Wonder what Mordo is doing now? He thought there were too many sorcerers. Thanos has him beat too many people! snap. Sorcerer population even smaller now.

Given how this film did manage to incorporate many elements from the original IG Comic story I have to ask this about the next movie... What about Warlock? We see him teased in the last Guardians film incubating if you will. With time travel shenanigans in play I think for the A4... Could we get Warlock in it playing a role similar to what was done in the original story?

One of my favorite moments with Thanos in the movie is when he sees Gamora as a child, answers her question with he succeeded, with remorse on his face, and the credits roll with a sad melody.

The way he says yes is like a child responding to their parent when they know they did bad.

They have Captain Marvel coming in I don't think they want to bring in too many new characters. She is having a movie too so her story will be out. A4 needs to be about the originals and a handful of others characters that happen to have their movies in between. Warlock in would feel forced, also I think A4 is done any Warlock casting would have been leaked. the character would be on set a lot.

Just let Warlock debut in GOTG3 and become a big part of the MCU after. Maybe in the future Thanos and him will meet.

Very good. If just a bit more Cap it would be the best. While the beginning was too much divided (too many separate storylines), from the moment we had just three - Wakanda, Titan and Thor plot: superb. It recalled not the ESB but ROTJ. 9/10.

How is the ending of IW not wrapping up its narrative?

Because we're flat out told that it's not the ending (Dr. Strange basically tells us he's playing the long game).

Also the post-credit basically says "yeah this isn't over, help is coming and the fights just started."

It was blatantly "Part 1" despite Marvel's claims to the contrary.

I saw it for a second time today and those 2,5 hours just flew by. It even felt quicker than the first time.

And damn Thanos has such good emotional moments on Vormir and when he meets child Gamora after having completed the snap.

After seeing it twice and soaking it in the last few days, here are my thoughts on Infinity War.

I absolutely love it. It's in my top three MCU films. It would have been number one if it had spent a little more time with Team Cap because I felt the scenes that took place on Earth felt particularly rushed, but it's still excellent nonetheless.

I'm sure Cap will have his time to shine in the next Avengers film, but aside from Thanos (who I'll get to in a minute), some of the standout characters in this movie were Stark, Strange, Thor and the Guardians, with some scene stealing from Okoye as well. Thor in particular was one of the highlights of the film due to his grand entrance at Wakanda with Stormbreaker and Rocket and Groot in tow. The theater went nuts for that, but I'm sure there'll be a lot more groundbreaking moments like that in Avengers 4.

Thanos really is the center of the film, as he should be. His story is so compelling that it easily skyrockets him to the top of the MCU villains list. Maybe even CBM villains in general. Even though what he did to Gamora was wrong, you still felt for him because of how Brolin portrayed him. Frankly, this is probably the finest mocap acting by anyone not named Andy Serkis.

Even with the cliffhanger, this still felt like a complete film regardless. It's definitely more of an Empire Strikes Back than a Deathly Hallows Part 1 as far as cliffhangers go. I just loved how ballsy Marvel got after playing it relatively safe until now. Of course the characters lost in the snap will return, but that still doesn't lessen the shock of seeing characters like Black Panther and Spider-Man fade into dust. The latter emotionally destroyed me. Tom Holland really is a pro at the heavy emotional moments.

Overall, this is the only MCU film besides the first Avengers that I'm compelled to see more than twice in theaters. I can only imagine what Marvel has in store for us in the next year leading up to Avengers 4.

I agree with a lot of your post; the movie was fantastic albeit seemed rushed at times. I wish the movie was another 20 minutes longer to capture a little bit more.

I felt the exact same (I watched it again 2 days later), also I enjoyed it even more the second go around.

Hello,

I am really not a type of person that looks for mistakes in movies, mostly because I enjoy every second of masterpieces that those people create, but something catched my attention while watching trailer on more time, after seeing Infinity Wars.

In the trailer, one scene is showing Captain America holding down Thanos's hand (with gauntlet on it). There are only two infinity stones in gauntlet, in that scene. As we all have seen the movie, we know that Captain and Thanos meet for the first time when Thanos comes to Earth to collect one final infinity stone, so in this scene, there should be more than 2 infinity stones on the gauntlet (5 of them precisly).

I don't know if anyone saw this before, but it catched my eye so I had to share with rest of you. Regardless, movie kicks asses!!!!!

Cheers!

Something I haven’t seen brought up here yet is Thanos arrival to Wakanda.

Time slows down, slow motion Thanos walking towards our heroes. LOUD drum score playing and he’s just brushing off these powerful heroes like little flies.

That’s climactic action done right, kudos to the Russo Brothers.

Oh and also appreciated the lack of music playing after Thanos snapped his fingers. Complete silence to accompany the dread of the Avengers and everyone in the audience

This is what I'm expecting. No new characters outside Cap Marvel who will be introduced in her own film between these two titans.

Yeah the lack of music and just that spooky background sound made the whole scene really eerie and haunting. I love how they did it.

Not a mistake on Marvel at all they do this on purpose. They don't want to reveal spoilers on trailers.

AoU group shot did not have Wanda and Pietro like the movie. Didn't want to give away that they join.

Civil War group run did not have Spider-Man in it until the last spot when the movie was coming out.

Ragnarok had a lot out like Thor fighting with one eye.

They marketed everything with just those two stones because Xandar is meh. They were easy pickings and Ragnarok ended with Thanos ship so they would get the stone. If they showed that he had all the stones in promotion some would think why bother we know he gets them all and wins.

Edited for the trailer. In the film the stones are present.

It's not like that in the movie...they done it for the trailer so that they don't reveal anything...it's how hulk is in the trailers but in the movie he's too scared to come out

The simplest answer is....there are a lot of things different in the trailers than in the movie. Marvel did this on purpose to mislead people on what will actually be in the movie. Another example is - Hulk is seen among the other superheroes charging at Thano's minions in the trailer....in the movie, Banner can't turn into the Hulk and is in the Hulkbuster armor instead.

Well, it makes perfect sense. Didn't think about that. Even if it was a mistake, movie still rocks!

If they did it on purpose....it's not a mistake....it's just different.

I've yet to see it ( my wife and I will see it Wednesday) but it's crazy to think that the Hulk took such a beating that he's now scared to come out.

The Hulk thing is the one I still haven't quite figured out, in terms of why they did it. The Thanos Gauntlet is easy-showing all five stones would spoil part of the movie.

But not showing Hulk, or just showing the Hulk Buster armor (which they had already shown in previous shots) in that charging shot wouldn't have given anything away. None of us would have none Hulk wasn't there because Banner couldn't transform into the Hulk.

And because of that I'm wondering if the Hulk charging shot is possibly from A4, given that we know time manipulation will come into play. It's possible we'll be seeing a modified version of events we witnessed in this film once the heroes go back and change things, Ala Back to the Future 2.

I don't know about the bits of footage. Something like the group charging toward the camera in Wakanda could just be a cool shot that they wanted for the trailer.

But, you could be right about the general direction for the story. The heroes try to figure out where it all went wrong and tweak the saga in subtle ways so that they end up winning.

If so, then that could be crazy, tbh, it would like turning the cliffhanger of this movie on its head so that it becomes a triumph for the Avengers.

Total speculation, of course, I have no idea what they have in mind. But it's a cool concept.
