Ashanti and Ali Larter join Resident Evil: Extinction

Eventually Zombies rot to the point where they cannot move anymore, and simply turn into rotten piles of tissue. At least, that's how it was in the games. If the human race wanted to survive a zombie takeover, all they'd have to do is wait it out.

Well, Claire certainly looks nothing like Claire.
Expect the worst with this movie and you'll be fine. :O

Ok so we get Jill and Claire Redfield? Where are Chris and Leon?

But then how could Anderson fulfill his hot chick kicking ass fetish? I swear, this guy should just wear a sign that says "Dominate me"...because he has the biggest hard-on for the "hot, tough, chick" cliche in Hollywood history.

I prefer to just not see them. Thats what I did with Apocolypse :) Too many people see these movies, just to ***** about them. For example, is it really a suprise to anyone who didn't like Apocolypse that it sucked? They hated the first one. They hated the second one, yet they will still see the third one. Why?

I saw the first in the theater hoping for the best and got kung-fu Milla the zombie kicker. Then I saw part 2 and got a steroided-super dose of the same. Will I see the third? Fool me once shame on you, fool me three times, I'm a dumbass. :(

Just for the record, Milla Jovokoivch or however it is spelled can't act, is annorexic, flat, and has an ugly face. Why does she still get work?

cool claire is in it!.......

though she doesnt look like her she looks like SARAH CONNER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i cant wait for this movie!

I agree.

Btw, This movie is going to suck. :(

How come Claire looks nothing like Claire? They did a fine job with Jill, but what did they do with Claire? She resembles nothing of the videogame Claire. This is a disapointment. I still like the movies though.

I hope so. I can't wait until this movie opens up in theatres. Anyone know the date?

The second Resident Evil film was supposed to be happening during the events of Nemesis, that is why Jill looked like she did. This movie is supposed to be happening after all the games and takes it in a different direction from RE 4 (where Umbrella goes broke and is swept under the rug in a ****ty intro segment). Hence the reason Claire is not wearing her red vest outfits from RE2/CV.

the other ones didnt...... i dont see why this one will

The first 2 were kinda bad to me.
They did have their good points, though.

The sad thing is my favorite thing about Apocalypse was how foxy Jill Valentine looked.

Sorry if this has been posted already.

RE: Extinction Details Revealed
Filmmaker talks about the trilogy concept, Road Warrior and burying Vegas in sand.
by Chris Carle

June 29, 2006 - This week at the Hollywood and Video Games Summit in Beverly Hills, we got a chance to talk to the keynote speaker, filmmaker Paul W.S. Anderson. The director, famous for adapting videogames to film, talked briefly about the third movie in the Resident Evil trilogy, Resident Evil: Extinction.

"My concept behind the trilogy of movies I always imagined making was: the first movie would be a prequel to the very first game. It would tell the back story of the videogame world. The second movie would be set kind of intertwined with what was happening in Raccoon City. And then the third movie would be like a post script to the world of the videogame," Anderson explained.

"So the third movie, Resident Evil: Extinction is set several years in the future and it's pretty much after the Umbrella Corporation has failed to control the outbreaks of the T-Virus and the world has literally been wiped out. There's very little humanity left and a handful of human survivors are traveling around the remnants of the world in these heavily armored convoys and what they do is they go to the least populated parts of the world, because they figure that's where the least undead will be, and they travel in these heavily armored trucks and customized rolling fortresses—it's very Road Warrior--at high speed so that the undead don't get anywhere near them. So that's where the movie takes place, primarily in the deserts of Nevada and around Las Vegas. But of course, it's a Las Vegas that has kind of fallen now, because what's happened is, with no one to take care of it, the desert has come back in and half-buried Vegas. So… we built all these casinos which are sort of buried in the sand.

"We built… parts of Paris [the casino]. So we built a chunk of the Eiffel Tower, but half-buried in sand. It's really spectacular."

For more information about the film, visit IGN's Resident Evil Extinction page, and keep checking IGN FilmForce for the latest updates.

Unlike Resident Evil 4's intro, where it is explained that the US government forces embargos and crap on Umbrella products and their stocks start to fall and eventually they just go out of business due to financial reasons, this movie gives us the scenario that Umbrella continued to do evil things and more outbreaks have happened and eventually all hell breaks lose and everyone is pretty much screwed. Now the world is overrun with zombies because Umbrella let things get out of control.

"John, your father was killed by a robot called 'the terminator'."

I'm sorry, but I am not buying her as Clair for even half a minute. Sienna Guilroy nailed Jill Valentine in the visual department, but it looks like the actress for Claire won't even come close to duplicating that feat. The only minor interest I had in this film has gone completely out the window knowing that Claire Redfield isn't even in there, and has been replaced by CRINO.

And as if Paul Anderson's frequent immitation of James Cameron wasn't obvious enough as it was... We get a Sarah Connor lookalike in place of a teenage biker chick.

Agreeing 100% with ToddisDead and Matt, I love the RE games and the films have nothing in common with them.
NOW, if only the REAL (teenage) zombies would stop buying this crap and prevent the franchise from continuing, then we may hope for a great and faithful relaunch from the likes of Romero & Gans... :)

RE4 > Everything
