Far be it for me to defend JMS, but I do understand under these circumstances why Pete wasn't doing MJ's backrub...he's literally under too much tension to try to unwind and besides which he had an appointment to tag along with Tony and didn't want to let himself be...distracted.t:

You have Asperger's, cool, I got stuck with boaring old Adult ADD myself.
Maybe we should designate one of the little smiles to represent sarcasm. or make one for it ":sarcasm:" would be cool or "[Sarcasm]} "[/Sarcasm]" seriously though it since sarcasm usually is distinguished by tone of voice it's a bit harder to catch it on a chat board.

Hey I only found this board fairly recently...give me time! But yeah I do better catching sarcasm thanks to tone of voice but with some people, (like my father,) it's a lot harder since they tend to keep a really straight tone doing so.

My strategy, (as you've probably guessed,) is to avoid doing actual work, (we're kind of at a standstill at the moment anyway,) and to obsessively agonize over every last detail of the storyline with people just as demented as me so I can convince myself I'm normal. I mean really this site is what is making the days between Wednesday's bearable...

Well, this the civil war moment i've been waiting for. I like the serious tone pete has when traveling to the negative zone. I doubt they're going to have a full toe 2 toe in this issue, but i'm glad it starts in his own book. It does suck to know after he takes a stand, he then get JACKED UP! in CW 5.

I have to ask this question. What trades that JMS wrote are worth buying?? I simply must know and I want Good Spidey, im so sick of Ultimate Spidey I could hurl. I am kinda wanting to get into a Mainstream Spidey title and I want to read some JMS trades to get used to his dialogue and such. Any Suggestions??? I just want good Spidey that is current.

That's JMS's good half of his run. In my opinion, GREAT half.

Looks damn good and about time he came to his senses. My only problem is just when u think Stark's character couldn't be shown worse, with a movie coming out, and hoping they'll give him some redeming qualities, they take another possible bad route. I mean what if they get in there and you see hero's being cut into, tortured, or experimented on or mistreated in anyway and that's what shocks Spiderman, then on top of everything else Stark and Reed are going to apparently be capable of that lol. Plus they had to toss in he's making a profit, even if he doesn't care he is lol.

Anyway, 'bout time and can't wait for it to come out.

Yeah, I think the Ironman movie might be the best chance we have for some time of seeing Tony behave in a way that's sympathetic. My perception was that Spidey understood heroes were being imprisoned but he would have expected fairly decent treatment for them as political prisoners...nothing like what's been happening to Speedball or what be going on in the Negative Zone. And even if Tony isn't motivated by profit, (and to be fair to Tony I don't think he is; I think hubris is his driving flaw here,) Peter can't help but see it as pretty convenient that Stark's even richer because of all this.

That might very well be the most prudent course of action here but I just can't see Peter standing by the sidelines if he really begins to think the Pro-reg camp is in the wrong. Moreover the way things have escalated, I'm not sure it's even going to be possible for a figure as well known as Spiderman to play the role of Switzerland in all this.

I don't mean not fighting, I mean fighting BOTH SIDES.

Something tells me that this fighting is only making things worse. With heroes fighting heroes, the government's probably going to try and get rid of both sides. Not to mention crime's probably up extremely high with criminals knowing that the heroes are too busy fighting themselves to do anything.

In fact, I think Punisher's going to be used to take out the entire war, and I think Peter might forge an uneasy allience with him...

I think the fact that Tony seems to be trying to hide how horrible the NZ/42 prison is and reed Richards is so damn excited about it goes to show you a lot about their characters.

Actually I thought it showed that Reed maybe wasn't as familiar with the actual ground conditions of the prison as Tony was-he just knows the theory of how it was set up and what a feat of technology it is without understanding how nightmarish it is for those inside. Or maybe he just doesn't understand Peter as well as Tony does.
