I didn't agree with what Project Pat said to him that started the whole thing but jmc did come from the movie boards and his expletive laced tirade against anyone that disagreed with him is a pattern of behavior easily recognizable for those parts.

Well, ProjectPat does get highly defensive about his videogames. Trust me, there's been about 4-5 times where I've had a different opinion than him on a game, and he just went off on me.

But he's pretty cool if you're on the same page as him. Just don't disagree with him. t:

Every forum has bad apples, including this (community) one. Some just have more than others. The Bat boards have a lot more, so it's a shame if you're rational and want to talk about him.

That is why I don't visit most of the movie forums. Too many bad or at least sour apples.

Discussing or criticizing anything "not approved" by certain members gets you basically run off the forum.

Yes. I stopped visiting the movie forums for the most part as well.

You shouldn't be put off. It's when forums become inhabited by a mono-opinion that they become unbearable.

I do make the occasional venture in there but when you have the noisiest and most out-spoken fans running it, it becomes hard to give a dissenting opinion without it bordering on all out war.
