Sci-Fi Avatar: The Way Of Water

I imagine we're not too far off from a 4K/Blu-ray announcement for this since it's lost IMAX screens to Quantumania and the box office is starting to get more crowded.

What? Jimbo should water down his brand with pointless small screen spin-offs. Missed opportunity.

I need 3 seasons of The Avatar Chronicles: The Norm Spellman Adventures.

I mean technically you got it with all of those deleted scenes from the first one that got rid of his subplot and his romance with Michelle Rodriguez.

That’ll be the next thing to save money, grab all the hours and hours of deleted scenes from Avatar or Marvel or Star Wars and just make a Disney+ series from them. “Here’s your table scraps fans!” lol

And there will still be hundreds of “How did this new series fit into the timeline”.

This bad boy deserves more than pathetic streaming bit rates. I’m actually buying the physical release. Along with true lies and the Abyss. Come on Cameron.

I'm thinking this gets a physical disc release before it hits Disney+ instead of the other way around like it usually is.

Avatar: The Way of Water Digital Release Date Set for March – The Hollywood Reporter

As part of the release, Disney and 20th Century will debut three hours of bonus materials focusing on topics such as performance capture, creating the undersea world of Pandora, the introduction of the Metkayina reef clan, and the casting of the young actors joining the franchise in Way of Water. It also goes deep into the post-production process at New Zealand visual effects house Weta, explores how the cast lived on the land in Hawaii in preparation for becoming N’avi, and dedicates an entire segment to Spider, the character played by actor Jack Champion. The features also delve into the stunts, Cameron’s virtual production team at Lightstorm Entertainment, and The Troupe — the group of performers who play dozens of characters throughout the film.

Hopefully the delay in announcing a 4K is because Cameron has something big in mind. Maybe a 3D home release as well.

I imagine the 4K/Blu-ray will follow around mid-late April.

Hopefully not. I can’t see Cameron allowing it as the 4k would be a higher presentation for his film.
