The Dark Knight Rises Bane

Yeah i agree, That is if Nolan keeps the venom aspect (which i'm sure he will).

How he administers it though is another matter.

They could do the tube system, but make it smaller, like a constant intravenous or something. People have to walk around with those things all the time, he could construct one that's inconspicuous. It's not farfetched considering people have to shoot up insulin all the time that may be diabetic or something. It doesn't have to look as filthy as a syringe.

I can imagine that. For a film that is also going to be merchandised and aimed also at children i highly doubt Nolan will go (or even be allowed) the pill popping or shooting up route.

No parents in there right mind will be happy letting there child watch a man get stronger after shooting up or taking pills, Warners would simply not allow that in a film with this certificate.

Injection to the blood stream is the fastest way of absorption. How do you want the venom to be absorbed? Sublingual, oral, inhalation like the fear toxin, or anal?

Your stupid if you think Nolan will use a man injecting himself in a batman film, and are clearly forgetting the fact that alot of children will be seeing this.

It's not like he'd be glorifying taking super steroids.

Did he glorify Ra or Joker's terrorist actions? Or Two-Face's revenge? or Scarecrow's fear inducing to feel superior? No.

Maybe make it some kind of inhalant and incorporate it into his mask.

I would accept that,Especially if the venom/liquid inside the syringe is green and it's refer d as Venom like as a code name or something!
lets just not make the green venom glow because that be kind of lame

I might be the millionth person to suggest this, but I'd really like to see Bane presented in the same vein as Anton Chigurh (Javier Bardem's character in No Country for Old Men). Bane hasn't struck me as a character that should have the wordy dialogue scenes like the Joker and Batman did in TDK. He seems cool, calm, and calculating. The more I think about it, you could have made Josh Brolin in No Country wear a batsuit, have Bardem gain 100 lbs. and set the movie in Gotham, and you'd have a helluva cat-and-mouse battle of wits between Bane and Batman.

Welcome to the Hype. That is a hell of a post for your 1st one. Can't wait until your 2nd one. Brilliant characterization.

Yes yes yes....

Joker can murder people by the dozens, slash people's mouths with knives, and blow up a hospital...all kid friendly.

BUT Bane injecting a fictional drug.........HIDE THE KIDS!!!!!!!!1111!!!!1 ZOMGS ZOINKS T3H EVIL:wow::wow::wow:

well then...appears i'm a ****ing moron.

Carry on, sir.

Don't worry about that. Your suggestion is not out of line at all. The Batman series is not really for kids anyway so Nolan having a character injecting himself in no way advocates that type of activity.

I think its a little different seeing a man whos a terrorist, Fear gas, A man blowing ships up and such to a man getting a syringe and shooting up.

It's one thing to see your child pretend to be the scarecrow with his fear gas, its another seeing them say 'mum look at me i'm taking venom' The tubes on the other hand give it more of a fantasty element i'm sure Warners will be fine with, though i'm not sure Nolan will want that.

Nolan can take the films up to a realistic level as he likes but the word Batman will still be linked with children, children will still want to see this, Parents will kick up a massive fuss if we see a man shoot up in what is really supposed to be a family film.

It's finding the happy medium, i'm personally not sure what that is, but i'm certain it wont be a syringe.

Do you not think many people will hear the word Batman and associate it as a child friendly character. Just because we have read more adult material like Killing Joke & Arkham Asylum and know him as more of a adult character compared to say Superman.

Alot of the general audience still associates Batman with family friendly superhero.

Thanks, couldn't have said it better.

Well, Batman actually IS for kids if you want to get technical. We as adults have just taken over the comic book world for our own, is all.

"Hey mum look at me, I'm going to blow up a hospital, slash people's mouths open with a knife, and poison your liquor because I don't like your stinkin rules."

*mother runs away screaming as child chases her with kitchen knife*

"C'mon mom, let's put a smile on that face"

It isn't different.

"Look at me mom! I'm blowing up these ships! I also stabbed a guy in the face with a pencil earlier."
"Look at me mom! These people wronged me, now I kidnapped their family!"
"Look at me mom! I started my own gang to make the world act according to my ideals!"
"Look at me mom! I joined the mob!"

None of the films thus far have been linked heavily to children, it's not gonna start now.
Batman for children is The Batman and Batman: The Brave and the Bold
It's finding the happy medium, i'm personally not sure what that is, but i'm certain it wont be a syringe.
I've seen many people here, myself included(convinced Nolan wouldn't use Bane), certain about things for TDKR. Majority of them, myself included, have been wrong.
You wouldn't be the first to be wrong.

The Batman series is PG-13. A character who injects himself in the movie will not cause it to get a R rating. I know this because Rocky IV had a similar scene almost 25 years ago. Also PG-13 means parental guidance for kids 13 or younger is suggested so that their job to determine whether their kid some be watching this movie.

There is a difference. Believe it or not, it's the "smaller" dangerous acts that censors go after. A kid can't easily replicate blowing up a hospital. But sticking a syringe in his arm?

It's called imitable acts.

I was actually referring to Nolan's series.

Batman's for everybody that's interested.

Not to mention, the overall lesson of the character's venom arc is that he realizes it's bad for him and makes him do bad things.

So there you go.
