Arrowverse General Arrowverse Watching Order 2.0

With the announcement that Black Lightning will be part of the Crisis, the show has been added back into the order in the places I originally had them (plus the later episodes added).

If anyone sees any reason to change the placement of Black Lightning episodes, let me know. I placed the later episodes just based on memory since I wasn't doing it in real time.

While watching, Vixen:The Movie, I noticed that Black Canary mentions that Arrow (Oliver Queen) is running for Mayor. So shouldn't that be in Season 4 somewhere between 1 and 15?

If you read the order and the summary in the second post closely, you'll see that The Movie is made up of two seasons of the Vixen webseries that aired in different years, plus some extra content in the middle to link them together.

So I have Vixen season 1 plus the extra movie content in Year 3 while season 2 is in Year 4. If you watch the movie all at once, half of it will either be too far in the past or too far in the future from where you are in the other series following the order.

Gotcha! Thanks for the response.

I know you're not a fan of Smallville (I've not seen it) but with today's news of Tom Welling reprising his role in Crisis on Infinite Earths, will you be adding it to this list?

I added Smallville to the list. I am not going to add all of those episode titles because I'm lazy, but it's in the order after Flash 1990 but before Arrow. Seems to make the most sense.

I also updated the color key. I will now use blue for all Superman family shows (Smallville, Supergirl), red for all Flash family shows, and black for Batwoman and any future Batfamily shows. Black Lightning gets gold, brown is reserved for some future unrelated series.

If anyone out there who doesn't hate Smallville like I do would like to help with the order, I think there are some webseries that went along with the show. If anyone knows where they belong in the course of the Smallville episodes, let me know.

My suggested Smallville Order:

Season 1
Season 2 Eps 1-2
Chloe Chronicles Season 1 Ep 1
Season 2 Ep 3
Chloe Chronicles Season 1 Ep 2
Season 2 Ep 4
Chloe Chronicles Season 1 Ep 3
Season 2 Ep 5
Chloe Chronicles Season 1 Ep 4
Season 2 Ep 6
Chloe Chronicles Season 1 Ep 5
Season 2 Eps 7-11
Chloe Chronicles Season 2 Eps 1-7
Season 2 Eps 12-23
Season 3 - Season 5 Ep 15
Vengeance Chronicles Ep 1
Season 5 Ep 16 - Season 6 Ep 22
Justice & Doom Ep 1
Season 7-10

I had no idea there were web series tie-ins to Smallville.

Is anyone really going to take the time to watch all this?

Added all the Smallville episodes and titles. I used this:
Reading/Viewing Order

But without the comics since it's a viewing order and not a reading order.

If anyone has any advice or disagreements, feel free.

Well, we got us a successor to Arrow.

The Canaries are getting a show with Mia Smoak. One of the Arrow episodes this year will be a back door pilot.

Birds of Prey added to the watching order.

I stuck it after Smallville season 2.

I used black for the color code since it's Batfamily-ish.

Would you also consider adding the unaired pilot of the 2006 Aquaman show? I believe this show, had it been picked up, would have been in the Smallville universe.

Only if there's some kind of link or reference to it.

Considering it features the same actor who played Green Arrow on Smallville as Arthur, I'm going to say it's not related to Smallville. It would have to take place on its own Earth.

Sort of similar to the Donnerverse. If Superman Returns ends up being officially linked by Routh's character, it just means that Superman, Superman II, and Returns are in the Arrowverse. Superman Returns completely ignores Superman III, Superman IV, and the Supegirl film so those would only be included if they were directly linked as well.

So I tried to watch Smallville.

Got seasons 1-5 on DVD, 6 on HD-DVD, 7-10 on Blu Ray.

All the Blu Rays, which I bought used, work fine.

All the DVDs and HD-DVDs, which came brand new, are messed up. Not one of the HD-DVDs works, as they came out of the new package all scratched and smudged.

All the DVDs look pristine but I got to episode 2 and it wouldn't boot. 1, 3 and 4 work fine. I tried it on multiple DVD players and none worked.

So I decided to open up all the DVDs and try them and... through the first 5 seasons, I'd say about 15 episodes won't boot on any DVD player I own. Blu Ray Players, 4K Player, half a dozen consoles, desktop, laptop... nothing.

So this is gonna be an eBay pain in my ass. I'll have to stick to Hulu until everything gets resolved I guess.

I wish I weren't such a completionist, but here we are. I don't even like this show that much.

HD-DVD, lol In can't believe I bought that add-on player for my 360 for $160 in 2005 all to be defunct by 2007.

I waited until it was already dead and bought the add-on for 20 bucks with a bunch of movies, so no regrets.

It's the same quality as Blu Ray and there are still a couple things on HD-DVD that never saw a Blu Ray release, like Smallville Season 5 and Half Baked.

What character (that has not been announced for Crisis on Infinite Earths) would you like to see appear.

Characters not yet in the Arrowverse:
Dick Grayson (Titans)
anyone from Doom Patrol
Swamp Thing (2019 series character)
Wonder Woman (70s series)
Superboy (1988-1992 series)
Mark Hamill as any version of the Joker

And I would say Trickster and Tina from The Flash 1990, but it appeared their Earth was destroyed in Elseworlds.

Have you decided how you will handle the early episodes of Batwoman since they are confirmed to take place before the last crossover? Will you be going back and adding them prior to her first appearance last year?

I will have to wait to see the episodes themselves and how they flow. It could be that there is a present framing device for the flashback episodes, or it could be that the tie into present storylines even though they're set in the past.

Updated through last night.

The Batwoman pilot shows events from prior to Elseworlds but the narration is present day looking back, so I kept it with this year's shows.
