Honestly a lot more interesting than his one-note character in the first one, so I'll give it that at least.

I think the live action stuff looks better interacting with the CG backgrounds and characters... at least from what I can tell by the leaked trailer. That was the one thing from the 09 movie that hasn't really held up as well as today.

Could be. He could also be what the synopsis is referring to as an old threat. Maybe he's just co opted it to his advantage.

Yeah I have to be honest; I found the first movie very generic in a lot of ways but I LOVED Quaritch. I’m not sure why or how he’ll be brought back as an Avatar but his presence definitely makes this movie more interesting to me.

I don't like Quaritch, but I like Stephen Lang as an actor so if he gets to play a more three-dimensional character this time around with this resurrection, then that's definitely an improvement.

All of the most interesting characters with the exception of Neytiri died in the first one so I'm not surprised that at least Lang and Sigourney Weaver are back to some capacity.

Quaritch was definitely a fan favorite. Everyone loved him. Lang gave a very layered and charismatic performance.

90% of what I remember from the first one is just Stephen Lang in a mech suit twirling a giant hunting knife. So yeah, best part.

I have seen the trailer. It looked visually stunning but for me it seemed too similar to the first movie.
The trailer ends with "It's our fortress".

I would say just flat out *the* best part, at least in terms of characters. I especially like the irony that if *he* had been the Avatar project envoy to Na'vi. . . well, its a 50/50 coin flip between "War with the Na'vi would start like *right now*" and "Wow, despite kind of hating them he is also the perfect person to understand and interact with them, seeing as they are both xenophobic warriors".
