

He still sending me scripts....I'm a cat owner, so they become useful. :o

I really don't think UlimateHero was in the 'business'. He spoke so openingly about how he's a big up and coming screenwriter in Hollywood. But who isn't?

Ken Levine (Bioshock) said that in Hollywood, they're pamper you until the lake runs dry. Then you'll end up being 'writer #1,000,002'.

Not to say there isn't longevity in the business, but you have to be a smart and GOOD person. Modesty plays a role here. Bragging isn't going to take one anywhere because one day, it might mean squat.

You're speaking about "Ultimate Hero" in the past tense?

I don't think it was "hot discussions" that made some talented/famous people leave. I'm sure a lot of it was having to deal with numerous posters calling BS on who they were.

He got temp banned, which was lifted like a month or so ago, but he hasn't come back, at least not to any of the hype sections that I frequent.

Ah. Good, I think he was a pompous buffoon.

People on internet didn't believe them. Big deal. Do they need to be recognized and praised or nothing?

He was, wasn't he? That UlimateHero. I think he lied his arse off.

Yeah people on here treat some of these guys like **** when they post here. I mean, I hate Bendis writing but if he posted on here I wouldn't go out of my way to troll him.

It's because when you're online, some folks get vocal and don't know how to gauge themselves. It's almost as if it's rewarding to tear down any person, be it a celebrity or whatever, due to their deep seeded problems in the real world. Projection is the word.

It has nothing to do with being recognized or praised.

I think it's great some talented/famous people like to talk with the fans. If they didn't tell the posters on message boards who they were, the fans wouldn't know to ask them questions about their current and future work so it would be kind of pointless.

They can have an online site for themselves, with Q&A sessions where they can filter the messages, etc. But internet forums are like these all over the cloud, and everybody knows it.

I imagine it would be easier for them to simply make a username on a forum rather than set up and maintain their own personal website. Especially with how busy I'm sure a lot of them are.

Then they'd better go back to work instead.

Internet sites DO NOT have to accept that it is the internet so the posters can be a holes. We do not allow people to act that way here.

Jamal was insulted in a personal way. He endured not only crap about his artwork (you can see an example of how good he is in my previous post) but racist and reprehensible posts about his family (I very happily banned those idiots).....but He does not feel like returning here.

I go to lots of conventions and have met over a hundred celebs of all areas (actors, comic artists, writers, etc) and I always mention the Hype and ask them to visit us....I have had several that said they have, were insulted by our posters, and didn't come back.

Civillity....people on the internet really need to learn that being civil will not burn you....but being uncivil can ruin many opportunities.

Actor Larry Holden (DA Finch in Batman Begins) came here when the movie came out...some gave him crap not believing it was him....I talked to him and got him to post a pic of himself holding a sign saying hello posters at Superherohype. We talked in emails for several years, he sent me signed BB items, he sent me a DVD of an independant movie he wrote and directed called MY FATHER'S HOUSE.....others are probably still boasting to their basement buddies that they talked **** to someone claiming to be an actor..........

The sad thing about Larry Holden (who was also in Nolan's Memento) was that he passed away back in 2011. Too young, too soon.
