Ashton Kutcher replacing Charlie Sheen in Two and a Half Men

i still would have loved if they could have gotten russel brand as a replacement. He has the right attitude to replace sheen as a drunken womanizer

this!

A Charlie 2.0 wouldn't have worked. 2.0's never work. When Sam left West Wing did they get a Sam 2.0? No. When Trapper, Blake, and Burns left M*A*S*H did they get 2.0's of them? No.

When Micheal J Fox left "Spin City" did they get Eric Stoltz? No they brought in Sheen.

:)

Over 27 million viewers on Monday. They still would have been better off bringing back Sheen both creatively and for the ratings. Sheen's return to the show would have brought in 30 million viewers.

Kutcher sucks. He can't act and has absolutely no personality. I still would have loved if they could have gotten Russel Brand as a replacement. He has the right attitude to replace Sheen as a drunken womanizer but he actually has a movie career.

I'm thinking people were curious to see how Kutcher would do. But I'm seeing a HUGE drop off in the ratings now that everyone sees how terrible Ashton Sargent was.

The show ain't the same.

Nine years was a good run. It's best they wrap this up with a decent series finale and give Kutcher a show of his own to carry. He could probably draw Sheen numbers if given material tailored to him.

I caught the last half of it and thought it was ok. I'll give them a few more episodes to see what their dynamic is and I'll decide from there.

Let's wait till the 3rd and 4th episodes this season till we label this a legit winner.

I think what ultimately determines the show's fate will be the second episode. I really do, because if Ashton doesn't click with the other cast members -- it will be DOA. Period.

If that happens, I think CBS will just cancel it and not even give it a full 22-episode order.

I remember watching Fox's last show. I cried like an effin baby :'(
:up::up: IMO that show ended when Fox left I collected the series up until then. I just wish they would release one disc where he returned to help save that drowning ship.

Aside from Kutcher, one actor who would performed incredibly is Rob Lowe.
'course, the show has descended below the quality to merit an incredible performance from someone such as him. Look at what they have done with Kutcher, who is in a separate league: they haven't written any material for him to take off with, and he's not all the way in the A-Leagues, like Mr. Lowe.

Was Lowe a possible replacement? He's much better off with Parks and Rec. I love his character on that show.

I wasn't overly impressed with last night's show, but I'll stick with it for now. I know a lot of these first two shows will be setting the stage for what's to come.

I did like Kutcher's first appearance. That was probably one of the only good laughs I had.

The replacements for Trapper, Blake and Burns (Honeycutt, Potter and Winchester) were lousy. It turned M*A*S*H into a drama more than a comedy during the last 4 top 5 years of its run.

Two and Half Men could never survive a turn into a more serious show. Just like Married with Children it's meant to be absurd.

Which made it even better. :o

The show's been number 1 for how long with terrible writing, I don't see it dropping off too much. Sure there were some people that tuned in just because of the Charlie Sheen craziness, but plenty people already loved the show as horrible as it was and will still watch.

Ok, I've never really watched Two and a Half Men (bits and pieces here and there). I am watching out of curiousity. Aside from being terrible, this whole episode is basically one big middle finger to Charlie Sheen. The STD gags in particular were very harsh. Very petty on Lorre's part. He had the opportunity to be the bigger man but he just went below the belt, every chance that he got.

I agree, there's a difference between making fun of someone and just being mean spirited.

I think I dislike Kutcher as mucha s I dislike Sheen. no change here. If the show goes from bad to terrible, I won't really care. Or notice.

John Stamos did better than Ashton in the 10 seconds he was on screen. I wanted Stamos! I don't have a problem with Ashton, but he just seems to think he's still on "That 70s Show".

And I'm with hippie hunter and Matt, the whole episode focused more on roasting Sheen than moving on. The ashes on the floor is what crossed the line in my opinion.

I was a curiousity viewer, and I didn't laugh at anything except the dustbuster bit. Dustbusting ashes always gets me! :o

The interesting parts where Stamos and the Dharma and Greg reunion. That was it. I didn't see anything that would make me return next Monday.

Lowe would, literally, be the best replacement. Ever. By far. Literally. ;)

:awesome:

But, no, he's fine just where he is. Parks and Rec is one of the best comedies on television. This is, well..... :o
