Yes...and it might be the worst scene in the pilot. Second only to the "why? Because she's a girl?" moment that doesn't hold up to common sense. I enjoyed it overall, it was decent for a pilot, but my god the whenever they try to hit you over the head with WE ARE PROGRESSIVE... The writers are as subtle as a sledgehammer.

there used to be great discussions and dialogues and people that i miss being around

the gamma lounge was pretty notorious way back when. i remember when these things would fill up like 5-10 pages a day and there was hardly any filler.
i guess i kinda miss the "depth" this place used to have. i'm not sure that's the word im thinking of, but we'll use it all the same. and by place, i mean the community forum in general, not just a specific thread

Yeah, they lampshade it in a way I call BS on in the trailer with Cat Grant giving this disingenuous defense of it. Look... I love the character of Kara, and I don't have a problem with calling a female super hero girl... IF THEY ARE AN ACTUAL GIRL. There's a reason Wonder Woman is a feminist icon and part of it is that she's called Wonder WOMAN. There's no paternalism implied with the name. Why did they feel the need to change Sue Storm's moniker from Invisible Girl to Invisible Woman? Because she was a married mother and vet hero over the age of thirty. Calling someone with her history and accomplishments "Girl" is condescending. If you want to do Supergirl, fine, but do just that. Make it a show about a young woman in her teens. There's so much in that trailer, aside from some pretty good SFX work, that for my tastes, shows that this is probably not for me and a lot of it flows from the proposition of what it implies when the show is a about a 24 year old adult that they've decided to call a "girl".

I am gonna give it it's day in court though and watch the first 5 episodes before I write it off.

Not necessarily here, but certainly in a lot of sections, it's become a hive mind lately. We can't disagree on anything anymore.
