I liked T3 and Salvation just fine,Nowhere near the level of T1 and especially T2 so they are the weakest of the franchise but overall I don't they're that horrible,I have all of them in my dvd collection and still watch all of them during Terminator marathons..Although I do prefer watching the first two much more

Yeah, T1 and T2 are in their own league. T3 was enjoyable. As for T4, I thought it sucked but it's something I can watch again.

I think it's a shame Anton Yelchin wasn't given another chance as Kyle Reese.

And sounded exactly like him. He obviously put a lot of effort into it and it's a shame it was wasted in a movie most people didn't like and now he won't get a chance to reprise it.

Yelchin was definitely the highlight of Salvation when it came to actors.

Yelchin doesn't get enough attention in general, IMO.

About the only thing he's got going for him these days is his pretty thankless role in the new Star Trek.

Which of course is a lot better than nothing, but it doesn't exactly give him much chance to show his acting abilities besides doing a funny Russian accent (irony abounds in a Russian-born Jersey-raised boy with an American accent putting on Walter Koenig's bad Russian accent).

Yelchin is a voice for one of the Smurfs?

I think he's a good actor, but I was not impressed that much with him in TS either. I think the guy has great potential he just has not reached it yet.

Should I make a Terminator Appreciation Thread, so we can discuss things more over there?

There is an older Terminator thread like that somewhere that used to float around. That and I think this one is fine enough.

I'm one who enjoyed Yelchin as a young Kyle Reece,I would have definetly seem him return to the role of they had done a sequel to Salvation

Bale was good as John Connor but something was missing, probably due to the script and direction though

So theres going to be a Terminator 5 and a reboot at the same time?

sigh

I love Bale and he's always been one of my favorite actors but even I could tell he seemed like he didn't really want to be there, something with his performance and the direction of the character just didn't feel right to me.

Some think it's a fad opinion but I didn't care for Bale in Salvation. Of course I blame the script and director in part.

I love how John Connor's look has had no consistency whatsoever throughout all of these movies but the studios are so determined to keep Arnold in it that they might spend millions on CGI to make a 66-year-old look like an unaging robot.

Aside from the fact that it's two different actors, I find it easy enough to believe that Furlong's John grew up to be Stahl's.

But then you throw Bale in there, and now Jason Clarke, and it's like lol wut?

so.....let's say Arnold dropped out and decided not to reprise the role.

who do you think would make for a good Terminator in the reboot?

I could actually believe Furlong would grow into Bale, though. Stahl is who threw me off. And I can't really believe Clarke, but I'm warming up to it. Jason Clarke just looks like the kind of guy you wouldn't **** with in the middle of a post-apocalyptic war.

I do wonder if they'll change his eye color for the role.

On the whole, I thought the cast of Terminator Salvation was good; the problems rested with the story. Returning to the thread at hand, I am excited about Emilia Clark signing on.

Yeah, even though he looks nothing like the others, Clarke does have a very "don't mess with me" type look.

So...by the end of this trilogy, they'll finally show the humans winning the war, right?
