Assasins Creed

Good for you. I liked it too, for about 2 hours.

Nope, just was a disappointment, I'm glad I rented it. I hope they come out with a second one because the idea is good, just the execution was terrible. They have a lot to work on. If they put in as much attention to the the rest of the game play as they did to the free running, then I'd be right along with some of you guys singing it's praises. But they didn't and the game suffered pretty heavily.

I guess out of 7 dollars. Better than out of 40 or 60 or 70. But some people gotta have that bonus disc to watch and a strategy guide to help them through the same investigation process over and over again.

^ hilarious spam :woot:

so i just played AC again just a few moments ago, it was fun.. i killed that guy who was about to kill the 4 prisoners... there were like 25 soldiers ganging up on me, and some how i survived and killed them all:eek:

i think i have 3 more people to assassinate, the total is 9 right?

So everyone who has a differing opinion on it is just flat out wrong? The combat is part of the repetition. It gets old soon after you unlock the counter ability. Push a button to counter, watch an animation that kills the opponent. That is seriously all you need. Hold down the defense button, push the button to counter and watch an animation, repeat ad nauseam one guard at a time. That is all the combat is. There is no need to actually attack, it takes longer.

Personally, I thought it was great. And it's different, which is cool. At least it wasn't typical generic hack & slash.

And I used the regular attack quite a bit, especially against big groups. But, to each his own.

does anyone know what the recent AC update was for?? i just downloaded an update for the game, but not sure what it was exactly updating.

Hahaha, oh man, there needs to be a differing opinion alert or something around here for these kind of hyped up games that fall short of expectations. Some people just can't handle it.

what system and what version number is it? When did you get AC?

I just bought it, and honestly, I love it. Its Crackdown in medieval times. Open world play is addicting for me, and the free running just clinched it. Ive been a fan of free running since Yamakasi, and love that its in a game of this calibre.

9.25/10.

There were glitches in both PS3 and 360 versions which dropped the player out of the level and or froze the game during the last assassination. The patch fixed those problems.

do you believe it deserved all those perfect scores?

No game deserves a perfect score. But I don't think it deserves some of the really bad comments about it. No it's not amazingly perfect but it's really fun and aside from the repetitive missions, everything else is great.

But, I'm the type of person who can just pop it in and run around getting into fights and exploring without getting bored.

Exactly. I love popping in AC or Crackdown just to mess around for an hour.

OCARINA OF TIME DESERVES A PERFECT SCORE, BTW....

When I say 9/10 I mean it is basically a must buy, no doubt about it. I'm talking games like CoD4, for PS3 owners Uncharted, Super Mario Galaxy for Nintendo fans. There is always going to be a certain small percentage of people who just don't like games like CoD4 or FPS and won't buy it because of that, but for everyone interested in that genre, they are buying it. I don't believe AC falls into that category of a "must have" game like a game reviewed 9/10 or 10/10 should be. I would say it is a "must-rent" game and then go from there. Some of the reviews this game was getting labeled it as the next coming of christ, and it came back to bite some people in the ass when they bought into it and ignored other reviews. There's a reason this game probably won't be getting any GOTY awards. That is what a game reviewed 9/10 should be. A no doubter. Can you honestly tell me that you would recommend this game in that context?

Ok, does it deserve, say, a 9/10?

YES!!! BEST GAME EVAH!!!
Bearing witness to even more undeserved over enthusiastic praise for Assassin's Creed, yes, you may shoot yourself now, Jerry.

Sweet, someone answered his own question, eh? There will always be people who dont like a certain game, yet you dont like AC as much as other.

I know that is harsher than what you said, but still. Im letting all my friends play AC before I force them to buy it. If they have half as much fun as I am with it, then they will love it. I know its not for everyone, but hey, its still a fun game.

Plus, it helps us folks out whose Live account just expired, and need a bigger game to occupy them before they get back into CoD4.

No, see I knew I should have explained that part better. I like action games, some reviews give the impression that this is one of the best action games made recently, thats what getting a 9/10 or 10/10 should represent. But is that what it is? No.

I don't even like RPGs that much, tried a lot of them but I never bought one, but I trusted the scores on Mass Effect and bought it and loved it. That is what games that get these kind of high scores should be like. A no doubt about it, one of the best games you will play even if you don't like the genre type experience.

No, i know, and agree. I was just messing around.

Its true. AC is more of a niche game for a select type of gamer, while the other big budget holiday games are geared towards everyone.
