Did you not see the post I quoted? The part I highlighted in bold? My point was there is nothing to say the games shouldn't run the same on both systems.

yes. Marvolo said that the PS4 shouldn't be held back by the X1 version and you said "Based on What?".

were you asking where in the article does it say the PS4 was being held back by the X1?

No, I read the article. My question is why shouldn't the games run the same on both system. He said it shouldn't, and I was asking "based on what".

ah. I see. got ya!

I think they should run the same - ideally at 1080p. :cwink:

Do you have a TV large enough to spot the difference? I swear I feel like im the only one here with a tiny ass 32" TV. Im starting to feel inadequate

Everyone complaining about lack of 1080 should put a disclaimer as to rather or not they have a TV capable of displaying the difference. If not, you lose your right to moan over sub 1080.

I went from a 60 inch to a 58 inch television. Much better quality with my new one however. 1080p definitely matters on my TV. That being said, I don't honestly care that much about resolution. What matters to me is FPS.

you might be. 32" is relatively small and the trend from the last several years has been increasing screen size. On the flipside, you seem to be getting vocal, acting like your 32" is the norm and disregarding that many have larger sets these days. Your dismissal and contempt for people not liking what Ubisoft has done is under the assumption that others have small tvs when more and more homes contain at least one larger tv

Again you (and many opposers) are missing the point that many on here have and that it isn't simply that the game isn't 1080p

I have a 40" tv.

and I probably couldn't tell the difference between 900p or 1080p unless if you told me the difference.

as long as it looks fine and plays fine, that's fine by me.

but if it's capable of getting to 1080p without compromising performance, then why not?

I don't tihnk it is very wise to buy a console based on which could potentially run a game "better". If that is your concern, it is all about PC. Personally, I buy consoles based on exclusives. Which is why I own all three. :D

I get the argument. People are whining that their majestic PS4 version of AC U is being downgraded in order to evenly match the homely X1 version of the game. I get that, but again if you don't have a TV that can spot the difference, I think its a stupid argument nonetheless. Which is why I suggest the disclaimer.

No theres no "probably", you CANT tell the difference on a TV that small.

Whose to say it can? We were never assured the PS4 version was gonna be 1080. They needed a post launch patch to get ACIV running at 1080 and it wont have nearly as many NPC's running at once the way AC U will.

eh. I'm going to try to do all of my gaming on my PS4 and PS3. :o

though the Wii U is starting to look more attractive as a secondary console.

I wouldn't be surprised if they announced a day 1 1080p patch for the PS4 after all this.

That is a good point. This is a nice "excuse" for why the game isn't at 1080p for Ubisoft.

and so far, what they've shown of the game looks stunning.

if that's 900p, then I don't think us gamers have too much to worry about. ;)

If they can get the game to 1080p sure. The problem with this whole thing is that people assumed the game was running in 1080 then downscaled to 900 to match the performance of the X1, which is not what happened. The game never reached that benchmark.

AC Unity is a wholly different beast from ACIV. AC IV was a port, this game has been developed ground up for the current gen hardware.

I doubt what they have shown is 900p. Vertical slices are almost always based on expectations, not actual results.

and that's a good point, too. this is the 1st "true" new gen AC game.

so what they've shown is less than 900p? or higher?

Most likely higher. I doubt they have shown any footage not in 1080p yet. Not that we'd really know. Most video players wouldn't show it at its best.

ah.

well, guess we'll find out in a month when the game comes out.

What matter to me is...

Did anybody else see that story trailer and think they showed Arno tackling his drill seargent Assassin through Notre Dame's window? Because an Assassin vs Assassin fight in the greatest church in Paris would be epic.

Yea I'm super intrigued by the story in this one. Can't wait to see what they do.

I kind of wish they also let you play as that Templar lady, Elise. to play the story through her eyes.

I know it's called Assassin's Creed, but maybe in future DLC, they can let us play as Elise.

that being said, I'm interested in the (love) story between Arno and Elise.

or, we can do the opposite where people with smaller TVs (I myself at the moment have a 32" in my dorm room as well) mention the disclaimer instead. as havok pointed out, the average for television screens has gone up way higher. in the 8 years or so, I'd say.

and you really can see a difference, at least with 720pvs1080p. dunno bout 900 tho. I remember playing Uc2 on a 61" at home and the graphics looked great, but the jagged edges/AA had issues and visuals were also not so sharp - they still LOOKED great though. needless to say regardless of AC5's resolution i'm sure the game's gonna look gorgeous anyway.
