Bad Comic Dialog (that makes you wanna rip your ears out of their canals)

:csad: The entire conversation is borderline ******ed. Hes being scolded for causing millions of dollars in property damage. To which he responds:"I did what I thought was right for America." And then hes told he has no concept of whats right for America since he doesn't have a myspace, doesn't watch The Simpsons ,American Idol or Youtube... WTF?!
And the look on his face,..She made him actually feel bad about it.

Yeah, that's the worst part. If he'd sat there and been like, "What the hell are you babbling about? You think any of that nonsense actually matters? You think any of it speaks to the spirit of America?" it would've been fine. Also, if he'd stood up and smacked her afterward, it would've been even better.

Moments where characters are alone and speaking out loud to convey their emotions and thoughts to the reader.

Hey, there's nothing wrong with talking to yourself.

"Sally, you ignorant ****!"

Well, I mean, I can understand Steve feeling bad because of what she said, due to it reminding him of his own old fashioned-ness and occasional social awkwardness, but that doesn't mean she's right and that doesn't mean that he should have sat there and let it seem like she'd won the argument. The sad face should have been immediately followed by "Is that what America is to you? Popular culture? Fads? This stuff..."myspace" and "youtube," they're here. And then tomorrow they'll be gone, replaced with something else, and children will look at the silly things their parents used to think were cool and laugh at them. Just like pulp magazines, swing dancing, black and white movies, or hundreds of other things from when I was young. They were here, and then they changed or were forgotten. What America is...that's the thing that doesn't change. At least, it hasn't so far. What America is, and what's important to it...all of that is summed up in the constitution. In the bill of rights. America is about those beliefs, and keeping itself, the society that should be embodying those beliefs, running and healthy. I may be behind on the details of what life is like in America, but I know what matters."

Or, you know, something to that effect.

People that fought in the big one arent suppose to give a crap about myspace or Idol. Besides, not watching the simpsons is what led to millions of dollars in property damage? What the hell does all that have to do with the price of tea in China? Steve may be old fashioned and a little socialy inept but thats probly because hes been kickin the **** out of people for seventy years.

Kicking the **** out of people is a form of social interaction. Just ask Eastwood.

EXACTLY. I worked at a summer camp for people with visual impairments (or "blindies," as I like to call 'em), and we had bathrooms with no stalls between toilets and no locks on the doors. So one time, I'm on my break, and I'm taking a ****. And this guy who was living in my cabin, went by "Brandie," but I can't remember his real name, this guy was a Pearl Harbor vet. And he just walks right into the bathroom, and keep in mind, he's not actually blind. He can see well enough to do most things. And he just walks right in on me, sits himself down on the toilet right next to me and starts taking a ****. And I'm like, "Brandie, I'm in here," as if he didn't know. And he's just like, "Yeah, OK."

Because he lived through Pearl Harbor. **** privacy. He doesn't have to give a **** about ANYTHING.

Wow, is that how Paul Jenkins views America? The funny was later in that issue Sally rips Tony Stark even worse when she finds out he was the "traitor", so...which side was Sally on? lol
Sally was the only character that wasn't bastardized in that entire crossover event, because Americans really are ****ing ******ed and they really do make their decisions based on gut emotion and little else, and they really do have no critical thinking skills, and they really do think that Myspace and NASCAR and 90% of the videos on Youtube are somehow important.

Wow, what a total generalization of Americans. I guess I could say something like all Brits have bad teeth, drink tea and eat crumpets and think their **** doesn't stink. I don't think I have ever said this to anyone in all the years I have been on this board, but you are an idiot.

It had to be posted.

Absolutely.
I'd like to add pretty much anything said by Luke Cage.

Wow, what a total generalization of Americans.
I've lived here all my life. I think I'm qualified to make a bitterly angry and caustic generalization like that. What, you think I'm 100% serious? Like I really believe that EVERY American is like that? I AM ONE, you humorless so-and-so. Yeesh.

But yes, this country is loaded with ****ing morons who don't understand anything. They're useless, they're stupid, they're anti-intellectual, they have no idea of what's important and necessary, they think "The Dark Knight" is cutting-edge film, they think "Lost" is the height of narrative fiction, they've never read Kurt Vonnegut but they love John Grisham's new book, they couldn't get a Mondrian or a Pollock if you broke it down and explained it to them for a week, they think T.S. Eliot doesn't make sense (if they even know who he is), they have no idea what their government is doing behind their backs but they think Obama is the second coming of Christ, they think Jesus is coming back for them, they think it's OK to cheat on their spouses as long as they go to church on Sunday, THEY ARE A ****ING DRAIN ON THE PLANET. They are horrible. And I hate them.

It has to be recent, 'cause "Sweet Christmas!" is the best catchphrase ever.

I know people stutter and use interjections a lot in real life, but transcribing that directly onto the printed page just makes for an annoying reading process.

For me it's more that some people stutter sometimes in ordinary conversation which has nothing whatsoever to do with Bendis' universe of ******s where nobody can choke out a single complete sentence. It has nothing to do with naturalistic dialogue and everything to do with exchanging one set of exaggerated cliches for another, much stupider and more irritating set of exaggerated cliches.

Oh my God, people like different movies and TV shows and books than you do. This is the worst day ever. I mean, people having their own opinions about fiction? What is this world coming to.

Also, note that I didn't put the stuff about the government and cheating on their spouses in bold because I agree that that stuff is actually dumb.

I'm going to have a staring contest with that image.

Actually, yes. I manage to keep a pretty good lid on my unfettered hate and misanthropy, because people that I actually meet in real life, I tend to be very fond of. People are wonderful as individuals, by and large. This allows me to be very outgoing and social.
