Watch Dogs wasn't, Second Son wasn't, The Order won't be, neither will Destiny, and they even lied about Killzone. I also believe tha Ghost shipped with it SP not being 1080p on the PS4, though they fixed that.

So the big exclusive this year wasn't and the big early exclusive next year won't be. The two of the three big MP titles, weren't. So the games that matter, not happening.

Lower. Too many console games sacrifice res and fps for "pretty graphics". The Order is already doing it. Don't believe their lame excuses. If you want an example, go to youtube and find a guy named Total Biscuit. He talks about it quite a bit. He even has a video dedicated to it.

If it's 1080p I don't care if it's 30 or 60fps. People say they can't tell a difference between 1080 and 720 (which leads me to believe some peoples red don't work) but I myself notice that more than a difference between 30 and 60.

FPS go straight to the gameplay. The difference between 30 and 60 is absolutely insane. Again, I would suggest Total Biscuit's video on the topic. I don't think I can post a link because I believe he uses naughty language.

If you want a practical example and have a Wii U, play Mario Kart 8 splitscreen. A different game.

thanks for the bump up bens ok needed to address this

Altair was decent,
Ezio was perfect (will always be THE assassin, no matter how many others come),
Connor was okay, but nothing special,
and Edward was great.

Unfortunately, if the pattern continues, Arno will be disappointing. Hopefully they break the pattern. I don't know anything at all about him...the only thing I've seen about the game is the E3 stuff. Can't wait for the previews and stuff to come out.

Is anyone else concerned that the focus on co-op will hurt the single player stuff? Will Arno be less developed and rich as the previous Assassins? I'm a lone wolf, never play online with people, so I really hope the single player material isn't shortchanged.

this is from pc gamer
Obviously the co-op is a huge part of Unity. How do you guys create missions that can accommodate four players while also being satisfying to one?
First, one thing we decided very early on that we didn't want to do was fake co-op gating. So there's a door, there's two levers and two players can pull the levers to open the door, right? So if you eliminate that sort of co-op, you're left with a co-op where players need to co-operate to face a challenge that's maybe too challenging to face alone. And the other way of encouraging co-op is the opposite. You can either throw something hard at the player and force them to join up, or you can give them bonuses if they get closer together. So we're using that to encourage co-op.
Now, how do we make missions that can be satisfying for one or done by four? It really depends again on the way you observe the missions. If you're two players and you notice there's a guard defending the gate and there's a lockpick behind that gate, one player might decide to distract the guard and pull him away from his guardpost, while the other one unlocks the door—boom, you've breached. If you play by yourself, you look at that situation, you look at your tools depending on what you have you might use a different strategy. For example, a smoke bomb. So it's always possible to do a mission by yourself and with players. It just depends on imagination, the tools you have and your level of skills.

Another thing we've added that helps us with that is the fact that now our characters progress...in Assassin's Creed there was very little progression in IV, right? The character you had at the beginning and end was very similar. This is not true today. We have skill points, you start with a character that has the very bare minimum. As you collect skill points you can invest in different skills. You saw the lockpick skill—if you don't have a lockpick skill, you can't lockpick. But if you have lockpick skill one, and you try to unlock a level three chest, that's more challenging and you're gonna break more lockpicks, that's a minigame. So if you try to perform a mission and you're very strong, and it's a moderately challenging mission, you might be able to pull it off alone. If not, you might need to join up with friends.
That's another thing, our missions now have different areas of difficulty, [one to four stars]. Everything is unlocked. You can try a four-star mission at the beginning of the game, but you might find it very difficult. However, maybe if you play with friends, maybe it makes it a little easier. And again, because our missions, all the co-op missions are black boxes, they're all 360, they all have different ways you can approach them, which means that even if you're able to play alone and you complete the mission by yourself, there might be some really cool things you can't do alone, but if you play it with friends you can do it another way. So it's not just completing a mission, it's how you complete it and the fun you have while you're doing it.

How does the story reflect there being four players in a mission?

I can answer that by explaining how the co-op and single-player work. So everything is in the same world, it's seamless. The singleplayer story is all about Arno's narrative, his story, his redemption quest. The co-op missions are what we call Brotherhood missions, these are the things Arno does for the assassins. So they're different—however, they're all part of the same progression and world seamlessly.

All from here:http://www.pcgamer.com/2014/06/10/a...player-freedom-and-open-ended-assassinations/

so it's not forced and you can still play alone if you so choose

oh as to the current conversation You all are having

This was asked to EPN.TV and they answered it on video.well it's slightly off and on the same topic. It's in this same link below.

Twitter Question: That HAS To Be Next-Gen!

When will we see games that we know could not be done on old consoles?

Ah ok, yeah.. In FPS I do agree about that. Forgive my previous dumbness as I was posting fresh out of bed. I don't worry about it as much in 3rd person games though.

I'm sure the Halo MC Collection will be great at 1080/60FPS. It will actually be interesting to see which console focuses on this going forward.

When it comes to FPS, is it like Resolution where the eye can only tell with a certain size TV? From what iv read, the human eye flat out can not detect the difference between 720 and 1080 on a tv 32'' or smaller. Is FPS the same?

I'm a AC nut! The series got me my gaming mojo back. I love it so much.

I'm going next gen the day unity comes out.

I'm thinking about the Xbox One - I know it's underpowered - no 1080p/60 frames etc. But somehow I just love the physical console, controller and the high contrast look (I can't get that look playing with my tv settings) more than the PS4.

Am I an idiot for choosing the Xbox one? AC is almost all I care about in gaming now.

An Xbox one for AC instead of the PS4 - Am I making the right choice?

It was shown at the MS stage at E3 so it can't be that bad?

I think buying any console just for AC is a bit nutty haha, but no going XB1 isn't a bad route to take, especially if you are only interested in a few franchises. The X1 is deff the better console for "outside gaming" features. By a wide margin at this point.

On 32" tv no you can't tell the difference.. Most of those T 'a however don't go up to 1080 so it wouldn't matter. In that casei doubt it would matter with FPS but I'm no expert in that regard.

Also the days of it being underpowered are going away. Bungie came out and said that Destiny will look the same on both consoles now due to the Kinect being removed.

No problem, and I do agree that FPS is most important when it comes to first person shooters. But once I started playing games on a pretty good PC, the difference in all games became quite noticeable. You start to realize how much you are missing on a gameplay front.

If you want a good example, if you own a good fighting game, like say Street Fighter 4, it runs at 60fps. If you play it on a television/monitor with at least 60 hertz, you will see it at 60fps. If you then watch at youtube video of someone playing Street Fighter, it will look noticeably less "smooth" and slower. That is because YT caps at 30fps.

FPS does not work like that. The size of the screen does not matter. Basically, FPS is the refresh rate. How quickly new information (the image) is sent. The hertz on your monitor/tv do matter. If you have 60 hertz, you can have 60fps, 120 hertz, you can theoretically have 120fps.

If you'd like to learn more, I'd suggest this.

Better without Kinect. :funny:

Iv heard that's overblown, that removing the kinect won't really make any difference. Wasn't it Naughty Dog that said that?

I remember mentioning that to parker before Bens started saying the same with talk about removing kinect ad took over from there. but this is interesting to hear that Naughty Dog that's been exclusive since their start to sony is saying that of all people.

They have to have been working on the system to make that claim. when did they start working for ms and not have the rest of the ps fan base screaming at them or wish they didn't do as insomniac did? lol now if they haven't gone multiplat like insomniac did which I don't remember hearing they were one of those dev's ad publishers happy to hear they wo't to deal with kinet and they will try and find ways to use that extra power o the Xbox 1 which most of the other Dev studios told the gamers media since it was stated I'm sure a lot of ps fan will have sigh of relief o hearing that Naughty Dog is still exclusive.

I don't think they have, I just thought they said these devs weren't going to get these power increase that they thought they would. I could be way off tho, I'll have to look to see if I can find exactly what was said.

well if it was a single worker of a dev doing smack that's one thing. but i can't see Naughty Dog doing that them selves. that sounds more like most of the people in the management side of EA that like to talk smack about Nintendo most of which hopefully have been fired from that place. or have be seriously bee demoted so they can't do that any more. Any way Naughty Dog are cool and professional people . Anyway it would be weird period unless they are working on it. otherwise it's smack talk which they wouldn't do ether.

Well I don't think it was meant as smack talk. They weren't trying to put anyone down or anything. Again, I'll need to see if I can find what it was that I read.

Absolutely gorgeous. Can't wait for this game!
I'm wondering if, and hoping that, they'll get the rights to certain literary characters who absolutely belong in this setting, like Scaramouche, The Scarlet Pimpernel, Madame Defarge, and Charles Darnay/Sydney Carton.

Ubisoft enlists 'Chief Parkour Officer' for Assassin's Creed

To cement its place as the leading purveyor of acrobatic yet physically implausible action games, Ubisoft has hired famed freerunner Michael "Frosti" Zernow as its new Chief Parkour Officer.

"Ubisoft's new Chief Parkour Officer will serve in a strategic advisory role, ensuring an ongoing commitment to the authenticity and accuracy of parkour beginning with the October 28 launch of Assassin's Creed: Unity, the next installment of the 76 million unit-selling Assassin's Creed franchise," reads the publisher's official announcement. "He will also advise on ways for the company and its franchise to continue its ongoing advocacy for the sport."

Zernow is uniquely qualified for the CPO role, both due to his experience as a coach at California's Tempest Freerunning Academy and his history of working with Ubisoft's motion capture team on stunts for prior Assassin's Creed games. "I've been a long-time fan of the Assassin's Creed franchise, and it's one of the few highly visible examples of parkour that attracts younger athletes to the sport every year," Zernow said.
