Internet sites DO NOT have to accept that it is the internet so the posters can be a holes. We do not allow people to act that way here.

Jamal was insulted in a personal way. He endured not only crap about his artwork (you can see an example of how good he is in my previous post) but racist and reprehensible posts about his family (I very happily banned those idiots).....but He does not feel like returning here.

I go to lots of conventions and have met over a hundred celebs of all areas (actors, comic artists, writers, etc) and I always mention the Hype and ask them to visit us....I have had several that said they have, were insulted by our posters, and didn't come back.

Civillity....people on the internet really need to learn that being civil will not burn you....but being uncivil can ruin many opportunities.

Actor Larry Holden (DA Finch in Batman Begins) came here when the movie came out...some gave him crap not believing it was him....I talked to him and got him to post a pic of himself holding a sign saying hello posters at Superherohype. We talked in emails for several years, he sent me signed BB items, he sent me a DVD of an independant movie he wrote and directed called MY FATHER'S HOUSE.....others are probably still boasting to their basement buddies that they talked **** to someone claiming to be an actor..........

That's really unfortunate. If actors, writers, celebs, etc want to come here and post and interact with fans, they should be able to do so without getting flack from anyone. I guess the main thing would be for them to just prove who they are (with a picture saying "Hi Hype" or something like that like you mentioned) just so someone doesn't come here and con the rest of us into thinking they're someone that they're not.

Then they'd better go back to work instead.

You're ridiculous and seem like the type that would jump at the chance to talk crap to celebrities out of jealousy...which is usually the case with "fans" who hate on successful people.

Honestly, what the hell have you done in your life?

The sad thing about your responses to my posts is that you're implying that it's the celebrities fault they are having **** thrown at them by a bunch of immature fanboys...and that they deserve it.

Senator seems to be an odd one who lacks any sort of perceptive. Not worth arguing.

Unfortuantly, too many children today think that access to the internet is the world saying go forth and be as big a dick as you want. Well, some sites allow this....we don't want it here.

I wonder if it's a way to 'reinvent' themselves, by having an online persona where they can't project onto others. Some of these people can't be that unlikable/combative in real life I hope.

Of course it is...if they acted that way in real life they would spend all of it drinking their steak through a straw because their jaw would be constantly broken. The anonymity of the internet allows people to act like jerks without any repercussions....well, the length of this thread says there are some repercussions around here. You are not required by law to act like a jerk on the internet...it is a choice....and like in real life, people should not have to be constantly accosted by jerks just because they feel like acting like one.

I tend to quite enjoy Pleasury's posts, so I presume he is trying to be tongue in cheek.

I think it's right to give everyone a chance, whether a random noob or a celeb in disguise. I would even try to be polite to Rob Liefeld, and that would kill me inside.

Yeah people on here treat some of these guys like **** when they post here. I mean, I hate Bendis writing but if he posted on here I wouldn't go out of my way to troll him.

It's stupid. Dan Slott had a guy following him around from site to site trolling him constantly at one point. If people think they can harrass someone with no repercussions they'll do it. If one happen to has a little bit of fame it's like a beacon to these idiots.

Then they'd better go back to work instead.

Attitudes like this is why we can't have nice things.

So true.

:funny:

Rob Liefield gets only props on what he has done to help out the indie comic book scene with Image not his awful art or writing. Even then, it took Image nearly two decades before it got to where it is (Walking Dead, Saga, etc). Because back then, Image was all about pouches, headbands, grimaces, swords and guns, feathered hair and stubby arms.

I think Top Cow still retained the old Image guard till this very day.

Rob is a hell of a nice guy and loves talking comics, but he'd never be able to post here if word got out who he really was.

You are forgetting torso-sized breasts and tiny, tiny pointed feet.

In fairness, I like to bust balls here and there, but mainly just the people who've tried to bust mine first. Parker Wayne, DarkSentinel, etc.... I'm not going to see some new poster claiming to be so-and-so, immediately crawl up their ass and go "BULL****, YOU ARE NOT ________, GIVE ME PROOF OF I.D. EITHER WAY YOU SUUUUUUUCK." That **** is just uncalled for. :o

There's why acting civil works, even if there's doubt. Some people are too emotional immature to understand that.

I think that, rather than directly asking questions about feet, I would try to subtly reference them in every post.

I.e.- what was your foremost career feet? Would Beowulf defeet Superman? How many feet tall is Psilence meant to be?

I find it sad about what happened to Jamal because he was a really nice guy. I remember messaging him to and enjoying his posts talking about how he does his artwork among other things.

Unfortuantly, too many children today think that access to the internet is the world saying go forth and be as big a dick as you want. Well, some sites allow this....we don't want it here.

And this is why this is the only internet forum I regularly visit every day. I know this place gets criticism for being too uptight sometimes, but this is the only forum in which I am free to say my opinion and know I won't get trolled, cursed at, or flamed for stupid reasons.

Tried? I'm not Sentinel. :o

Yeah, I wouldn't do that either. UltimateHero's a different case as he tried constantly to pull that "I work in the industry" BS whenever he was in an argument (and hell, he would mention that several times a week).

Yeah, UltimateHero was just kind of a pain in the ass to read his posts alot of the time.

He remains the only person I have seen write the sentence "I'm talented" without a hint of irony or self effacement.

That must mean he is either wonderful, or rather narcissistic.

Remember Ultimatehero's Getaway crap?

How could you not?

"I have a friend who worked on this movie but I wasn't involved and I am not affiliated with this movie even though I posted a ton of advertising materials for the movie and my avy, sig, and user title have to do with Getaway"

I still find it hard to believe he's actually in the industry when a lot of his opinion were crap and he rarely demonstrated that he actually knew anything about film business.

He is. He had these weird posts in the lounge once where he kept calling him god and calling himself a superhero because he was an orphan. I would understand if it was tongue-in-cheek if he did it once, but he did it repeatedly in the lounge thread.
