Definitely enjoyed the last episode a lot more than the first 3. The first 3 eps has me wondering if they lost the magic from S1, they felt very narratively unfocused. Now we’re at least getting a bit more drive to the main plot.

I don't know. Haven't seen it yet. But the first 3 episodes had a lot of Dolores. She basically had a mini setup arc for the first three episodes of the season. Then episode 4 was mostly about Bernard, Elise and William. But what you seem to suggest did not happen over the first 4 episodes of the season.
