Assassins Creed: Revelations

Finished the game last night, I liked the ending, though the way it finally finished was a bit lame. Still, overall another good AC game. I liked the den defense game, I don't why some people didn't.

right now im experiencing the glitch where the bank doesn't give you any money, and it's making me upset

Hate that the game now punishes you for renovating buildings. Wouldn't be too bad if they still had the posters you could rip from Brotherhood. I just find myself looking everywhere for a herald.

I hate it even more that the punishment is that your den gets attacked. I mean its a cool idea, but I don't like playing Den Defense so after I locked all my dens, I was hoping that I wouldn't have to worry about that anymore.

I like that they got rid of the posters... It was always too easy to stay anonymous. It makes being cautious and stealthy a more important part of gameplay, as they should. And having your dens get attacked if you're too notorious is a great incentive for that as well.

Here's a typical scene in this game

- Me with full Templar Awareness
- Me looking everywhere for a herald to bribe or a witness to assassinate
- Me getting spotted by bad guys
- Me spending a good three minutes fighting them off (increasing my awareness)
- Me returning to finding heralds
- Me getting a message that my Den is under attack
- Me having to endure ten minutes of the awful Den Defense minigame
- Me losing
- Me having to regain my Den
- Me returning to square one

LOL, that's what kept happening to me until I realized that they attacked my dens because of my notoriety and that it increased whenever I bought shops. I literally had like 3-4 dens that were being attacked at the same time and I kept struggling to defeat the last enemy with the fire.

But they can't attack a den that's been locked down. Your best bet is, rather than focusing on holding a den, focus on training up all your Assassins. Then, when you have a few high ranking Assassins, you can start locking them down, all in one go.

Also, the guards in an area with a Master Assassin controlled Den are less hostile than other guards.

Yeah, I have my 7 Master Assassins so I haven't really had to worry about guards anymore or Den Defense anymore. But I've been trying to get some of the combat trophies, like killing 3 guards with 1 knife, and I haven't been able to do that since the only guards that patrol now are Janissaries and they aren't taken down as easily. I'm guessing I'll just have to save those trophies for when I replay the memories for 100% synch.

Am I the only one that loves running into random people by the docks and knocking them into water? I espcially love surprising people sitting down to fish

Finished it yesterday. Wouldn't really say the game had many "revelations" per se. It was sort of like the telly series 'Lost' where they keep asking questions until everyone gets bored and wanders off.

I wish they hadn't rushed it out in a year. They should have forgotten about Assassin's Creed Revelations and used the time to make a really fantastic Assassin's Creed III.

Oh well, just my opinion anyway. Now I can give Skyrim a go at least!

It had plenty of revelations, just not for Desmond, which is fair enough considering AC 3 is meant to be the one that wraps up Desmonds story. As far as Altair and Ezio are considered though, I feel like everything was covered. The only questions I have left are regarding Desmond and the temple stuff. In fact, even considering that, we STILL found out more about Desmond than we had in past games, not to mention that

awesome end of the world cutscene

when you get your templar awareness up look for the templar official cause he travels with 2 militia. And its 3 throwing knives at once i believe

LOL, yeah I forgot about that. I actually tried it a couple of times but either hit a civilian that got in the way, and was spotted before I could hit all three straight on. I've gotta try again though.

Words cannot describe how much I loathe Den Defense, it's a great idea, I was so looking forward to it, but it was terribly executed. It's the worst thing about the entire game. I've had to turn off my console four times just so I could start again.

I don't see what the fuss is, ya build up a defense of barricades, rifleman, and crossbow archers, and hold your ground. The more Ottoman you kill, more Morale Points ya get, so ya put even more defenses. They really aren't that hard. I only failed once, the rest I did were easy.

The people on the ground are fine, it's when the tank appears, destroys your defenses with one hit and then destroys your den in five, then it sucks hard.

Yeah, I kept getting defeated by the earlier ones with the fire that would just burn down all of my barricades. It also sucks because you really just want to go down there and kill everyone on your own, but all you can do is shoot them with a bullet.

Yeah, I didn't MIND the Den Defence but i didn't enjoy it or really look forward to it, but I found that also served to make me a more cautious player. To be honest, that's what I loved about this game. People have always been complaining that the AC was too easy, and now instead of simply adding a difficulty setting where enemies can do more damage or you can get less health, there are all these great systems in place that create difficulty. If you want things to go smoothly and be able to walk freely, then you need to be constantly aware of bribing officials etc. You have to move through the city like an assassin would, hiding in plain sight. I used blending with groups more than I EVER did in the other games and I found the experience all the more rewarding for it. It's the same reason I like the 100% sync challenges on each mission. Sure I could just run through and kill everyone, but going for the challenge makes me feel more like a Master Assassin. I loved the challenge in this game.

you have to have an insane amount of rifle men to take it down, and your cannon shots, which for some reason, suck against siege engines. However a trick is to upgrade your barrier right when it's being attacked cause it resets the barrier hp. Once you beat that greek fire tank you don't have to deal with it for awhile and you get weaponised barriers.

I just thought I'd say (spoilers) that the

End of the World sequence was ****. I really hope that Man of Steel has a similar sequence for the destruction of Krypton. Didn't quite understand what happened with Desmond and Zeus/Jupiter.

But it all seems real now that the series is coming to a close. Altair and Ezio are now both dead, and I was kinda saddened by that, especially with a 92 year old Altair fumbling around in the dark for a place to rest, and his life just fizzles away.

Dude, it's not that hard to use Spoiler tags.

Btw, has anyone else watched Embers yet?
