Assassins Creed: Revelations

Yea my sister was playing it today and I watched for a bit. Love the look of the city it now takes place in, was deff getting tired of the previous setting. Hopefully I'll get to it this weekend, depends on how many dragons I can slay.

LOL, I've actually been the opposite. I've played ACR more than Skyrim, but that's mostly because I haven't had time to really get into Skyrim yet, and I've been trying to finish off what should've been a quick and easy platinum with LEGO Harry Potter. But after today, I'll have plenty to keep me busy for the weekend and the Thanksgiving break.

I really love the new gameplay mechanics. I hope they keep making more ac. These are my favorite type of game(stealth action). Reminds me of playing tenchu way back.

inceptiony but good story, istanbul didn't do much for me as compared to venice and rome.

....It's Constantinople, not Istanbul.

(I'm sorry, it just *had* to be said/sung....:woot:)

Surprisingly I still haven't gotten to the ending. I'm only on Memory 6. I'm really loving the game but I haven't felt as eager to finish it like I have with some other games this year, but the fact that I'm also in the middle of 3 other games might be to blame for that.

i like that they revisit the places from part one. i recognize lots of the scenery, just looks old and worn out.

Just finished it, and I loved the ending and I can't wait for ACIII.

I kinda knew they were going to end the game with Desmond getting out of the coma and "knowing" what to do or where to go.

I thought it was really awesome to have Ezio "meet" Altair in the end and to see his final moment. I don't know too much about Altair's life, but he seemed to have a really tragic life based on what was shown. As much as the apple gave him knowledge and wisdom, it also brought pain and sorrow, and he seemed to have gotten a little crazy or delusional towards the end because of it. But I thought it was a great choice to have his body in the vault as the hidden treasure because that moment where Ezio bids him peace was very emotional and well done.

As far as locations go, was that supposed to be somewhere in California. Those windmill looking things looked a lot like the ones that were in the GTA V trailer. I've read online some hints and it seems like Upstate NY may also be a possibility since that's where the coordinates were to in the Da Vinci Disappearance, and it seemed like Jupiter had pointed to that area on the map at the end, at least in terms of where the vault is.

But I'd almost imagine that most of Desmond's adventures may not necessarily be in present day, but rather through various memories of another world. I think much like Ezio was able to relive Altair's memories, I think we'll see something similar with Desmond and someone who was around the first time the world ended, just so he could see what led up to it and how he could stop it. There seemed to be a lot of emphasis on the woman and the baby, so it may be possible that we see that baby's life, growing up on an post-apocalyptic world, similar to how we saw Ezio born and later become an assassin in ACII. Of course, the question there is why would there be assassins at the start of a new world?

I also imagine a type of Tomb Raider/Uncharted kind of feel to it, with Desmond entering the vault and looking for secrets.

Also, I don't know if this was adressed anywhere in the game, but Altair's son shared a resemblance to Subject 16 the same way Altair shared one with Desmond.

And is William really Desmond's father?

It was New York, and Adam and Eve were the first Assassins and it was hinted they actually started the war to free the human race.

Yes, William Miles is Desmond's father. The only thing I'm confused about is how the hell did the Templars get Ezio's Apple from Cyprus when Altair never put his there? Altair lied about putting it there, but as luck would have it there was already one there? That's the only explanation I can think of, and it's rather weak.

Just finished watching AC: Embers:

I gotta admit I got a little teary eyed towards the end watching Ezio's last moment. I was also reading up on some stuff on his character wikia and just seeing pics of him from the last two games really makes me feel like he's one of the most compelling characters in gaming history. From recent memory, I really love characters like Nathan Drake, John Marston and Cole Macgrath. But with Ezio, just the fact that we witnessed his birth, the tragedy of his family, his training as an Assassin and "prophet", as well as his rise to leadership of the Brotherhood and his journey to find out Altair's secrets, you can see that the guy lived a pretty full life, and we were there for most of it. It kind of sucks that he died much younger than Altair, but at least he was finally able able to live a life outside of the Order and died peacefully right near where his family was killed.

Ah, okay. There's so much about the history that its hard to really keep up with every little detail and hint.

Yeah, I read about that too and I'm hoping we get an explanation of that too because I'm curuios to know what really happened, even though [BLACKOUT]I know there were many pieces of Eden hidden around the world, and it would be extremely coincidental if there just so happened to be a piece there already.[/BLACKOUT]

Did anyone else...

LOL hardcore when you had to disguise yourself as one of those singing little flakes with the guitars? Those guys use to piss me off to no end in ACII, now I'm one of them! :awesome:

I used to
kill them from time to time. Then I realized you can just run into them to make them drop their lute.

So I spent large part of the night getting the ishak pashas assassin outfit. Only to have Ubisoft punch me in the balls and remove the cool looking mask in the cutscenes...

Who the hell made that decision? I have to speak with him...

I was thrilled at that decision, personally, because it would have taken all the drama out of so many scenes. The scenes with Ezio and Sofia were so great, having him in a scary mask would have totally undermined that, not to mention that the new facial animations are great as well.

So you go put on one of the other costumes.

But I don't need to, do I?

I don't get why you'd be annoyed, first of all, so many games don't even bother to let you see your chosen costumes during cutscenes because of pre-rendering, in this game, not only do you get to see whatever outfit you're wearing, but they go to the extra effort to make it fit contextually in the scene.

If it's an action cutscene, he wears the mask. If it's talking, he takes it off. That's the way it is, deal with it.

I haven't seen any action scenes with it on yet. Only scenes where he is talking to Sophia. Those are the only ones I've done with the suit.

I'm annoyed because you go through some great trials and errors to obtain the costume. The least they can do is just leave it the way it is in the cutscenes. Or at least go with an option to toggle the mask on or off.

I remember in AC II, they used to have Ezio's hood be down whenever he talked to Leonardo, but it was usually up with other people. I thought that was pretty cool.

You hardly have to go through 'trials and errors' to get this armour. You collect 10 collectibles, 9 of which you can collect all of when you first get to Constantinople.

I don't get why you'd want this freaky, persian death mask on while Ezio is expressing his feelings of love to a character he DOESN'T want to know he is an Assassin. I mean, sure I get you might WANT to do that, but you should be understand why Ubisoft might have gone to the trouble of removing the mask for those sections because I think far more people, like me, would be annoyed that they went to all the effort to get this strong armour but then have the rest of the story scenes diminished because they can't see Ezio's face. His facial animations are fantastic in this game too, so many subtle expressions. I empathised with Old Ezio more than I ever did with Old Snake (on a physical performance level). There was just so much character in that face, it could be really warm and cheeky or sad and tired. I hope they expand and refine that for the next game.

Finding the scrolls yeah, but not actually getting the armor. Took me quite a few times to make it to the top of that building. It's a cosmetic preference for me overall, the mask is cool looking, so I would of loved to have seen it in more sequences.
