Javier Bardems character in No country for old men is a great example of how a termintor can be played by someone else and it felling scary and threatening.

That was a great scene, too bad it was deleted.

Showing more of the future in this re-imagining would be a choice with cool potential. Maybe having that story run parallell with the present one?

The granddaddy of them all proved that before there even was a Terminator.

Yule Brynner in Westworld.

Agreed. And I think that a similar scene would probably be the only way of using Arnold in the reboot. That, or just insert that scene into the new movie somehow.

Going on the speculation that it will be a complete reboot I imagine that the movie will have a focus on the fact that we as a society have become heavily reliant on computer technology.
Much like the Total Recall and Robocop reboots I imagine that Sarah will be a young good looking 20 something living in a slightly more advanced present time. Perhaps SkyNet will be a known thriving industry already that has a huge grip on the worlds tech.
I also imagine they will play up the aspect that Kyle needs to impregnate Sarah. Perhaps Kyle will come across as a lot more cold and from the future which makes it harder for Sarah to fall in love with him. I dunno

'Much like Total Recall' isn't a good thing.

I agree. What i describes is not really what i want for a reboot but more what i imagine hollywood will give us.

Somewhere between Evil dead 2013 + Robocop/Total Recall remake.

Everything will be shiny and pretty with a coating of attempted "edge".

To be honest though I am kind of excited either way as I know nothing can take away from the originals.

It's so weird how I can barely remember the Evil Dead remake.

Arnold just cannot cut it as a Terminator character, his age is just not appropriate for the character. Its as if Adam West was to play Batman in The Dark Knight Rises

I don't think Megan Ellison and Alan Taylor are the Robocop/Total Recall remake type.

I watched it recently, it's okay but it's so by the numbes in every way possible. I've never been an Evil Dead fan but Raimi's original was more interesting to me.

If this is a full-out reboot, as evidenced by the presence of Sarah Connor and Kyle Reese, then Arnold should not be involved.

His inclusion will just be confusing to people.

I don't get the need to keep him in a reboot. They should take a hint from reboots like 1978 Invasion of the Body Snatchers, The Thing and The Fly. Um try to make a good movie that's based on the previous film but yet is radically different.

That and he's too old to reprise his Terminator role or make sense as its human model considering he doesn't look like the Terminator anymore.

Well with Independence Day 2 delayed till 2016 this gives Terminator more room to breathe.

Eh, I'd rather have a guy who is always enjoyable to watch, even if his inclusion doesn't make sense, than some bland charisma void.

someone said that they would like a story where we see the present and future world run parallell. this is a perfect idea . but since we wont get this i am now angry and sad.

That was me I believe. I had the idea based on the the rumor casting of John Connor. I thought that if they were to cast a big name actor in the role that he might have more screen presence and considering they were casting a young Sarah and Kyle that we might just see the future and past run parallel in the film.

It totally make sense, nanobots can be used for the aging process as well.

I wonder... if the Tom Hardy rumor is true, if he talked to Bale at all about taking the role.

Hardy: So Christian, they've approached me about possibly taking over the role of John Conner.

Bale: Ha! Well, good luck if you do indeed take it.

Hardy: Would you have a problem with that? We're friends, so I don't want to take the part if it will piss you off.

Bale: Hell no, I don't care. I wish I'd never signed on to do that awful movie. But a word of advice. If some idiot keeps messing with the lights on the set and screwing up your scene... just let it go.
