Assassin's Creed - Part 1

I wonder if the bad guys will only find dead bodies concerning for a few seconds before once again acting like everything is perfectly fine.
Or how your assassination target is out of reach because a mentally unfit beggar is pacing back and forth and keeps punching you (and only you) if you move too close.

Never heard of the game...OK I have in passing, anyway that second trailer made me put this on my list. Might even go the first Friday.

OK, based on that footage, it definitely looks like they give him hidden blades while he's hooked up to the Animus. That just confuses me. He's still a prisoner. Why would you give the prisoner weapons?

I don't understand why they bothered with such an elaborate device to plug him into the Animus in the first place. Who's going to care what the machine is like? Just sit him in a chair and plug him in like The Matrix or Inception. What's important is what happens in the Animus, not how it is accessed. It seems like a lot of energy (and probably budget) that could have been much better utilized.

But the Matrix and Inception are boring. :o

So that he can stab the orderlies who foolishly put the blades on him and then escape.

duh

;)

To me that's just the height of stupidity. Did anyone give notes on this script?

Maybe a nonsensical movie was made and that's why Fox aren't really marketing the movie that much? Maybe they have given up already.

Just waiting for the scene with Michael Fassbender playing hide the sausage with a poorly textured wall.

That's a question I still can't find any logical answer to. I can't imagine it's simply been overlooked, it's as obvious a flaw as you can get.

My only guess is that it looks visually cool, which I guess is as good of an excuse as any.

My first thought was they were just sort of like sensor or controller parts like using a gun controller for a video game. It's not a real gun, but it helps with aiming and controls. They weren't real hidden blades, just dummy virtual controller ones. But based on the footage it definitely looks like they give him the real genuine articles while he's hooked up.

I think it looks visually dumb, but that's just me.

I'll wait till I see the movie before I past judgement on whether the hidden blades they give him are actually functioning. Lol. Talk about jumping to conclusions before you understand the context.

This.

I'm still excited to see the movie, or at least read the early reviews. They've made several changes from what we're used to, so it's hard to judge whether or not it's better, or even if they address why they did it in the film itself.

They likely did this to make the bleeding effect more plausible. If his body is literally performing the moves of his anscestor, it feels a lot less matrixy when he can suddenly do those things in real life.

I'm excited to see how these changes will play out.

Exactly. Plus The Matrix method is overused in general. This is more visually interesting than him just sitting in a chair or laying on a table for most of the films. And yeah, his body is learning the movements, by actually doing them.

It'll get really awkward at Abstergo if he relives a sexual encounter.
