I love this version of Delores.

I love Dolores. She's got a great shape.

I am still confused by the reaction to her last season. Actually I take that back, I am not confused. I do find it kind of eye rolly. Because she stopped functioning as a damsel in distress, suddenly she was unlikable. Even as she was the only person on the show actually working towards trying to save her race of beings. Even Bernard had to admit that, when he got his game over screen, and had to restart the final level.

The first scene of the new season puts it all in pretty good perspective imo. She remembers everything. Every single time she was raped, murdered, and treated as a play thing. She's a survivor, and she should never apologize for that.

Thoughts S3 Ep1

Love the parallels between this supposed human(we may still be in another simulation) Caleb, living his meaningless programmed loop of a life, compared to the once simulated life of the hosts stuck in their loops.
As well the idea that he's "implanting" or re-living memories, in a parallel way the hosts were given reveries.
And if Dolores has access to the visitors algorithms (effectively human nature , thought process, decisions and consciousness all "coded") in the form of the books (the player piano-roll pages) , if she can predict their next move, and actions......

.....Then in the end what makes these supposed humans any different form the hosts?

Looks like we'll explore these recurring themes, the Hosts once experienced as they came to concessions, now humans could suffer the same realization, as Dolores manipulates them

Controlling the "Rehoboam" that giant "memory cortex" ball, built by the Insight company (whose symbol is not ironically yet another maze, this time instead of a flat surface is a sphere)

which again parallels the hosts memory cortex balls, \ the "device" and the algorithms it generates, is at the center of who controls or defines concessions.
If it can predict your decisions and actions, where is free will?

...how do you know or find out?

And yeah, Dolores!

I watched it again. So gooood.

I don't want to get anyone's hopes up and I am most likely wrong. But part of me wonders if this might actually get tied into POI. The Rehoboam interface bears more then a passing resemblance to Samaritan. The world they setup is so overtly similar, and HBO/Bad Robot are both involved here. It is probably nothing, but watching it again, I can't help but wonder...

Saying Johnathan Nolan "worked on POI" is a very interesting way of putting it considering the entire show was his concept, and he was the showrunner the entire time.

Teddy is definitely not one of the host she has. She released him into the Forge. My guesses are:

- Angela
- Her Father
- Lawrence
- Clementine
- Bernard (but this might be wrong as they might not be counting him)
- Elise (a hopeful long shot)

Also yeah, a rewatch is essential. I definitely needed it.

I don't think so. William was a business man not a programmer. Liam's father created the AI sphere (sorry the name is unpronounceable) , it doesn't fit with William's profil.

Probably one of the worst season openers I’ve ever seen. I’ve never liked Dolores and pairing her with the wooden performance of Aaron Paul is going to make getting through this season particularly harder.

So I had been meaning to see season 2 since forever but I just couldn’t get around to it. With season 3 here, I finally got my **** together and binged it in the last few days. Overall, I loved it. Some incredibly strong writing and acting in there which is to be expected from Nolan and Joy at this point. The timelines weren’t as confusing as everyone said they were but maybe I had the benefit of binging it all together. The only time I got a little confused was when Bernard was remembering everything in the finale. Also, Clementine’s story is the saddest thing here. I don’t know how likely it is for her to return but I would love to see her come back and get a happy ending.

And the season 3 premiere was great too. I really liked the new setting and Dolores, fake Hale and Maeve all look great in the real world. The setting is a big change for the show but it’s gotten me really excited for the rest of the season. Super curious about who’s in the Hale host as well who the other hosts Dolores took from the park are. Hope we see them soon.

I'm fine with the the shift in setting for one it was absolutely built up to it, and it seems to somewhat invoke (as outrageous as it was) the sequel, in some elements.
The narrative in West World themed park, was spent, they needed to move ahead, to the bigger story.

At the end of S02, Dolores get away in Hale body and later we see her in Arnold's house in her Dolores body with a Hale and a rebuild Bernard.
I was wondering, were they both Dolores, one in the original body and one in a Hale or (probably that), Dolores-Hale made herself a Dolores-Dolores body and uploaded someone else in the Hale body.

Don’t make me hope! Even something simple as Rehoboam namedropping Samaritan (as his ancestor or something) would make my day. Or we hear something like “the Finch theory/code/whatever”.

We know Jonah’s the creator/show runner in both but I wonder if there are legal reasons that can prevent him from doing that?

When I saw one of them, I was surprised... then it pans out to both alongside the dragon. Crazy and weird cameo, but guessing after the last season no one is really itching to see them.
