Transformers Are you fine with Megatron as a Cybertronian Jet?

I would be totally fine with that. Tank, Gun, Cannon are all acceptable interpretations of Megatron IMO. I think the important thing is to keep the sprit of the character both visually and with attitude.

But I mean how would that work on screen? Seriously folks. Unless a tank were part of a column... where it advanced as a force... it's pretty vulnrable (against a military like U.S.'s at least). A simple bomb from a jet or helicopter anti-tank gunship would take it out.

If ALL the decepticons were Tanks it would make sense. But Megatron the ONE lonely tank. That's not "powerful."

It'd be cool if the alien jet is shaped triangular pyramid-esque... like Starscream and Friends' alt-modes on Cybertron. It would be completely "Bizarro" for Megatron.... but then what isn't in this movie (the whole movie is Bizarro Transformers)??? It would at least be a nice homage.

You are assuming that the materials use to fabricate said tank are terrestrial and are not more durable than you average run of the mill human made tank. With that logic most on the Autobots would be wiped out in like ten seconds by local police and SWAT.

Exactly...Cybertronian metals are much more advanced and durable when compared to terrestrial metals.
Hell...in the comics, Frenzy (6 ft tall tape-Con) could take a tank shell to the chest and all it did was scratch up his chest and piss him off.

Devastator is a Placeholder Name for the tank Decepticon. The name might stick and turn out to really be Devastator. And if so, then he's his own robot...not the Constructicons combined.

The other Placeholder names are:
Helicopter = Vortex
Police Car = Brawl
Stereo = Soundwave

Megatron a Cybertronian Jet? ......../Absolutely Not!

Even tho Megatron has taken on various forms during the Transformer history - a Jet he has never been that my memory can recall.

For the film Megatron a Tank and a lethal one at that.

I have the newer Megatron as a Cybertronian Jet, and thats my favorite one.
He looks so kick-ass as the jet.
He could have two transformations though.

I personally like the Energon Megs design... sorta an SR-71 from hell. Works for me. Personally tho, I think Megs should be a triplechanger tank/jet. I personally hope the movie Megatron personality is nothing like the G1 personality. I recently watched the first season, and Megatron was annoying and stupid. I much prefer the later incarnations of Megatron where he's actually a strategist and actually does evil, rather than just laugh maniacally and whimper when the Autobots shoot at him once.

I realize the one and only point to the Transformers is to sell toys, but at least give us a Megatron with the castiron manifolds to wreck havok on the population of earth.

I like the idea of Megs being a triple changer. He's The Man after all... The Most advanced Transformer (yes, moreso than Optimus and only challenged by Shockwave... in the original comic story anywayz).

I think the tank is cool. A gun would look out of place in a live action movie. He shouldn't be a jet, that's Starscream's thing.

I' m cool with the jet idea... I do like the tank idea more though. I think that if they made him a gun, it would just come across as silly.
