Arrow Arrow 3.23 My Name Is Oliver Queen

I just wanted one or two lines of dialogue explaining how he'd been training her to fly it or something, that's all. Sort of like how Rhodey can just immediately jump into the War Machine armor and pilot it in IM2. All I needed was a quick comment about Tony teaching him how to fly it. So that it doesn't fell COMPLETELY out of nowhere.

She was there lending a hand a good chunk of the time he programmed it.

I have a bigger problem with the League armor, that not a single assassin or even Ra's wore in the entire run of the show, with the exception of Oliver.

That's fine. You think that you & the two others who love the whole season are the majority while the dozens of people who complain are the few. I don't see any point when you won't admit anything is wrong.

I never said that me or anyone else (Probably a few more than two, I would think) I would never be so arrogant to say we represent the majority, as I would have nothing to back that up. Just like you don't have anything to back up your assertion that you represent the majority.

I think we should all accept everyone has his own opinion and that's fine. What the majority thinks is irrelevant imo.

Exactly. No way to prove what the majority thinks . Here anyway. I mean the Hype is hardly a representative sample of the show's overall viewership anyway, regardless of what opinions you or I may hold. I can only speak for myself, and that goes for anyone else here.

I just want to explain why I've been so disappointed with this season. I can easily forgive a movie or a show for its plotholes, even if they are kinda big, as long as I'm moved by the journey. If I feel engaged in the storyline, and it provokes some emotion in me, plotholes won't be that important. Which is why I really love the dark knight rises, even though there are a lot of plotholes/flaws.

Sadly, I wasn't moved by Oliver's journey here, especially since his journey basically is about be romantically engaged with Felicity. This storyline wasn't satisfying nor convincing to me, and that's not the kind of story I4m interested by when I watch a show about a superhero. I like a good romande, but I don't want it to be the ultimate goal of the story. For instance, I think Daredevil did a great job at showing an interesting and convincing romance, but it didn't take anything from the actual hero journey.

In this season, Oliver was like "I can't have you because the city needs me". Then he was like "I have to make questionable choices, even though they make no sense, because drama". Then he was like "it's okay to leave starling with people who barely managed to survive without me, as long as I can leave with Felicity". Of course, I'm exaggerating, but it's not that far from what I felt about this season.

I didn't like this journey, I wasn't moved by it, which explains why I wasn't that forgiving about the plotholes and flaws.

That said, I like the actors and the characters. I will be back for season 4, and I really hope it will be more consistent.

You have said the few in regards to people who are unhappy on multiple occasions. It certainly sounded like you were that arrogant. And anyone who isn't blind and has been reading the board can tell the majority of posters here have been unhappy with this season. Especially since Oliver survived by force of will. :whatever:

Again, I only ever spoke for myself and agreed with those who felt the same as I did. You are the one presuming you speak for the majority when you can't possibly know that. Show me a poll of all of the viewers of this show (posters here that aren't happy is NOT a representative sample of all of the show's viewers) that proves the majority of viewers agree with you. You can't do that any more than I can show the majority agree with me.

BS I only said the majority of posters HERE. It is in the post just before yours. I never claimed anything else. it is impossible to poll all the viewers of the show. Nice try though.

OK, fair enough. Show me reliable stats that prove more people HERE disliked it.

Read the thread or for that matter just about any thread from Oliver's return on. The amount of people complaining about the plot far outnumbers those defending it.

Especially since he already knows that Damian Dark and HIVE are out there and have been active in Starling City. "Yes, there's the guy/organization out there that even Ra's al Ghul considered to be a threat, he's done stuff in my city already, and my team was barely able to beat a somewhat intelligent street thug/crime boss and his goons without me. Oh and my city has nearly been destroyed three years in a row, but I'm sure that they can handle it. I'm going off to have sexy sexy fun time with the hot tech girl."

All that means is the complainers are more vocal about it, nothing more. Pretty much par for the course on any internet forum, there are always more complainers posting than anyone else, regardless of the actual numbers.

If you read S2 threads it was basically "Episode is great, good episode, Laurel sucks, kill Laurel"

I'm not saying some ppl can't have enjoyed this season, but it's pretty clear that in a lot of places (comments on episodes recaps, rates etc) this season as a whole has met a lot of negativity, something that basically only Laurel had in S2.

Well, there ya go. Some real numbers at last. That's all I asked for.
Of course, in the long run, all that is irrelevant to those of us that had no problems with the show, all that should matter is to us is that WE liked it, whether we are in the minority or not.
One last question: Those are only for the season finales. Any numbers for the whole season(s)?

If you think ppl complain too much about Felicity this season, check this S2 thread "Do you want Laurel killed off?" http://forums.superherohype.com/showthread.php?t=466987

But again, here's hope that S4 will be a very good season!
