A group of us have been talking about this project in theory for years. With Hollywood always feeling the need to blacken every suit it just took the incredible game design to get it rolling. The main goal was to show that this type of true representation of the comics would work.

All of us agreed that this was the best movie suit never done as well as the entire game being the film we all wanted to see. And there were so many aspects to it, including the illusive blue and gray of the new city suit, that we wanted to tackle. Some of the goals on the suit were that we wanted the pieces to be accurate like they walked right off the screen.

The whole suit would need to be proportioned to the point that all the pieces worked together to complete the image of the character design. This was tricky due to the fact that no human being in the world is the shape of that guy. Especially the cowl. Also the cross texture of the entire suit must be included and it has to run synced up on all panels as the game suit does, so that all lines intersect at an X throughout the entire suit. We wanted to achieve the right colors and needed them to change dramatically from one light source to another, like the game suit does. Especially the new game where you see a brighter blue cowl in one light and then a seemingly black cowl in another. This went for the gray also as it needed to go dark and also reflect the greens that they used in the game.

The whole suit is weathered to match the grittiness of the game suit and made to be worn. We wanted to follow the same basic design of the movie suits meaning separate sizeable torso, legs, etc… all mounted on an undersuit so that anyone could have it tailored to them the same way the movie pieces can be sized. The briefs were done separate so that the movement would be fluid and the entire muscle set-up should look one piece but move easily. With the cowl being such a unique shape we didn’t want to sacrifice feel so we chose to do two sizes with the cowl. We mounted the City bat in the pics as we are almost done with the add-ons for the boots and gaunts as well as the new belt, and would be completing that suit. But also show how the Asylum bat looks and with a switch of some gear you can go either way.

Let me know what you guys think and I’ll shoot some pics of individual pieces later.

Thanks!

Whoever takes over the franchise after Nolan is done, I hope they hire you and your team. That is an amazing work of art.

And nobody thought grey and black couldn't work! Beautiful job my friend!

Oh wow, that is absolutely stunning. I'd swear I was looking at promotional material for Arkham City. Fantastic, absolutely fantastic!

Absolutely stunning work! But I would have preferred a black cape/coal. Blue makes him look like a toy.

Any chance we might get more pics?

Very cool suit.

But weren't you the one that made the thread claiming this was a possible The Dark Knight Rises suit? :P

Yep it was meant as a joke people can get pretty tight around this forum at times. Also just a convo piece as so many for some reason think the suit design wont work.

The top picture is actually charcoal and darker looking but the suit itself is the Arkham city base with the AA gaunts etc... We are almost done with the new belt etc. The suit in AC is a lighter color gray and blue. It can really be done anyway a person likes of course.

However its all just the lighting in these pics that makes the color look different from one to the next. Whats cool about the lighting in the game is the same that will work in a film. The color changes as the light changes. I hope thats the way they go some day.

I'll shoot some more pics little by little guys and we are doing an almost black cowl with very dark suit and a video short to show movement soon.

Very cool suit! You and whoever made that with you should think about going professional.

I want! Oh man, you guys nailed the AA suit PERFECTLY!

simply mind blowing!! thank you for creating this piece of art!

Wow! Just... Wow! I never usually post in threads like this, but your work here is just incredible! Seriously good job!

As ive said when I saw these pics in another thread, this suit is badass I love it!

I didn't know this is where that image came from. Well done.

Rocksteady should probably hire you guys for gaming events. :D

Seeing this suit just depresses me, because we'll probably NEVER see this in live action. WB clearly needs to take note of this.
I'm sick of every Batman movie copying what Tim Burton did with the black suit. IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE BLACK.

I think most every Bat-fan on this board would need to change their shorts -- repeatedly -- if we ever got such an outfit for a film.

LOL

I'm still not a fan of the oversize gauntlets and shin guards. But as far as a translation goes, that looks 100% faithful to the game, and yes, it would probably be the best suit on screen if it were in a movie.

I'm always going to think tall ears look ****ing stupid, but that's a really great costume.

I guess I should have asked: can he move his neck?:oldrazz:

Oh that is GORGEOUS! GORGEOUS MAN! DAYUM!

That is the best live-action Bat-Suit I have ever seen. You just put a lot of arguments to shame.

Man AA batsuit is the best I don't care what anyone says.
