What's the point of getting Vin Diesel of all people? You just said acting isn't important(which is wrong). SO why chose a famoes expensive hollywood actor that is famoes for his bad acting? You could just pick some random big guy on the street. That is actually bigger: Diesel aint that big. Plus I think most people would hate the fact that Vin Diesel is in the movie. That's a real turn off.

According to what you think(no acting necassary) wouldn't Vin Diesel be the worst choice possible?

realistically your not going to find a huge bodybuilder type whose also a great actor
so, either go for the biggest guy your can find, who has some acting experience
or you get someone who is a good actor, and put him in a muscle suit, juggernaut style

though, I wouldn't want bane to be portrayed as a mindless thug, again
but, how good of an actor do you really need to play him?

Batman and Robin, what it totally ****ed up was just making Bane a giant, grunting, mindless brute.

The big thing about Bane wasn't that he wasn't just freaking huge and intimidating, but he was intellectually brilliant. He PSYCHOLOGICALLY and PHYSICALLY broke down Batman. Ultimately he failed, but ****, he freaking messed him up good, and that's even before he broke his spine.

So if you do Bane, he's got to show his smarts in addition to being strong guy that could break you in half.

For a role like Bane, you don't necessarily have to cast a big guy. Look at Ron Perlman in Hellboy. You could just put a guy in a big muscle suit and make it look real.

Either way the guy has to capture the twisted intelligence, as well as physical presence as Bane. Otherwise you just end up with the dude who played him in Batman and Robin, whose dead was related to steroid use FYI.

I was joking it wasn't really a serious choice for Bane, and yes I agree with most of your points apart from that Vin Diesal is not a big expensive Hollywood actor anymore, last few films are rubbish and flops and most people have forgotten him.

That doesn't make sense. If I was superskinny, why would I think a big guy was skinny?

I meant skinny as in "skinny". He looked like a average decent big guy on that photo(look at the shoulders). Compared to Bane, he's "skinny".

I tell you what! Bane is a comic character! If a homo sapiens would be as big as he is he would suffer. Perhaps they should hire a gorilla.

The whole thing about Bane is that he's extremely big. Like the biggest guy in the world. There DO exist people that have humongous muscles. And that guy is big, but nothing special really. And it takes away the whole phys ical aspect of the character if he's just a average big guy wrestler.Even comicbook Batman is bigger. And try to find an extremely big guy that can act. Well. Not just well, GREAT. Bane wouldn't work unless he was a cameo a la Zsasz. And I'm afraid that that has been done before. Plus he's a to popular character.
