I haven't dropped the book entirely... yet.

but I sure as hell ain't paying a dime for it.

Me neither, but if they boot MJ, I'm dropping spidey (except Ultimate) completely. I've said it before and I'll say it again, that would be the last straw for me.

So, I just read this issue and thought it was really good.

so whether is heart was in the fight or not... how could cap hit him, or how could he not get around caps shield, does his spider sense not work anymore, he can dodge bullets and lasers all day, but not punches...

its as bad as someone in the official civil war thread thinking wolverine could take iron man

yeah...i don't think that approach is going to work.

for every "purist, hardcore, classic" spidey fan dropping the book, there's like, 3 new readers picking it up because of civil war. me included.

And how long are they going to stay after Civil War is over? Nuff said:spidey:

None of them, that's why its a stupid argument.

For any of you guys wishing to see a spidey vs ironman thing it seems like that will be the case next issue. on the 534 cover we saw him going up against Capt. On 535 it shows him fighting ironman.

i liked 534 but felt the battle should've been longer... anyways i didnt see this posted here yet so thats just sum info for yah.

Read the issue this morning. JMS is still keeping it up, good stuff. Though I really wished that Romita Jr. were doing the art duties, it would have been so much better, in my opinion.

But we're starting to see Peter noticing that the suit he's wearing may not be a good idea. Stark figuring out his spider sense could have been found through other means, but I suppose they want to make it seem like Tony is sort of watching Spidey through the suit.

Which also explains why Spidey took on Cap as well. Having the thought that Tony may be monitoring him through the suit means he'd have seen him shake Cap's hand, or strike a secret deal with him. Though it also just could have been Peter wanting to shake his hand, but realizing that he still has to do this job, and get Cap on their side.

But regardless, it was a stepping stone to Peter's changing sides of the Civil War. He did right by the law, by his peers, and by his family. But is he really doing right for himself and his true feelings? And every Spider-Man fan knows that answer to that...hell no he isn't. And the sooner he sticks the Iron Spidey suit up Starks hoo ha...the better.

savemarvel, keep you're book dropping stuff in the "fans who continue to buy thread." This is a thread that deals with spoilers and such for ASM 534. Keep it that way.

I still don't get that part. He clearly mentions the powers of his spidersense in front of Tony in FHSM#4.

Do all Marvel Zombies act this way? Just asking....

I agree. Not just the fight with Cap, but the spidersense thing was dead off.
He clearly told Tony about it in FHSM#4.
Not to mention NA#5

My problem with Civil War that it does not feel like a real story that is driven by real characters or real motivation, it feels forced. None of the characters are acting in character and the story gets more contrive with every passing issue. I don't know what will happen during the course of the series but i have not been impress with it yet. I hope it does get better but so far, only Wolverine has been the only title that has been worth picking up.

Just a quick question, does ASM 534 happen before or after Civil War #3? It seems like its afterwards which basically means we know the outcome of the big battle that happened in civil war #3. I dunno can somebody clarify this for me please?

Do all newbies have to call people they don't agree with Marvel Zombies like it's some kind of uber, ultimate insult? Do you even know what a Marvel Zombie is? Or did you just figure it's a fun thing to call people that you don't agree with.

Weren't you the one in another thread going on and on about how other people had to resort to name calling? Isn't that what you're doing?

If calling you a Marvel Zombie is that bad, then you need serious help.

You weren't calling me a Marvel Zombie. And I asked you a question, "Do you even know what a Marvel Zombie is?"

how did SIAT and themansaid get pissed off with each other when the Zombie comment was between nuttyfruitcake and JJ Jameson??

Who knows? You certainly don't know the answer to that nor do I.

But I will say one thing... if Civil War succeeds in just adding ONE new reader to any Marvel book that they weren't reading before, or perhaps someone who hasn't even read a comic book before, then that's a good thing.

Nuff said. :)

Exactly. Let's keep it in the other thread.

I mean it.

BTW- Marvel Zombies is a comic book, not an insult.

You feel like this because of bad writing and an amalgramated excuse to backpedal out of the new costume as well as all that came with it. Every fan does. The trick is to look at the tale from what Marvel has told us and realizing that we shouldn't be driven towards one side or the other.

Anyone else remember when they were defending all of this by saying Peter deserved to have all these perks? Now it seems everyone is silent and just pointing us to the Cap/Iron Man battle. Hmm...

Just to add on to the whole spider-sense debacle, in HoM #1 he announced to the gathered group that he has a "spider-sense when there's danger." This was before reality was altered so shouldn't everyone who was present still have the memory of that...

Not to mention it being mentioned in FNSM. It's pretty much clear that Marvel f***ed that one up.
