Bad Robot/Jonathan Nolan Bringing "Westworld" to HBO - Part 1

Fingers crossed for a Ray Stevenson / Kevin McKidd cameo for when they inevitably reach Roman world.

Stubbs being a host wasn’t confirmed (even though it’s a really popular guess) until this ep, right? Or did I just forget about it? Is it just me or is Luke more bulked up than usual?!

I liked seeing Lee again too.

Thandie is such an enigmatic actress. I’m hooked whenever she’s onscreen.

We finally see Serac. I just wish his name wasn’t something that reminds me of Diddy’s vodka. :funny:

That was surprisingly sweet what they did with Sizemore. And I do love what Maeve did to bring down the simulation. And something tells me Maeve and Dolores are going to be on opposite sides in the long term.

Right?! I loved seeing Lee that way.

I look forward to Serac's attempt at controlling Maeve to blow up. Spectacularly.

Now, bring back Elsie in a host.

...this episode was good, but was missing the new fun of the first.

Also, was that the same location from No Time To Die? It sure looked like the same bridge Bond is jumping off of in the new film...

This was a really good episode! The Bernard/Stubbs duo is going to be fun. "A system..." aka more POI vibes :hehe:

"Lee Sizemore died a good man." Talk about a relentless experience...

Well that was very good.

- All the little things being off had me questioning if the writer’s forgot everything from last season. Stupid Darth, of course they knew what they were doing. :D

- So is Nazi Italy a real world in the park or not?

- I was so happy when I thought Sizemore was alive. I thought it was like in Hannibal where that one dude got his brains splattered against he wall, and yet still showed up the next season. Sadly, that wasn’t the case. Still played very well though.

- I watched the Intimation Game today. Funny how much crossover there was with this episode. :hehe:

- Thor’s less handsome brother really wanted a scene where they made it clear he is a robot, after having to explain it so many times after the end of last season. :funny:

- Game of Thrones world. :lmao:

- They got my Shining music in my Westworld.

- My brother made a good point. Never go to GoT world. The scenerios will start great, but the payoff is just going to leave you angry.

- I like how Thor’s less handsome brother went Oldboy with the ax, but then the camera crew filmed it like they were going to post it on World Star.

- Also why an ax and not a hammer? :argh:

- This episode is great, but I miss Dolores.

- The droid is so cool.

- I wonder if Jonathan still loves the Terminator as much as POI seemed to indicate. :o

- I am pretty sure place from the bit with Bernard, Thor’s less handsome brother and the boat is really from Game of Thrones. :funny:

- Bernard just pulled some reverse slavery.

- Finch got a lot sexier, a lot more French in the years that have passed since the end of POI.

- Ballistic: Dolores vs. Maeve

- I wonder how they shoot those scenes, where the actor has to stay as still as possible.

- Dolores is back next week, and the most hype thing for me is the preview. Because it looks so good.

Since Maeve seemed to instantly recognize it, I'd say it is.

Replace "Dolores" with "Maeve" and that's exactly what I was feeling about the premiere. :funny:

That makes good sense. I didn't realize she would know all the other parks, after she was surprised by Samurai World, but yeah. She is pretty all knowing at this point.

That's fair. I would be watching this show anyways. I mean, it's fantastic. But Evan Rachel Wood playing out my cyberpunk Root fantasies after playing out my Spaghetti Western fantasies for two seasons, is definitely why I watch the show as soon as it airs on my coast. And with that I just realized that this show is my actual Westworld... ****.

What was up with Maeve killing the Nazi with a pill?

Bernard - Finch
Stubbs - Reese
Maeve - Shaw
Dolores - Root
Caleb - Fusco
Serac - Greer

:awesome:
I keep hoping to see some of the cast show up, even just as cameos. Or more of the recurring characters - Enrico Colantoni, Morgan Spector, Brennan Brown, Leslie Odom Jr....

Anyway, this episode was great.

It was great to get a last ride with Lee. (Seems like our final time with Hector, too, probably) I love the real world plot line, but playing around with crazy shenanigans in the parks is still the original thrill of the show. The Bernard/Stubbs dynamic is great and, as others said, very POI reminiscent. Can't wait to see the plots start to come together.

Amy Acker was originally who they wanted to cast for Emily. But that stupid Fox Not an X-Men show meant she couldn't do it. :argh:

Another great episode IMO. I loved how James Bond esque the War World opening felt with Hector and Maeve and honestly after this I wouldn't mind seeing Rodrigo Santoro as a version of Bond even though I know that would only drive people on the internet ****ing crazy like pretty much everything else does these days. The Bernard/Stubbs duo is pretty badass so far though and what a cool intro Vincent Cassel's character. Good stuff with Lee Sizemore too and while I should have seen it coming I was not expecting a
full shot of Drogon with Benioff and Weiss standing on the side lol.

I liked this episode was well. It was nice seeing Lutz and Sylvester again, I was kind of hoping Mauve would drag them off on another adventure.

Stubbs wasn't meant to be a host the entire time, right? He's just a copy like the others are?

Glad Vincent Cassel finally made his appearance.

I physically cringed at that D&D cameo.

I love Katja though and her appearance on Westworld is probably what led her to Evil so I can’t complain too much. :P

There should hopefully be some more roles for Amy to nab in the future.

Oh, no doubt. She is fantastic, and I adore her in and out of the role. When the biggest Amy Acker fan in the world... let's call her Qnow Sueen, got over her disappointment after one scene, there can be no doubt she was perfect in the role. :D

I am excited and curious to see what part she has to play in this, when she finally pops back up again this season. Will it be now? Will it be the far flung future? Was the post-credit scene from last season complete BS, much like with Maeve in this episode? So many questions. :mrk:

Absolutely love the recurring Maeve and Hector narrative loops, this time in War World with Isabella and Ettore. Although it read more like Casablanca/Roma città aperta than James Bond to me, definitely had the spy thriller element.
Wish we had gotten a bit more of it, or a closer parallel to the Paint it Black montage, with an actual new analogues safe drop scene, (maybe too on-the-nose), but they could have gotten the secret map out of a Nazi safe. Then made their getaway.

They would also need to add an Armistice analog to join their group, maybe as an underground resistance Maquis sniper with the familiar serpentine tattoo.

Although the recurring parallel worlds is a big part of the appeal to me, and an ongoing WWII Spy thriller narrative with Isabella and Ettore (and Armistice) would be a great continuing side story, I think sadly we've seen the extent of it, as at this point it wouldn't forward Maeve's plot much more,...

I'm feeling that's the last of them, they really want to separate Maeve from that narrative, breaking herself from that loop, is part of her story arc, and that likely means leaving Escaton (and Armistice) in all their incarnations behind her. .
Rodrigo Santoro as a version of Bond even though I know that would only drive people on the internet ****ing crazy like pretty much everything else does these days.
Not me, I would love to see more of it...
