I'll get right on that!
It definitely does make the future for AC look very promising. The whole 'Templars shaping today's history' sounds amazing.
I keep saying this over and over, but this would make for an AWESOME film franchise.
Too true.
I just hope it doesn't take another three years for AC2...
Finally beat the game 2 minutes ago. WTH type of ending was that? Oh well, at least Im done with it. Time for Ebay!
I finished this game the other night. It was a good rental, but I'm glad I didn't buy it. The acrobatic gameplay mechanic and the graphics definately felt AAA, and the plot was very cool, like something out of a high-concept sci-fi novel. But the actual game structure felt really lame. You were literally doing the exact same mission 8 times in a row, and when you were finally done, the game was over. It was like playing the demo for a game 8 times in a row. Once you finished the first mission, you'd already seen everything the game has to offer, and after that, wether or not you have fun depends entirely on how long you can repeat that mission before you get bored. And the ending-- or lack thereof-- was crap.
Hopefully this game gets a very well done sequel. But if Assassin's Creed 2 is nothing but more of the same-- which would be VERY redundant given the nature of the first game-- I would be very, very dissapointed.
for me, Id like to see more variety. Like he said, it was pretty much the SAME thing 8-9 times with each assasination. I hope that each assasination doesnt follow the same exact formula. Switch it up and make the build up to them unique. What sort of things would you like to see added to the sequel?

The combat needs some work. It was pretty much a button masher. Id like it if it werent so simplistic and a bit more layers to it. With that, also add in different weapons. 1 weapon for combat got old fast.
Give some sort of incentive for collecting the flags. 360 had achievements but that really wasnt much. Tie it in with extras, different costumes, skins, features, etc... Reward the player for the work put in finding them
Oh and get rid of the beggars/******s that roam the streets. Those 2 were BEYOND annoying
To play the game, all you have to do is keep pressing the attack button (Square on the PS3) and when you see a guy about to attack you, press that with the R1 button to counter. You can get through the whole game doing just that. There were no combos or complex moves. It was a matter of simply pressing the attack button and counter when applicable. There wasnt much variety hereWere you playing the same game I was? It wasn't a button masher. You had to time your taps of the X/B buttons pretty precisely for counters, grabs, etc or you would get your ass handed to you in combat. At least, this was my experience. You couldn't just mash or you'd find yourself hurting rather quickly.
And only one weapon for combat? Once again.. what game were you playing? There were four (or five, can't remember) different weapons for combat. The long sword, the short swords, throwing knives, and the spring blade. I can't remember if there's another one in there, but regardless... saying there's only "one weapon" for combat is pretty ass backwards.

The knives were used for projectile kills. They were useless to switch to in the middle of fighting face to face. The Long sword/Short blade was pretty much the same thing. There wasnt much difference in how you used them except for maybe different animations
