Assassin's Creed - Part 1

It's a better trailer but it's more or less 75% of the same footage as what was in the last couple.

I think what I'm not liking is the color palette, especially for the past sequences. Everything just looks beige dusty and hazy.
Yep. I don't like looking at the movie, and that doesn't help.

I'm hoping the cinematography in Assassin's Creed is as varied as Macbeth's cinematography.

His Macbeth had cold color grading:

And normal day lighting:

And it had some extreme color grading at times:

It's like the film went from cold to hot as it progressed and as Macbeth grew more unstable and unhinged.

That trailer caught my attention. Another rebellion is rising, all of these rebellion/revolution films strike a chord. Looks awesome!

A look at the score, along with new footage with the Kurzel Bros'.

I love Kurzel's first film, Snowtown, as well as Macbeth. But, this doesn't feel like either of those pictures. It feels conventionally commercial, and based on what we have seen, the editing is so different from his previous movies. In his other pictures, you really absorb the cinematography, because the film isn't stimulated by an overabundance of cuts. Here it's cut like a typical blockbuster and it really seems to hinder his style.

My expectations continue to lower.

Justin Kurzel reveals where he'd like an Assassin's Creed sequel to go

Kurzel revealed that he would like to set the sequel during the Cold War in 1950's America.

I thought about maybe not going too far back, maybe into, like, the ’50’s in America. You know, I think that could be a really interesting period around the Cold War. Traditionally, I think they’ve gone back further than that. Recent history is something I’m quite interested in. You can definitely kind of do a film-noir thing to it.

O_o

Kurzel must have a boring imagination. He's given a property that allows characters to travel to any time period and see ancient spectacular things, but the best and most exciting thing he can think of is the Cold War? If this film gets a sequel, I hope they get someone else to direct the sequel.

Given the disastrous marketing which will probably lead to box office flop this movie getting a sequel would be a miracle

This reminds of the Hitman movie producer said they would do a shared "Square Enix" universe if the new movie was a hit. Welp...

You can go from 1st century Roman Empire to Japanese set Shogunate to 14th century Plague Ravaged Western Europe. And if those locations are not interesting you can always do setting on one of already made games locations with complete different storyline. Assassin's Creed movie has potential to be anything and everything. You can make any kind of movie you want, any kind of genre. You can go Black Flag route with Pirates of the Caribbean theme for instance.

Basically go in any part of past where opponents DONT have machine guns and automatic weapons and tanks. Basically anything before WW1. For me this confirms Kurtzel is a idiot.

I dont know if this movie will be good enough to get sequel. Likley not, but still you can't say this kind of stupidity out loud. It's forbidden.

Damn. I liked Macbeth, but this sounds bad. To be honest, I've been trying to get more excited for this movie than what the trailers and the clunky dialogue are promising. I really don't think this will be the first good video game movie.

...Really? They could go to ANY time period. Anytime, any setting. Like, say, feudal Japan, and he picks the cold war?

I think he should travel to 1984 so he can see The Goonies premiere. :o

The awful editing aside...that stupid ****ing animus. I swear that thing is going to drive me crazy. Why is Marion's character telling him to jump like his life depends on it? Why is she talking to him at all at that moment? And him climbing around while connected to the animus and dodging non existent arrows.

Movie Animus, why you so stupid?!:cmad:

I don't think it did.

Their movements in those rigs have a mechanical purpose and are no different from using levers and wheels to move the servos which in turn move the machine. The use of two pilots and that bridge stuff is pretty stupid however.

In the case if the animus there is no sensible reason for him to be moving around at all. He isnt moving a physical machine. He is experiencing a memory by way of his brain and a computer. Think of it like a dream. When we dream do we need to act out the motions to dream that we are running, jumping, walking etc? Him simply lying their thinking about the act of running and jumping should be enough for the animus. It is in the games, but I guess this animus in the film is a ****** alpha build.

The biggest crime of the movie animus is it looks dumb as hell.

And incredibly uncomfortable. The harness that Fassbender had to wear couldnt have been kind to his nether regions.
