Incidentally peoples, Thor was awesome. Better than Iron Man. There's a few little quibbles I had (would have liked a more classical look for the frost giants for example) but they were mostly fanboy ones.
Was good, I think Marvel recognised it as a film they HAD to get right because Thor doesn't stand on it's own as a Marvel character as much as Cap or Iron Man (in terms of recognition... many would think more of the God of Norse lore, particularly outside of the US, rather than the Marvel character) and put more into it in the process.
More CGI feel to it than the Iron Man movies, but not overly negative... you couldn't really make it in any other way.
The Portman/Hemsworth scenes were a bit "Ugh..." at times, but for the most parti ti was good. Renner has an even better presence as Hawkeye than I first thought for him (but then I hadn't really put that much thought in to it in the first place...).
It doesn't really need to be said, i suppose, but Anthony Hopkins is freaking awesome and had more screen time than I thought he'd have.
Stay for the final cut-scene, it changed how I thought about Cap/Avengers...
Anyway... that's about as much as I can say without giving too much away...
So off to work, and the immense penalty rates that await me for working a 15:00-23:00 shift on Good Friday, I go...
