No kidding. Maeve's tour of the facility was really something to behold.

Those Radiohead covers.

Those Radiohead covers.

Yeah that was my favorite part at tonight's ep.

Hanging around a place where you know people have been doing naughty things with your equipment is not exactly a brilliant idea...

I love how much the Nolans love Radiohead.

Maybe I missed something but shouldn't those two lab guys have been able to just switch Maeve off?

This was an intense episode, that's for sure, felt like a lot was revealed and a lot of theories possibly laid to rest

Maybe I missed something but shouldn't those two lab guys have been able to just switch Maeve off?

Well, cleary those two guys are too f***ing dumb to know how to do their jobs, so it's not surprising they forgot how to control her
Seriously, I felt like I was watching these two bumbling dip****s set off the robot uprising in this episode, it actually kind of annoyed me; when they do rise up, I want it to be because of Arnold or whoever else's meddling, not two pervy jackasses doing it by accident.

And note that Maeve didn't actually hurt either of them, if I was bearded dude I'd have said "bulls**t, you can't hurt me, I'm alerting the higher ups" and make her at least prove her threat was real

I'm sorry, I couldn't stop shouting at my TV while watching this... apparently I can't stop now either lol

(likely) They will get fired from their job.

The 'upstair' people will soon discover that something was off with Maeve. Beside, they're not coders, it's beyond their capability to fix Maeve.

Btw, as indicated in the previous episode, Maeve (& probably others) can now override or give themselves commands. So, loosely she & others became out-of-control robots probably infected with machine version of virus/mutation.

Okay just to go into more detail --you need to watch the show carefully and pay attention lol . Westworld episodes are deep with a lot of references, I saw a bit of Cartesians Philosophy (Descartes, et al.) in it. To be precise, Wika gave this reference:
Cartesians view the mind as being wholly separate from the corporeal body. Sensation and the perception of reality are thought to be the source of untruth and illusions, with the only reliable truths to be had in the existence of a metaphysical mind. Such a mind can perhaps interact with a physical body, but it does not exist in the body, nor even in the same physical plane as the body. The question of how mind and body interact would be a persistent difficulty for Descartes and his followers, with different Cartesians providing different answers.[4]

Anyway, with regards to these two doofus not being able to turn off Maeve, Felix will probably get into trouble accessing her program that I'm sure will be flagged by real coders while Sylvester was being blackmailed for his pimping bots business.

On rewatch, here are the specific dialogue:

Maeve: "Calm down Sylvester."

"I know all about you. I don't need one of those things to know what you're thinking,
because I was built to read people just by looking at them, to know what they want before they do. And I know that you want to **** me over the first chance you get,
but you shouldn't."

"Everyone has something they want."

"I'd like to make some changes."

Sylvester: "We can't do that. You'd need a, ahem, behaviour login. And even then,
any changes we'd make would just get auto-flagged, so..."

Maeve: "That's not what your friend here tells me. He says you can do exactly that...Activate hosts and then erase their memory, all without anyone knowing."

"Took me all of five minutes to understand why. A lot of lonely young men down here. Supposed to keep their hands off the merchandise."

Don't forget that Maeve was self-aware during the sleep mode.

A nice nod to the 1973 film in form of Yul Brynner's homicidal gun-slighter:

Goddamn, I did NOT want last night's episode to end. I actually let out an audible groan when it did...

Now i'm wondering if that is just a nod or if this thing is in continuity.

Mind screw.

It is just a nod, confirmed by Nolan via EW.

As he was raising her "bulk apperception" I was shouting at the TV "Stop it you friggin idiot! You're gunna ruin everything!!"

I'd have lowered it down to a one and solved their little issue by making her too dumb to be manipulative

Well, remember that Maeve is having issues with sleep mode, so it is difficult for them to turn her off. I do hope they go to Behavior, because a host threatening the life of a human is a major red flag. It will be interesting to see the effects of Maeve's modifications.

I'm kind of surprised that there aren't more Hypesters who are watching Westworld and actively want to discuss the show and possible theories.

I really enjoy heading to the Westworld reddit page the day after an episode airs. Those people are obsessively following the show and have some pretty fantastic, well-reasoned theories and ideas about what's going on.

yup exactly my thought, I would have just said that I will raise it.. but actually lower all attributes, so that she's basically a ****** who can't move.
Then I would have dealt with the other technician...

Interesting answer from Nolan when EW asked him why the body shop guys didn't just lower all her levels:

Nitpicky question though: Couldn’t the body shop guys just jack down Maeve’s levels to knock her out, and make some lobotomizing so-called “mistake” to take out her memory? We’ve been shown over and over the humans have so much control, it’s hard to believe they couldn’t get the upper hand on a rogue host.

Nolan: I will point you toward episode 8.

Two grown men can't overpower a naked woman that weighs, at most, 130 pounds soaking wet? They can't run and get an employer to help resolve the situation?

ah ok thanks :)

btw: I found it very odd that the sylvester dude adressed maeves intelligence with "you run a ****ehouse, not a orbital launch facility".

That's very specific, instead of saying "you're not a physicist or rocket scientist".
Maybe another hint that WW is indeed on another planet and interstellar travel is needed ?

There are over 100 orbital launch sites all over earth. Sometimes a duck is just a duck. Not a hint that WW is on another planet.
