Bad Robot/Jonathan Nolan Bringing "Westworld" to HBO - Part 1

Easily the best episode of Westworld... Zahn McClarnon knocked it out of the park.

This episode belongs in the god tier category along with Teddy Perkins from Atlanta and Chapter 14 from Legion. Incredible stuff.

One of the best episodes on television this year and it hardly involved the main cast.

I'll echo that sentiment.

Also, the way Akecheta said he refused to leave without Kohana played eerily similar to the way Maeve refused to leave without her daughter. Like they're still following someone's script/programming.

I like it, it shows they are not just mindless. It may be code, but it's real to them.

What isn't real to them though? When Maeve is coded to be a ****e, surely she equally believes that life is real? The difference is when said hosts start questioning their lives and purpose, but then if they're ultimately craving their lost loved ones, is that because they've been coded to do so or are otherwise making decisions for themselves?

I find it interesting how they're all (seemingly?) reverting back to their earlier memories; Maeve started out as a mother, and wants to reclaim her daughter. Akecheta started out as a peaceful guy who now longs for his lost love, then you've got Delores (formerly Wyatt) who's resorted to her older ways of being a butcher or wherever they're going with her.

Wonderful episode, Zahn McClarnon's performance was top-class.

I've been enjoying this season as much as the first, if not more so, especially because I haven't perceived a drop in quality almost at all. I'm looking forward to the final two episodes and how they wrap it all up.

Ed Harris was definitely the MVP this week, and yes, a most excellent Father's Day present indeed.

Was waiting for Teddy to do something drastic. With how he hesitated and refused to kill those soldiers a few episodes back, figured that with his reprogramming that he would either snap or just outright turn on Dolores altogether.

I figured Teddy was going to do exactly what he did. It's a shame, though, because he could have stopped whatever it is Delores does next.

Another cracking episode; though I genuinely do wonder at this point whether William is a host or not; who knows what Ford is (or was?) capable of. I must admit I was a little hesitant about S2 after S1 was so brilliant, but S2 just gets better and better.

It didn't occur to me William could be a host until he started digging into his arm just like Bernard did.

I think that is William just having a mental break. He is desperate to be a host, because then he can have something else to blame for killing his daughter.

This season has been hit and miss for me. Ford's character last season was the connective tissue between everything, and now I feel like this season is jumping all over the place without an anchor for the audience. I feel disconnected with everything that is happening. There are occasional awesome episodes like the one from last week, but it works as a stand alone piece, it doesn't really move the plot forward in substancial ways.
I've been trying to find the right words to express how I feel about this season and "detached" is the one I was looking for. I know it is a good show with awesome ideas, but some things just aren't working for me.

It said "Scanning For Restraint Ordnance" which means it was checking for the explosive device that is in all the hosts. Maeve doesn't have one because she was rebuilt without it in the Season 1 finale.
