Argylle

That teaser didn't exactly get me on board but it is a teaser after all.

So the rumours that Bryce Dallas Howard was the actual protagonist were true. I have to say I did not expect this kind of meta comedic thing but depending on execution I could very much end up preferring it! It certainly looks up Vaugn's alley and the cast is really good. I'm there for it.

Reminds me a bit of that Sandra Bullock / Channing Tatum movie where she is also a writer who gets caught up in a real life adventure. Obviously that’s where the similarities end.

I agree, it looks like a lot of fun!

Also, kitty!

Few can do it to their benefit, and I hope Vaughn continues to make it work. I know his films get released by big studios, but MARV productions have that sort of "economical expertise" homegrown vibe to them that I've always found charming.

I used to be a big Vaughn fan but the Kingsman movies really tired me out on him. This looks fun (though kinda ugly) and the cast looks good especially Bryce who I love. Hopefully this is like more his pre-The Golden Circle movies.

Yeah, Dua Lipa looking like a literal angel in this one

Yeah, CGI ain't great
But I'd be there for Sam Rockwell alone
Has he ever gotten to kick ass in a movie before??

Another Kingsman movie would have been a lot more interesting than this.

Ahh ok, never saw those, either of 'em worth a watch?
Mr. Right is dumb fun with him, Kendrick and a delightfully scenery-chewing Tim Roth. Seven Psychopaths is probably McDonagh's weakest movie, but is carried by incredible performances from Rockwell and Christopher Walken. I'd say both are worth a watch.

As for this movie... I'll check it out for Rockwell and BDH, but the CGI looks abysmal.

By the way the fact they originally promoted the film as a straight spy movie with Henry Cavill as the hero, based on a yet to be written novel by first time writer Elly Conway, who se turned out to be Bryce Dallas Howard's character from the film itself, is some brilliant meta **** there.

Interesting concept and trailer, i'm not hyped but im intrigued and wanna see a second trailer. I love Matthew Vaughn though so its no doubt going to wacky and fun.

Poor Henry, is he ever going to get a proper leading role? :funny:

It looks like a lot of fun. Awesome cast. Definitely more interested in this than more Kingsman bull****.

My prediction… the real Argylle will actually be Cavill too and the twist will be that he was somehow subliminally feeding Bryce’s character details on his missions for some reason. I’m not sure how that would work but this movie clearly isn’t going for realism (none of Vaughn’s movies do).

i like the premise and of course the cast but the cgi looks abysmal

I guess the bad CGI doesn’t bother me because I feel like Vaughn’s films have always had goofy CGI and you just kinda have to roll with it.

Yeah it seems to fit his style in general and the tone of the film specifically, where reality blends with fiction. Also there might be a couple of really bad moments of VFX and green screen, but the movie doesn't bombard you with mediocre/bad CGI in every shot like Quantumania or The Flash, to the point you want to gouge your eyes out, so it doesn't bother me much. At least based on the trailer.
