REINO. I don't like this franchise. I just recently gave Apocalypse another chance and it just blows on so many levels. Cliches, weak plotpoints, and misuse of the source material. Thumbs down.

I guess when Paul Anderson isn't ripping off Ripley from the Alien films with Alice, he's going to be ripping off Sarah Connor from Terminator 2 with Claire. And yet somehow, he manages to completely miss what made either of those classic heroines compelling in the first place.

RE was a cool movie(felt like it did so much which so little)....RE2 felt more like the game(it had its moments from the game)...

they may not be good RE movies....but they are certainly good movies

Don't worry, I'm sure that Anderson will make sure not to make her any deeper than what he thinks the average gamer will pick up while playing the three Playstation games. But really, they could have at least made her look like the game version.

She did have a little character in Code Veronica, but Anderson doesn't aknowledge any of the post-PS1 games as series cannon. Kind of like how Bryan Singer doesn't aknowledge Superman 3 and 4, but without a good reason.

Well Anderson wrote the first and second and they blew. Not too crazy to assume this one is going to blow too.

See, if Alice was cut out of these movies, they would be 100% better. Her character has no depth, and placing superwoman in a horror movie misses the point entirely.

That said, I do love the first movie despite the odd stupid moment of hand to hand zombie fighting. RE Apocalypse was a poor movie in many respects, but I must say I did wrangle enjoyment from it (Carlos was awesome, a lot of cool zombie fighting in the streets of Raccoon, the church scene, etc). I am interested in seeing this movie at the very least. I am fairly optimisitic. The best way to deal with it is forget that it's a movie of the videogames, just see it as an ''alternate'' takes (sort of like the novels, except not as well written )

Yeah, I've never really been a person to droan and moan about movies. I just tend to take 'em as they are and look on the bright side instead of focusing on the negatives. It makes life happier.

Making trashy fun worked for Mortal Kombat, because the games in a way are like trashy fun. Basically there wasn't a lot to screw up, so Anderson's approach worked to some degree.

But the Resident Evil games are really good stuff and could have made for an excellent movie series. However, when Anderson decided to use the same brute force he applied to Mortal Kombat, the results IMO were very dissapointing.

I just pranked my brother really good. I told him that the pic of "Claire" was from Terminator 4, and that during the movie there was going to be a flashback of Sarah Connor when she was pregnant and training to be a soldier, but that she was being played by a new actress. He totally bought it at first, and then I told him that what it really was and he laughed his socks off.

Those pictures you posted of Jill Valentine are a secret costume, and she's supposed to look like Sarah Connor as a gag. With Claire in Resident Evil Extincton, you're not supposed to notice that she's been blatantly hoisted from Terminator 2.

And yes, it does look like Sarah Connor. I told my brother that it was a young Sarah Connor being played by a new actress in Terminator 4, and he totally bought it untill I told him the truth. Everyone can see that she looks like SC, it's not rocket science.
